    this is by far the pinnacle of Jazz/Funk of 1973....this arrangement of drums and bongoes horns...trombone, and funky P-bass will be forever emblazoned in my mind~

    Thanks for the Starsky & Hutch edit. I knew David Soul appeared on SOSF but I didn't know Paul "Michael" Glazer did.

      Pity Antonio Fargas didn't do the show, that would've been the trifecta. ;)

    0:58 low pitch, I was born in the 1980s and now hooked on this show.

    Great theme, especially this version with the howling wah-wah guitar - the announcing in between is a bit disruptive to the music though, but I guess that's what they did back then ;)

    On this intro David Soul was a guest star and the Michael Glaser was dubbed into this intro he didnt appear on the same episode as David Soul on streets of san francisco you could tell the dub there was a glitch haha

    @arale1402 Yep, this was one of the few where there was no voice-over. It's even worse nowadays, you get the next show advertised before the current show is finished, not to mention the dreaded squeezed credits.

    It was funny how they told you who was on the show, like we couldn't read.

      It was a gimmick to keep people tuned in, who might suddenly switch channels if they didn't like the credits, they might like an actor they saw. Love Boat did the same thing putting the guest credits ahead of the cast.

    @MITOGEN what, there was talking even over the outro?? Blimey, I grew up in Germany where this theme had no annoying announcing bla bla whatsoever. Guess, I've been spoiled with listening to that brilliant theme on a weekly basis...aaaahhhh, nostalgia :)

    Is that the late Dick Wesson announcing the intro?

    • @kevinfitzmaurice4072
      @kevinfitzmaurice4072 4 года назад

      No, it's Hank Simms, who announced other Quinn Martin shows, including "The FBI," "Cannon," and "Barnaby Jones."
      He also parodied himself on "Police Squad."
      Dick Wesson did serve a similar role on one of Martin's first series, "The Fugitive."

    Looks like a fake Michael Glaser on the same episode as David Soul on streets of san francisco is that what your saying?if they did appear on this episode it appears the dub looks fake because there is a glitch haha
