It would be cute if she was singing about Marie. Since Marie hadn’t seen her since the final splatfest in Splatoon 1, Callie didn’t have time to congratulate her on her win because she was upset that she hadn’t won. Now that Callie’s back, she’s able to listen to her and Marie’s able to listen to her more instead of bragging about her win. (for jokes of course)

Me after looking at splatoon most traumatic lore
And then looking at this songs just feels different.
i found out about splatoon at 2020 and your lyric videos completely made that year for me. Hearing splatoon songs right now gives me so much nostalgia, after all splatoon was all i had in 2020 and how i felt there was great. Thank you for everything, Caitlin

i really like youve been editing the lyrics effects with how the lyrics slide in and out, as well as how pretty the gradient coloring + transparency is! but for constructive criticism, something that has been personally bothering me for a while in some of your new videos is the numerous jump cuts. there are some that feel unnecessary or excessive where it strains the eye or messes with the flow of the vid. I know its to match the rhythm of the song, but each beat doesn't necessarily need a cut. i think the main motion in the clip can excecute the beat, or you can use some overlays or fade ins (like how you did at some points in the vid!). ofc everyone has their own preferences or editing style but just wanted to voice an opinion! its nice to see your lyric videos again with the new splat3 content comin out
I actually put a lot of thought into this very thing, guiding the eye around the screen. I don't always get it right but I am constantly thinking about it while editing. I'm also aware of the amount of cuts, I chose this many cuts because of the speed and energy of the song. While editing the first draft I did do through and remove some cuts I thought were distracting. Working on it 👍

もしかしたらイカ語は、英語の発音を日本語に当てはめた歌い方なんじゃないかと思った。
後、スプラ2でのアイドルでは 英語が得意な方達が声を担当してるので スプラの歌の中で特に英語みたいな発音だなって思ってた。
What they're actually singing is pure gibberish. Fun fact, when the voice actresses for the Squid Sisters were first brought in to audition they thought that were singing a magic spell.

Nope! Nintendo updated the song for 2023, there are some other changes if you listen for them
@@CaitlinKoi I knew of the instrumentation and updated vocals, but I'd never actually heard the song loop twice to get the alternate melody! Good thing I checked out this video or I would have missed it completely

It's funny, I worked on the new lyrics in a Patreon stream and they gave some great feedback. But SO OFTEN they'd be like "oh I hear ___" but then the thing they heard was just my old lyrics 😂 This is why I need new perspectives when writing lyrics, it's easy to just train your ear to hear one thing. But I think these lyrics are objectively better with a more cohesive theme, better word choice, and less grammatically dubious sentences and non-sequitors

I have learned over time that text tones can be ESSENTIAL over the internet. I had no idea you were joking, I thought you were being a bit of an entitled jerk.
I am no stranger to trying to make jokes online and sounding like a jerk because no one read it as a joke. A simple /j helps that out /gen
(Btw for anyone irritated with the idea of having to learn a new language of text tones, I just know a few that help me)

/hj = half joking
/srs = serious
/gen = genuine

I still don't get the "You made me feel alive before you had me" line.
That’s why Caitlin Koi was skeptical about posting the Lyrics.
That was the one line I had the most difficulty with and eventually just said "whatever let's post it"
The concept I had was "you made me feel great even before we were together" but of course the limitations of the phonetics made the line very difficult to write.
