As far as I am concerned, anything Disney puts out is NOT canon. Period.
I'm also confused what the video has a slowly lingering shot of Carmen SanDiego at around 1:00. O-o;
Agreed. EU > Canon.
Not everything post-disney is bad, but I will say most major releases are definitely not anything that should have come out.
Not since they allowed Starships to warp under forcefields and warpedo into entire fleets, breaking the 'rules' of Hyperspace for me.

Star Wars, Willow, and Indian Jones died the day Disney bought Lucas Arts. R.I.P.
Lucas Arts was the company who produced the games for the Expanded Universe. It was closed by Disney... It gave the license to EA and Ubisoft.
Indian Jones? Is that the Native American of Indiana Jones, or is he from Calcutta? LOL

You can tell they have no accountability because they straight up ignore the federal reserve act
Lucasfilm needs to be purged of everyone not in the special effects department, who need much better health insurance to death with the inevitable back problems they'll develop for carrying this dead weight for so long
Everyone who's had anything to do with the writing since Disney took over needs to go. Up to and including Filoni and all that 'clone wars' nonsense. They need people who aren't emotionally attached to the trash they've churned out for the last ten years to come in and rewrite basically everything since the end of Return of the Jedi into something even vaguely coherent.
Lucasfilm has shat in the mouth of a majority of its fans across all its IPs. They haven’t the humility or wisdom to revive.
I think KK knows her reputation is forever damaged ever since *_South Park_* exposed her to the public. *_The Acolyte_* was just insult to injury.
Maybe they put it out to show the board this isn't working and it has put the last nail in the coffin. The only way out is the Mando movie and world between worlds. They'll tease it and not do it. They'll get as many as they can in theaters then YANK THE RUG OUT FROM UNDERNEATH YOU. I will never go watch another Star Wars movie in the theater
@NoFace-ke9pc Last movie I saw in theaters was *_The Phantom Menace_* for its 25th anniversary. Fortunately, my friend and I arrived after the stupid sneak peek for *_The Acolyte_* was done, so everything we saw was pure George Lucas magic.
That re-release is proof that people prefer the Lucas era.

No one is going to care that Galaxy’s Edge’s timeline has been broken because no one cares about Galaxy’s Edge. It’s Star Wars only in name.
Star Wars in name only: SWINO

Star Wars is DEAD.
You cannot UNDO what has been DONE.
You cannot UNSEE what has been SEEN.
NO REBOOT, NO DE-CANONIZING, NO ANYTHING can fix this.
What they have DONE with Star Wars WILL ALWAYS EXIST. You can't make it disappear. Any fans left can TRY to PRETEND, but deep in the back of their minds, they'll know it still exists.
Star Wars has been damaged beyond repair. It is DEAD.
I'll believe it when I see a picture of Kathy walking out of the Lucasfilm offices with a cardboard box.
Even if you had confirmed reports she was leaving tomorrow, it would not matter. a)The brand is dead. We know the numbers, everyone is checked completely out. But even if that weren't true: b) Hollywood is so broken that there is nobody left who even could save Star Wars. There are no new talented producers, directors, writers, etc. and on the off chance that even one person out there was half way competent in any of those areas, they would be hamstrung by the requirements of the company.
What if they find another new director, of course a woman of color and diverse woman with a same sex partner? Would that change your mind if they openly call for communism and hate the country?
You forgot something. All the freaks and weird ones are still at Lucasfilm. That company needs a complete cleansing than acquiring new talent that actually cares about the lore and characters. But still the damage is done. All of us real Star Wars fans are staying with what George made and the EU.
Lucasfilm's biggest problem is that it is located in San Francisco. If they want the product they are producing to change, they need to change where it is being made first. Their corporate culture is way too linked to the toxic politics of that cesspool of a city.

