The not so scientific anecdote isn't so relevant for the UK, because lots of clothing shops are on the high street rather than malls. In fact malls the entire country over contain almost exactly the same shops, and they're often the same as the US... Zara, H&M, TKmaxx, Urban Outfitters, Hollister... You get the idea. You really need to compare high street to get a picture of what clothing is available.
This oversight makes a lot of sense though because a traveller wouldnt neccesarily know where to look. Checking the shops on the high street is definitely local insight.
That's true however as a tourist you would also walk into stores to find out. Most clothes have the sizes for different countries. As a londoner who doesn't travel to central london, I do this often when I do visit.
As a UK based viewer and a former Londoner, I was really looking forward to this and finding some new hidden gem clothing options to check out, so I was so disappointed your choices were an overpriced, non-plus sized boutique and a super common chain store (I love Yours and it's a staple for my wardrobe, but it's the equivalent of filming in the US and going to Torrid - there was nothing exciting about it). Love you guys but this was such a miss.
Yeah, nearly all the high street UK stores have a plus size range that go up to 24. However in terms of actual 'plus-size' shops I don't think theres that many.
Who is here after the reason why they left i feel so bad i dont wanna watch it knowing in between all the shots she had to sit down or she had a panic attack is sad and makes me not wanna watch😔✋
Emma H actually everyone left, they have a new channel all together, these were filmed at the end of last year but all of ladylike has left since filming this
I love the show but I feel this episode was a bit misleading because so many of the high Street stores have plus size clothing lines that go up to 20 at least. I get that you didn’t want to go to H&M type chain stores but saying that they were very little options is not the complete truth.
I think the point is if you jst lost your suitcase. Some ppl don’t want to spend a lot of money. If I just lost my suitcase I wanna find an outfit, but I’m not gonna spend over 50-70 depending on the geography for some clothes that are just to get me by. I think the point is if you just lost your suitcase here’s a place not really expensive has a decent selection and you can get buy until you get your suitcase
Exactly... The true tourist would just brave Oxford Street... And definitely find something. Pretty sure there's an Evans (plus size store) on Oxford Street too right?
hanzi31 I’m hoping that maybe there are filming restrictions in certain stores? But I feel there’s a little fabrication going on to make it seem harder than it actually is, especially since the lazy oaf store didn’t even seem to stock her size?

Girl needs to go to Asda supermarket they have a huge women’s clothing section that go up to size 26, I also love there clothes because they are all the same as the non plus size clothes just bigger where as places like yours are mostly animal and floral print
kcanded it’s great I nearly always do my clothes shopping there, I just don’t understand why most stores assume because ur plus suzed u can only wear animal print or giant flowers all over your body it drives me mad
It's a shame they didn't consult a Londoner for where to visit. There's so many better places that aren't made just for tourists Aw so many likes ❣️ I was mostly horrified by Ballies. Just tourists and it stinks of sweat and vomit, and she took a fancy coat there 😳 Nooo
I agree, but if I understand their approach correctly, they try to find places through their own research as much as possible. I think that is more realistic because most people who need to emergency shop in London probably won't have a local friend who they can ask for advice and help. For the purpose of illustrating the ease (or difficulty) of shopping for plus-sized body types in unfamiliar places, I think their approach makes the most sense.
I know they avoid big box stores like Target and Walmart but SO many UK stores like Topshop, River Island and Dorothy Perkins have really decent plus sized sections, especially the Oxford Street Topshop. I've lived in both the US and the UK and I think it's easier to get a plus size outfit in UK High Street stores than in the US.
I thought so too! I wear plus sizes on the bottom and I could name so many stores in London that don't necessarily brand themselves as plus sized, but carry excellent options. I guess what this highlights is that stores need to step it up with that kind of advertising. Plus sized options shouldn't be happy surprises as you're shopping with a smaller friend.
I love how they go to Lazy Oaf like it’s accessibly priced to the average woman 😬 I love Lazy Oaf and own a few pieces that I had to save up for, but they are definitely not cheap.
I live in London and Im pretty sure those 7 stores are wrong. Lazy oaf is a tiny shop (and pretty expensive), I feel like that shop was just chosen because Kristen wanted nice expensive clothes. Places like asda even sell plus size clothing. Asda is everywhere. I have no idea where the "7 stores" came from. We have Oxford Street (which is really close to the lazy oaf shop) and has plenty of shops. I know they preface saying it's "not scientific" but it's just flat out wrong. I know London really well and this video is just jarring to watch and spreads false information.
funky fish that number is from 7(?) shopping centres so I’m guessing they found store lists for them and googled to see which stores sell plus size. So it wouldn’t include any supermarkets and would include lots of shops like top shop that don’t sell plus size. I agree I’d have expected it to be higher, but I know that lots of London stores don’t stock the plus size ranges available in the rest of the country and there are less Yours and Evans stores here than other parts of the country so idk maybe it’s not super inaccurate
There are more than seven Yours stores in London, and that's just one company! They have an office in London, not sure why they didn't collaborate with them on this. Everywhere else they've made an effort to find independent and environmentally friendly stores as well, locals definitely would have helped.

