so PET or PETE is nothing more than polyester, with some prep and a few extra supplies (PTFE sheets and an Iron). it will flatten out those bottles nicely. you can also do some amazing things with plastic grocery bags and potato chip bags(they make nice waterproofing and thermal insulation)
Yes!! Industrial machines are really great with thicker materials but also you want to get the strongest needle, so definitely get a jean or leather needle. I’m sure the more advanced heavy duty machines have even stronger specialty needles for this too!

Are there sewing machines out there that can sew through poly polyester strips eg. baseball cap adjusters in the back of a cap.
