Never cease to amaze me Georgy. You’ve definitely been instrumental in my build so far. My girlfriend always ask me “WWGD” what would George do. I’m definitely coming to meet you when I finish mine
Hey George. In your spare time!! Draw up a 80-20 murphy bed frame for a 39" x 68" bed with a couch underneath. Full DIY plans with parts list and I will buy it in a heartbeat. All cushions/bedding must remain. Failing that, I will have to seek you out after the pandemic to make me one. I love your videos! Cheers!
I’ve laughed out loud at many references you’ve made in prior videos, George, but never as loud as I did at your Eric Clapton song “Propane”. Simply hilarious......and btw, the technical aspects of your videos are always fabulous.
These were almost my exact words as well! I'm glad you were right underneath my 'comment' spot so I didn't have to repeat! I think the 'Bonus Segment' was all about George's songwriting skills! I'm just going to remain silent, or comment-less on his 'Fantabulous' (?) singing voice!
You really got me with your “propane” song. My wife and I were cracking up. You’ve taken your video production to a whole new level. Got more songs for us?
I see Humble Road has a new video. 1. I hit like. 2. I get a cup of coffee. 3. Sit back and enjoy. 4. Marvel at the time George obviously takes to make every van as perfect as they can be for their owner. Thank you George for taking the time to video everything you do as well. Have a great day!
One of the best things about George and his channel is that even if I never commission a custom built van, I can incorporate the techniques into another type of RV including small caravans.
Your Sprinter refrigerator housing result is the same as our Winnebago Sprinter result including the large cabinet atop. Our refrigerator is located on the passenger side between the galley and the clothes closet. The difference is the elegance of your 8020 design. Nice Job!
On my way to the motocross races today had to get my van fix in with George. Onwards and upwards Skippy! I need a Moto van, those were some of my best childhood memories traveling the country in the van with my dirtbikes!
Thanks, George. I love your videos. I have a question....have you ever considered a recycle system for the shower? I have seen those in other van builds and the filtration allows a small amount of water last through many showers. Thanks in advance!
Thank you Stephen! I researched the recirculating shower and determined that it is not for the martini crowd. In theory it may sound romantic, but in reality, day to day, disgusting! Think about changing or washing out those cartridge filters...skin cells, urine, soap scum, fecal matter!!! No thanks. I’ll use the extra space for more fresh water capacity.
Wonderful video as always. As for the people talking about the slats, remember, this is not the full weight of a mattress with 250 lbs of people on them. They won't move.
George, have you ever planned a murphy bed from 80/20? I would love to see that. Would pay top dollar for your plans on it. Love your videos and your thought process behind everything. Soooo detailed as I sit tinkering sketches for my own shuttle bus conversion
@@HumbleRoad I'd love to lend a hand but I'm halfway across the country! I follow @Derekfrommalden on Instagram and I know that he's been teaching himself to use his router. He also seems to know a lot of handy people that might be closer to your neck of the woods.
Just saw you video in New Jersey outdoors, I need to drop a comment and subscribe your channel. Amazing engineering and design everything top of the line and pratical
A lot of builders talk about the transfer of heat/cold through the metal and how not having a thermal barrier between the metal walls and interior can create mold/condensation issues. When you're using the 80/20 how is that avoided? Or does it need to be avoided?
There is a very promising future for bamboo. The versatile and structural applications of bamboo products is being developed more and more all the time. LAMINATED bamboo fibers allows for contoured frame members. There are cutting boards made from laminated bamboo and you must already know about bamboo flooring. And bamboo table tops. It would be interesting to see how a combination of aluminum extrusion and laminated bamboo lumber would work for that refrigerator frame. More contouring possibilities.
Wow! You use 8020 for everything. Very expensive but also very nice. When I worked for a living the shop guys made machines from 8020. Your work is awesome and very inspiring.
Our Sunday Funday with George is back on track. Love all the humor yet serious stuff in this video. LOVE the table update for van 1. Seeing that beautiful finish reminds us it’s all a process and genius artistry can’t be rushed. I have a hard time being patient watching your builds because I know they’re going to be beautiful. But since you’re working on three vans at once I know it’ll be a bit and I’ll be patient. ♥️🚐