Thank you SO MUCH for making this show! I once went to a tech conference and thought my bag was lost and was having a panic attack over it, and my colleagues were like, "it's OK, we can go to Target!" They just do not get it, and I didn't realize how much easier traveling is for straight sized people until that moment. I still push myself to travel because it's so important to see other ways of life and other worlds, but I'm kinder to myself about my plus-size panic and now pack 2 days worth of clothes in my carry on. It's easier to replace lotions and potions for sure ;)
What a culture shock it was when we moved to the UK. The sizes were so different. I have history of eating disorders and it was a blow to need 16/18 uk
At the end of the day babes size is just a number dont let it define you. I've been through the phase where I got depressed because I had to be a size 16 but don't let a number ruin fashion or shopping for you. At 14 16 18 or 20 you're still gorgeous and hottt. Dont let the number define you 🥰🥰🥰
The best night dressed for all episodes IMO ❤️❤️ It' so fun and colorful, so different from another episodes 🌈 and Kristin really killing all kind of style and btw, Jen hair made her look so cute and cool at the same time, perfect👌
Pretty sure this show would be impossible in Asia (like japan, for example-most people there are quite small, I think). You guys should try it though, I’m curious!
Ouuuu those episodes would be interesting!! I was about US 16 at one point and shopping while travelling around Asia is very difficult, but not impossible!
In Japan maybe thrift stores with like old band shirts and oversized 90s clothes, or maybe in a bigger city like osaka, tokyo kyoto there might be a speciality store. But otherwise pretty much no chance, i guess.
I love the day look. Super cute, everything I want and can't have. The night look is not my style, but it looks fun and fits the theme of the bar. Hope you do another season.
I don’t think it matters, but Kristin is already married Although I think it would be a funny conversation. “Hey, husband. I’m going to be married to my friend for the entire week, is that ok?”
Even though during this video you were dressed for winter, the shops and restaurants are open and nobody is in quarantine, it seems some people still don't understand that this was filmed quite a while ago. Maybe a disclaimer at the beginning would have helped.
I will never forget the day when I travelled from New York to Tokyo but somehow my only bag ended up in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Had to shop for new cloths. 😂😂
Just curious, were you unable to get a second place that had your sizes? You picked a place they went up to size 16 and you had to hope they had oversized. If there were other options, why choose that place?
I’ve been excited for this London episode because I went to London semi-recently and I found that they ran a little small. I’m a size Medium and I had to get a size Large shirt and even that was a little snug..maybe it was the place I got it from. But anyways I was interested to see if Kristin would be able to find a lot but she definitely made it work. Great episode !
It’s oversize. If you bought your actual size it would look like you were wearing clothes a few sizes to big so it looks normal size if you buy it smaller
@@sharonshebangs3087 I thought she's a US 20 and UK 24. I mean her frame would suggest so, she does not look like a UK 20. But I'm also shocked that she fit into a UK 16, that's 4 sizes down. 🤷♀️
As someone who has lived in London I am SHOCKED that only 7 stores carried her size....... That is crazy to me! But can I say, that lilac coloured dress on Kristen, SO CUTE OMG!!!

I live in the UK and you guys are the biggest tourists I love it😂
Thank you SO MUCH for making this show!
I love👏🏼 love👏🏼 love👏🏼 the puppy sleeve sweater on her if she doesn’t pick it I’ll be upset
Edit: I’m upset
Oh good, Kristin finally remembered to wear a jacket
omg both outfits are AMAZING!!! my personal fave is the pink furry coat with the floral and best of all the rainbow ish sneakers. PERFECTION
omg I can't believe they landed in London on the one day of the year that it wasn't raining
Jen just gives off such a good vibe and makes me laugh I really love when she’s in videos 😊
“I know where my butters breaded” 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Mourning the lilac dress! It was so perfect for the coat and very shoreditch!
Dont let the number define you 🥰🥰🥰
@@nonnamansour3453 wow that is one of the nicest most positive things I think anyone has ever said on social media. Thank you 🤟
I sound like a grandmother but people need to be nicer to each other theres enough hate as is 😂😂❤❤❤
Jen and Kristen's friendship makes me smile
aw yes more stuff to make us sad we can't go anywhere
lol
edit: thanks for so many likes
The best night dressed for all episodes IMO ❤️❤️ It' so fun and colorful, so different from another episodes 🌈 and Kristin really killing all kind of style
and btw, Jen hair made her look so cute and cool at the same time, perfect👌
Pretty sure this show would be impossible in Asia (like japan, for example-most people there are quite small, I think). You guys should try it though, I’m curious!
