    Quick correction!
    I know the video said that Lamborghini will race the SC63 at Daytona, but that is untrue!
    To be honest with you all, I made that part of the video before it was officially announced, and I forgot to change it! All my videos September onward (besides this one) regarding Lamborghini have the correct info!
    Hope you all enjoyed the video! Got 1-2 more coming this week on the 8 hours of Bahrain 🇧🇭

      I would really like to see Ford do an LMH or LMDH car for the 2025 0r 2026 season. That would be epic. To have a Ford vs Ferrari in the top class again in endurance racing. I think alot of people would love to see them back at the top of the sport.

      The 2400 rule had always been in IMSA's rules for quite a while. It was Glickenhaus that was looking for a way around it. Even if he wanted to go to court, he still would've lost. That's why he chose to race in the WEC, as the rules about production was more lax.
      It's what happens when you decide to race 'on the cheap', running the exact same car, season after season, with very little attempts at improvement or upgrade, and expecting the ruling interests or the BoP to reduce everyone else just to make you look competitive. They tried this until the LMDh's came in, and proved they were no match for them. Both Glickenhaus and Vanwall spent more races in the back of the line. Even the independent Porsches contested for podium finishes, and this is the first year for LMDh competing. That says a lot.

    I don’t see the point of Vanwall continuing with their project. It would make more sense for Bycoles to see about getting a customer LMDH car. A lot cheaper to run than an LMH and as the customer teams have to have all cars as the same spec as the factory cars. Saying that though, Bycoles probably wouldn’t meet the requirements needed to run a customer team.

    • @ronronchau
      @ronronchau 10 месяцев назад

      Actually when the day they have non-hybrid LMP1s, the hybrid is still a super costly thing due to in-house parts, and development cost
      but currently privateer can supply it from existing solutions like Bosch, McLaren and Williams and they're readily available and cheaper to supply a whole motor-battery-driver solution instead of developing a whole hybrid from scratch, like how LMDh does
      Being non-hybrid as privateer in this day is more being a placeholder than a genuine competitor, unless you have some weird thought or being as based as Aston brings cosworth V12 back to the grid

    Hello, thank you for your work!
    although as an Austrian viewer of your channel, I sometimes find it difficult with my school English, which will soon be more than 30 years old, I am 42 myself to understand or comprehend everything. Yes, use a translator as a little help :D
    I have a question. Let me expand a little. On Saturday I watched the complete 8 hours of Bahrain. Immensely cool race. On Sunday, I was looking through the comments on RUclips on the WEC channel, and I noticed something about a topic that has been on my mind for a while. The Balance of Performance. There were comments about the race like:
    The Toyota fair BOP...
    Toyota #8 was already considerably ahead of the competition after an hour & Toyota #7 made up a lot of ground in time after the push from the Cadillac in the first corner after the start
    Porsche made up a lot of ground in the last races of the GTP class and led for 4 hours in Fuji and Jota Porsche had an exciting duel with Ferrari in Bahrain
    Cadillac was allowed to go 7 kilos lighter, but never caught up in Bahrain after the 90 second penalty.
    What do you think? Would both classes be better, GTP/Hypercar, without BOP?
    Or, as the WEC presenter said in Sebring: The teams, with the exception of Toyota, will be test teams in 2023 and will first have to grow into racing teams? Despite the BOP?
    Can the difference between GTP and hypercar be compensated for without BOP?
    Greetings

    • @styrianrebel8143
      @styrianrebel8143 10 месяцев назад +2

      @@ssk-_-dotz3773 I can't remember where I read that.
      Toyota & Ferrari were ridiculed by politicians for being better manufacturers in the WEC. FIA, ACO, IMSA & other manufacturers like Porsche want the principle of equality.
      Please do not misunderstand. I like the WEC. Experienced its atmosphere this year in Spa at the 6-hour race and will watch it again in 2024.
      Thursday work, Friday 1000km Austria Belgium, Saturday race, Sunday 1000km Belgium Austria return and Monday back to work.
      As a Toyota fan and also a Toyota driver in my private life, I was somehow amazed when Toyota still came second in Le Mans despite the difficulties with the lap times, the performance of the GR010, the extra 30 kg and Hirakawa's mistake. What fascinates me about the squad as a whole is the team spirit. Where else can you see that when a Hirakawa was close to tears at the podium ceremony and a Buemi tried to console him.
      And despite everything, Ferrari delivered the whole season. But you can't afford a faux pas like the one in Bahrain in 2024.
      Despite the BOP, the atmosphere within the WEC and the line-up of manufacturers, it currently remains by far the most attractive racing series.
      As I said, the BOP is something that will also be on my mind in 2024.
      Greetings from Austria.

