How about _reading Laura Ingalls Wilder’s books???_ You can get them for free at your local library!! Or are you not aware that the tv show was _nothing_ like the life the Ingalls family endured and triumphed over??
*But DID YOU READ THE BOOKS?!?* The tv show was cr@p, nothing like Wilder’s amazing books!! I’d read them several times by the time that fake show came out, and I was so disgusted by the ridiculousness taking place on that television, that I could only rarely bear to finish an episode, *_and I was only 9 YEARS OLD!!!_* It isn’t too late to read them….you can get the whole series for free from your local library!
@@voraciousreader3341 I do have the books, but haven't had the chance to read all of them. Most or all books (e.g. Hobbit) are better than it's "tv version"..thanks for sharing!
I had read them so many times before the “show” came out that I couldn’t even make it through 1 episode before getting so disgusted at what I was seeing that I had to leave the room, *_and I was only 9!!_* So I can’t understand how people could watch Michael Landon boo-hoo in nearly every episode over some manufactured storyline, when Laura thoroughly understood the pioneer’s stoicism as a child: Don’t cry, pick yourself up and move on! They may have cried after all they went through, but it was so private and painful that she didn’t mention it. That stoicism has stood me well through my life, without my even knowing it!
Very well writen books! Just awesome! I read Little house in the woods in portuguese, as a kid. And then very later on I read all her books in the english language!
*BUT DID THEY READ THE BOOKS?!?!?* _Anything commemorating this amazing family should be based on the books, not on the execrable tv show._ I read those fabulous books 100 times when I was young, and absolutely loved them; I knew them inside out, and still do, so I can say unequivocally: The tv show was a bunch cr@p, completely fictionalized, and not on the books….I couldn’t even watch a whole episode when it came out, *AND I WAS 9 YEARS OLD!!!* It told nothing about the _TRUE_ hardship the Ingalls family endured, but mostly the _STOICISM_ the Ingalls embodied….Laura knew she shouldn’t cry at the age of 4, she knew you were supposed to pick up and keep going, but there was Michael Landon boo-hooing every 10 minutes, and Karen Grassle had ZERO personality, and had to play her character as weak and colorless so that all of the attention went on Landon and Gilbert! What a farce!
They have a larger museum in DeSmet South Dakota as well. And her and Almonzo's Rocky Ridge Farm here in Missouri.
I would like to visit that place. I remember Laura sayong that in winter she coulld not go outside to play but staying in side the dugin houe!

I still have my books bought in the 1970s. It is a fascinating description of the 1800s written in the 1930s. I hope we never censor those books
I read all the books and watched the TV series. She's a very good writer. Also have some of the DVD's!
I had all her books. Her autobiography "Pioneer Girl" and her cookbooks. Gardening manuals, etc.
