- Durham is a cathedral city in the unitary authority of County Durham in North East England. The city lies on the River Wear, to the south-west of Sunderland. Founded over the final resting place of St Cuthbert, its Norman cathedral became a centre of pilgrimage in medieval England. The Durham Cathedral and adjacent 11th-century Durham Castle were designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1986.

Really a fantastic place... I visited Durham University in April 2024 for a job interview and I will join Durham University in July 2024... very excited to join the University and to live in Durham....
I visited Durham in 2019 to attend my niece’s graduation held in the absolutely incomparable Durham Cathedral one of my favorite buildings in the world. I thought wow she’s so incredibly lucky to attend university in a city like this and have her graduation in an amazing building like this. And the city itself is utterly charming. I really do hope to go back one day. A truly delightful town.

I've lived in a lot of places.and Durham has not been beaten . How could you tho . I know it's getting expensive to live everywhere but Durham is still very reasonable I couldn't think of anything better

It’s not that of a big tourist attraction compared to York or Canterbury Oxford etc
