Step 2: Look at your bill or (better) call your local power company and ask them for your average per kilowatt hour power usage. It should be somewhere around 12 cents.

If you've ever wondered how much an electronic device costs to run, this is the easiest way I have found. You can measure anything that has an outlet: computers, lights, microwaves, and especially those devices in standby mode (vampire power) like home theater receives and tvs.

How can you check your AC unit with this device?
Are you able to plug your AC unit into this device and then plug this device into the wall?
@@8686joedog No. I'm not technical at all but are Ac units (condenser outside) not hard wired?