    Kolles/Vanwall dont deserve a grid slot. Lets just take the engine.
    They know, they have to deliver between 500 and 520kW to the wheels for the current BoP. That means they need around 600kW at the Clutch. At least. They knowingly bought an engine with only 520-550kW at the crank. Minus around 15% gearbox losses thats 468kW at the wheels. They knowingly accepted a deficit of at least 32kW. Kolles is frankly too incompetent to deserve to race at WEC. Or anywhere.

    It's funny how in 2022 I was rooting for Vanwall to get on the grid, and for 2024 I'm hoping they get off the grid.
    I get why people like them, they're kind of like "the little guy that could", especially now that Glickenhaus are gone. But honestly, up to this point they've been a meme. What's the point of having a team that is always at the back of the grid? Especially considering their effords at convincing the ACO they're a "manufacturer" come down to stripping the rear wing of their racecar and rolling it down a hill, plus making renders in blender/photoshop where they add their own bodykit to a Hyundai.
    (seriously, at some point they literally photoshopped an IONIQ5 in camo to pretend they were actually testing the car. People found the original image and the post has since been removed)
    But other than Vankolles, the hypercar and GTP classes look really exciting, and with even more potential manufacturers on the horizon, stuff is only about to get better.

If Toyota who have run the car for 2 more years than anyone else is able to reach that potential and all new teams are falling short that is not the BoPs fault, thats on the teams. And all the teams said this at the start of the season, that Toyota was going to be the quickest because they know how to get the most out of the car, and that showed this year. Am I saying the BoP is completely accurate, no, am I saying it is more accurate than certain fans like to make out, yes.

    Lmp1 comes back again. They lower the specs to start new classes but they are rising the performamce of the cars more and more what will result in new lmp1 cars after some time. Eventually the cars will reach lmp1 performance specs again.

    I think in the current economical situation it is so hard for the private teams in the top class to find a decent sponsor . Testing, Windtunnel, upgrades are so expensive. The Vanwall had to struggle with the best LMP2 laptimes.
    And unfortunately what I see on the Isota Franchiti tests the laptimes are only on LMP2 level too.

      it kinda difffers with Isotta. The times they got during testing in Monza would've gotten them in the top 5 in qualifying for the 2023 6 hours of Monza

      @@Robintalesfighter conditions and tire choice make a massive impact on times. Also if the car isn't homologated yet, they could be running an aero config that's not approved

      Kind of, they are basically overhauling the 9X8 for next year if they are allowed to. And per reports they will be scraping the wingless and ground effect design and going down the traditional rear wing design like every other car.

      I agree. With so many manufacturers coming into the Hypercar class, the privateers are going to struggle. Porsche has customer and works teams and Ferrari are looking at running an additional car next year. When the other manufacturers become more established they may also have customer and works teams too.

      That argument is valid for next year, but for this year? I’d take a hypercar over an AM entry regardless of how slow it is. And honestly a potential hypercar entry should always have priority over something like a gt3/e entry

    Toyota won't be in LMH, they're clearly their own category that doesn't have to comply to the same BoP restrictions as the rest of LMH cars. Ridiculous.

      Toyota was the heaviest car on the grid all year. FIA even helped Ferrari in Le mans. Stop crying, Toyota was simply the best thanks to their experience (mostly managing tyre wear), learn a little more instead of talking bull.

    • @maxb148
      @maxb148 10 месяцев назад +1

      Even if Toyota had a bad BoP they still would be quick, they have 2 years of knowledge over every other team. They know how to race their car and get the most out of it.
      BoP is about making all the cars maximum pace as close to each other, if Toyota are the only team to be able to reach that maximum potential that's ever other teams fault for being slow.
      I am not saying that Toyota didn't have the best BoP, but even if they didn't they still would have won (not as by as big of a margin) through knowledge and knowing how to race in WEC.