Ouuuu those episodes would be interesting!! I was about US 16 at one point and shopping while travelling around Asia is very difficult, but not impossible!
In Japan maybe thrift stores with like old band shirts and oversized 90s clothes, or maybe in a bigger city like osaka, tokyo kyoto there might be a speciality store. But otherwise pretty much no chance, i guess.
Probrably possible in Indonesia cuz there are more plus sized ppl.
Prettypastelplease did a video of this with a friend and they found a couple of stores
I love the day look. Super cute, everything I want and can't have. The night look is not my style, but it looks fun and fits the theme of the bar.
Hope you do another season.
When you shouted “I love these pants” in England pants are underwear,we call them trousers
I *LOVE* Kristen and Jen's dynamic together. By far they're my favorite.
They should do the "friends get married for a week" challenge together lol
I don’t think it matters, but Kristin is already married
Although I think it would be a funny conversation.
“Hey, husband. I’m going to be married to my friend for the entire week, is that ok?”
A very long time since they did that.
I think Jen & Kelsey (Darragh) were the last pair to do it.
Totally different styles and personalities, but still the perfect pair. Love Jen and Kristen together!
“I feel like coats don’t need to close, they can be vests.” Kristen 2020
I love Jen in this episode! She's super supportive. She and Kristin are beautiful human beings. ❤
Even though during this video you were dressed for winter, the shops and restaurants are open and nobody is in quarantine, it seems some people still don't understand that this was filmed quite a while ago.
Maybe a disclaimer at the beginning would have helped.
I love how some of this was filmed in Bluewater, just a few minutes from where I live! Was really hoping this series would go to London ❤️
My wife just asked “isn’t that the lady that goes to places with no clothes” 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️ yes babe, it is lol
Wait... so she’s a 20, she flies to London and suddenly fits in a US12? What kind of witchcraft is this?!
A 20 is a US 16
Lazy Oaf has extremely oversized designs. A lot of their stuff is like a super baggy onesize
It’s oversize. If you bought your actual size it would look like you were wearing clothes a few sizes to big so it looks normal size if you buy it smaller
there’s less overweight women here so the sizing is kinda messed up
@@sharonshebangs3087 I thought she's a US 20 and UK 24. I mean her frame would suggest so, she does not look like a UK 20. But I'm also shocked that she fit into a UK 16, that's 4 sizes down. 🤷♀️
🤩KRISTIN, THIS NIGHT LOOK OH MY G0D!!!!!!!!
When I see London in the media: I wanna go to London I haven't been for a while
When I'm in London: imma get back on the train now
I love Jen! Everybody needs a best friend like Jen!
I feel like jazmyn would’ve LOVED the first store 😍
As someone who has lived in London I am SHOCKED that only 7 stores carried her size....... That is crazy to me!
But can I say, that lilac coloured dress on Kristen, SO CUTE OMG!!!
I think they were only counting plus sized only shops (not including normal shops that still cater to plus sized)
it is so hard to watch this knowing how absolutely miserable they were
Whatttt they were tell me
@@brownbop5617 I know this comment was a month ago, but if you go to their channel kitchen and born they have a video about why they left BuzzFeed
@@lydia6035 oh thank you!!!
@@brownbop5617 You're welcome 😁
@@brownbop5617 also is kitchen and jorn not born, sorry lol
Kristin and Jen, please do not lose steam on this project. You have no idea how rewatching these episodes have brought love and light to my Covid days. Take care and may the creative forces be with you 🍍✈️
7:09
*Again one of the many reasons I love Jen*
Olivia Robinson Also, 11:39! 😂
“I know how my buttered is bread.” -Kristin, and something I’m going to adopt saying 🤣💚
The clothes she tried on at the first store were absolutely horrible. I can’t believe she would say they were cute.
I like the purple jacket with black hearts. Everyone’s style is different.
I'm from England and I'm shook at how few stores Kristin was able to find. It is so much easier in the Midlands and the North to find a larger range and we have a good selection of plus size only stores that only cater to 14 and above up to 28
Kira Easton yeah I’ve found that lots of stores here don’t stock the plus size ranges that are available on their out of London store. It’s very annoying
Kristen: “I know where my butter is breaded” 😂
Been so looking forward to London Ep and it didn’t disappoint! Loved all the Lazy Oaf looks. Feel like Jaz would be proud
Day outfit screamed gossip girl and I loved it
Exactly what I thought 😂 looks like something Blair would wear haha
she really made a show where she gets to shop all around the world. we STAN
