  • I test charging the Jackery 1000 solar generator from 0% full empty charge to 100%. The result? 6 hours 45 min 20 seconds! Watch the video for proof. This beats the advertised 7 hour charge time but still is a pretty much full day endeavor.

The reason for the discrepancy between the killawatt (178w) and the jackery's (161w) display is losses in the power brick, mostly due to heat.

Kilowatt is reading the input current from 120 volt AC. Jackery is reading input current from the brick witch is probably 24 volt DC. Apples & oranges.

Interesting. I picked up a Jackery 880. And it holds at 60 watts when the unit is at 80% even though I have two 100w panels in full sun.

Your videos are good but should definitely consider getting an external mic so your viewers can hear your voice clearly. Even when I had headphones on I still had to crank the volume up to hear your voice. Keep up the reviews.

I hate to be bitchy, but I'm half deaf & I heard him just fine. Get a hearing aid or maybe it's your sound card or ????? depends on what you're using to play back video :-(

Does Jackery have to be below 20% before charging. My input shows 0w input with wall charger. Blue light is on.

I started charging mine out of the box at 43%, per the instructions manual. They state don't use until you have fully charged your unit. Hope this helps.

Can you charge the Jackery via a 12-volt port in your car while you're driving?

You can definitely charge the Jackery Exporer 1000 via a 12 volt or 24 volt port in a vehicle while driving.

Does charging the jackery via the car battery while driving damage the car or car battery??

No damage that I've noticed to your vehicle car batteries, while driving and charging your Jackery. It's a great compact 22 pound portable unit. I,bought a Goal Zero Unit and a Jackery unit. Both are great, but so far, I like the design of the Jackery better. They both perform well. I like the display monitor on the Goal Zero Unit better, because it stays lighted. You can read it while charging at a distance much easier.

Hi is it positive to charge from solar and ac at the same time and will it make a difference on charging time?

We unboxed our Jackery 1000 and checked the display and It said 50% charge so I plugged in the wall charger and the display said 524 watts input and after 2 hours there was no increase in charge percentage. The charger did not get warm. Have I done something wrong or would you think the charger is defective? Should I maybe run the unit down and then try to charge again? Also, is the fan suppose run steady when you have something plugged into the AC plugs?
