Epic pounders !! Rare that trade wind swell gets in there like that. So many days driving out to country from Kailua, trades blowing like snot, but Pounders would be small. Surfed CYOs alot on kona wind but only caught Bills Bowl once .. as epic as it gets - solid 6-8' light konas n only a few guys out !! Peace, aloha Godspeed !!

Oh man Jamie phsyciñg out of my mind great day fishing I love fishing I just got done on a tuna trip into Mexico and rocked it too great job I'm going to suggest 2things for you most tunas are lost at the boat 1 get a harpoon not abig one 2they make this tool called a bang stick it stuns the tuna it's a shame to fight that fish and lose it at the boat I have both of them on my boat thanks bro!!!!!!
NICE lures, NICE fish, NICE swivel roller tops for the outriggers... but if you're genuinely in it for the FUN, sell those big ATD's and get some Mak 20's, load 'em with 100 lb braid and 24 foot mono wind on leaders, and you will have reels just as strong, but a lot more compact and much lighter, that you can nimbly pick up and pump a rod with... and get some 2-position Adjusta-butts for those rods, so that you can go curved-butt position on the flats, and straight-butt position on the rigger rods, so that their line won't risk hitting the flat line rods after a rigger strike. And then pick them rods up and COMMIT your weight back past the tipping point, and then reel/pull yourself back up and do it again, over and over, 'til you whup those fish like a sportsman... or your lousy knots break and you get concussed?(no wait, avoid THAT). But that somewhat SKETCHY over-commitment (backwards) and full body fight makes it more fun, like surfing (even if your knots ARE reliable). And the Adjusta-butts let you go curved butt in one second, for the death dive. Oh, and Noc-Outs instead of rigger clips, to make the braid last and last, since pops already sprung for swivel roller tops.

Get an electric reel, I seen one on tiktoc that was fire, 6000 for the reel fully electric and a 1000 dollar rod to pair it. They look just like yours but bigger and with a fairly large electric plug like washing machine style plug not 12V

So a short hard top is better for bigger waves but a long board is better for smaller waves because it is easier to catch waves
