Totally inspirational! Reading my digital copy of BCA's Currents I saw Jennifer's comments about your departure. Clicked the link because your boat is an Albin Vega. Had no idea I would have so much fun. Especially realizing you had both your Dad and son involved in your shakedown.
And like any good dad, the way you didn't tie off the wind vane hanging bracket while installing it over water, but told your boy "don't drop it", was priceless..
Thoroughly enjoyed every one of your videos while it pissed rain on our Canadian Thanksgiving west coast weekend. I've missed two Albins over the past couple of years. Both had dead auxiliary atomic 4's but I couldn't get away from work before they were each sold. (One in Comox) Looking at a Vancouver 27 now, not to follow in your footsteps (way too old/infirm) but to have a boat like your Albin that will take anything and be manageable. Keep up the good 'work'.

Man, you made a great job with that boat. She looks like she was built yesterday.
And your movies are cool as well. Happy sailing!

Just got a single bar on the phone... offshore and still sporadically able to connect!Fantastic boats. where abouts on the east coast and where you thinking of heading?

We've been working on the boat and training with in in Lake Erie. We will head east through the Erie Canal, down the Hudson river into NY harbor, then down the east coast and over to Bahamas for our first year cruising. Then we'll keep going as long as it's fun.

I want to do what you're doing. Talked to a local boat broker....he seemed less than enthusiastic regarding blue water cruisers at this end of the spectrum. I'm sure he'd be happier to try to sell me a larger & more modern boat. I want to "Snowbird" this boat, whichever one I end up with, down to Mexico for 3 - 4 months of the winter, and cruise the Gulf Islands, up the inside pass to Rupert for the rest of the year. Question; where's the best place to find a Vega or Triton ? Or something similar? Don't need a lot of ''mod-cons" but I do want a proven, seaworthy, smaller boat. Size = $, which I won't have a lot of, once I retire

I am looking forward to your journey, how is you TD Marine diesel going.... are you still happy with it ? I am thinking of getting the same model as yours for my boat as we have a local dealer.

Hello, I loved your video.... I just purchased a Westwind sailboat and I'm working on it now. From what I can find on Westwind sailboats.... it was built in your neck of the woods in the 80's. I'm looking forward to seeing more from you. Thanks