George, your imagination for making installs better and better never ceases to amaze me! I will be buying my new Promaster soon...how backed up are you on build-outs? Always LOVE watching your videos....not only is the information and showing us the builds exciting, but, your editing skills are just as great! Stay safe and have a great evening! UPDATE: I just went to your website and saw that you’re booked up until June of 2022. That’s very disappointing to ME [although I’m happy for YOU you’re business is busy], but, I’ll have my Promaster built somewhere else I suppose, and, will be in contact to build ANOTHER Promaster later with YOU. Or, I’ll just buy a Pleasureway Lexor TS and use ‘that’ until I can get a build from YOU. Yes, that’ll work! Stay safe!
Good morning, George. Love the detail of the new builds, but am even more impressed by the modification of the pleasureway. Wonderful Sunday morning visit!
So the box design im working on is like yours in a sence But see how your infront of it mine pulls out on roller bars And a double piece of wood folded over its self folds back covers the left wheel well and the middle gap and hangs on a 2 inch lip of the right wheel well box frame
I love your use of 80/20 George, I must try it one day. I was slightly surprised to see you used two vertical pieces together for the front leg of both dinette seats but I suppose that's where a person's weight first lands, so good thinking.
Love the modular aspect of your builds!!! I’m sure each van is very quiet when storming down the road!! Thanks for the well thought informative and entertaining video!!!
Your tangents are additional hidden gems and always appreciated. I’m sad thinking about the day when you give up Humble Road because Winnebago made you their chief engineer.
Great video! Thx! However, shouldn't the Ikea wooden slats be mounted with high point in the center of the seat facing upward? The reason for the curve is to act as a spring. 😉👍
Love your videos! We've watched every single one. We have a question about the type of thick plastic you use behind the upper cabinets. You said you bought it was Home Depot but we can't find it. Can you give some more details?
Hmmm you put the bed slats up side down in the concave? ...Why?..... they are always installed in the convex position! ... so that you can utilise the curvature that has been built into them!
No, convex or upwards curvature is for a bed. Stools and chairs curve downward. An upward curve would cause pressure to PUSH the bench frame apart from itself. A downward curve PULLS the bench frame members together for more structural strength.
After watching this video I am inspired to upgrade the Dometic fridge in my Lexor. It doesn't keep a consistent temp and the door actually fell off. I had to improvise a new top hinge .... What model fridge are you putting in your Pleasure Way?
How did they name a screw after me?... For the very few times some luck came my way, "The Teflon Thrust Washer" was my nickname back in the day! ... And yes, Barry White's music could have been the "superfly" on my East Village studio's wall during these very rare occurrences!! These days I'm more like "The Stuck-Back Firing-Blown Gasket"!! Cheers George!!
Yes, the precision required in making my own brackets was not worth the headache it caused. The corner brackets from 8020 are absolutely perfect, every one of them. I use one type of internal corner where I need an uninterrupted inner opening. The inside opening of the fridge, for example.
I have a single counter top burner and a vent-less propane powered water heater, a small 20 lb. tank in cabinet underneath with bottom ventilation. No draw on my electrical, cheap as dirt and long lasting. Convection Smeckshon, No thank you. I LOVE Propane, I'll be coming out with my own version of a PRO-Propane song.
@@HumbleRoad Thank you Sir, I will definitely have both. Well I was going to just do NGL/LPG detector, but I will add the carbon monoxide detector as well just because you mentioned it. No need to research, your word is Gold. Thanks for the tip. (Song still coming soon)
Love you, George, but the chair slats are upside down. They're designed to act as a spring; they should be installed in a convex, not concave, configuration. The weight of the occupant on the seat of the chair will "pull" your structure together.

A similar 80/20 hinged bed frame idea in my head now has been confirmed. Thanks for sharing.
Hi George! Nice video! I have propane, but it's not cocaine! Seeing your craft, on the other hand, gives me the highest narcotic highlight.

Your 80/20 skills will come in handy assembling that CNC router table hiding in the background!
For sure! But I just can't find the time! I need a CNC operator to come in to assemble and get it running! Do you know of one?

Look closely in this video and go watch some of my older videos. I use a vinyl or rubber pad as a thermal break wherever 8020 touches the chassis.
Job well done. Again 🎈