So dumb of those folks in the Disney Ivory Tower.
.
Instead of trying to build onto George Lucas's legacy like the Expanded Universe had, they let Kathleen Kennedy burn it to the ground and try and replace it with something else..
And that's how we ended up with The Acolyte..
Which was actually intended for a 'modern audience' that was supposed to replace the original, REAL, PROFITABLE, Star Wars fans.
But somehow they couldn't make it..
Was it dumb, actually, if millions of people watched and Disney profited the entire time?
This went on for 10 years. People watched Kenobi and Rebels, ate up schlock like Mandalorian and the Bad Batch. Showed that viewers really have no taste and are the easily manipulated flock Disney thinks you are. Look around at trash like the Rings of Power, the Fallout show, whatever's going on with The Witcher, etc. It's everywhere, because in actuality, outside this little RUclips bubble, people aren't nearly as discerning as you'd hope.
There is no modern audience. That's just commie jargon.
@@alanjefferson1127
Many watched in Hope.
Most of us just boycotted Disney at least 99%
@@alanjefferson1127 I watched TFA, Rogue One, and TLJ, and that was it. Nothing else after that.
I was incredibly disappointed with TFA, but I wanted to see what they did with TLJ, because that would be make or break for the "sequel trilogy." And it broke it... to pieces. That's when it became blisteringly apparent that they didn't have a clue what they were doing, had no vision, and had not planned out a single blessed thing about the "trilogy" and what it's story was supposed to be.
@@alanjefferson1127 Disney lost HUGE numbers of the original fandom. And Acolyte is just the LATEST proof that they haven't been replaced. Not by a long shot.
Each sequel movie performed worse than the previous one.
By fandom, I mean people whose support helped build the original franchise, who didn't just watch movies and TV series, but kept buying the merchandise for decades, probably for the rest of their lives (that used to be me. I've saved a LOT since the sequels). It was probably the most profitable fandom on the planet which is why Disney brought the IP. Except they didn't seem to understand that the Star Wars DEPENDED on the support and loyalty of the fandom. And now, stuff is just sitting on the shelves.
And Kathleen Kennedy was under the delusion that she could just replace the nature of the franchise AND replace the fans.
Also, people didn't realise what Kennedy was up to at first (she only started admitting it in later years). And she probably assumed she'd gain their loyalty once she got rid of Lucas's legacy. And if she couldn't get rid of his characters, she could at least make them less appealing to fans, who would turn to her brand new 'better' ones. (I mean, we even got a replacement 'Skywalker' after the original ones were killed off).
Except the fans wanted their heroes back. So they needed to be replaced, too.
The way I saw it was like this. If something involved the Skywalkers, Obi-Wan or Han Solo, it risked being sabotaged by Kennedy and making a mess of things (that's why I figured Rebels and Andor were relatively safe) .
Obi-Wan's series seemed to be repurposed into a stealth pilot for a potential Reva spin-off.
Boba Fett, a legacy character, like Obi-Wan, also got a version of The Last Jedi treatment (but I think he kind of fared better than the others).
The Mandalorian SEEMED to be unconnected to the legacy characters, until Favreau (with Chapek's backing) made the cardinal sin of bringing back a version of Luke Skywalker closer to his EU self (as opposed to the miserable failure Kennedy had him reduced to)). The ratings went through the roof.
However, I suspect that when Chapek was gone, he had to pay for that during Mandalorian Season 3.
Favreau is probably the reason fans stuck around longer (that's definitely the case for me).And when Bob Chapek was around, he kept Kathleen Kennedy in check.
And then when Chapek was gone, it just went downhill again.
So it was basically a cycle of eager anticipation, then, disappointment and disillusionment, then a renewal of hope, until it finally seemed lost, especially when The Acolyte was released, pretty much indicating that even the folks at the Disney Ivory Tower were perfectly content to destroy the franchise.
Except that doesn't seem to be entirely the case.
Star Wars is in a MUCH worse state since Disney took over..
KK has tombstoned Star Wars
KK has tombstoned Lucasfilm
KK has knee capped Disney+
KK has knee capped the Disney park
She has probably cost Disney at least 10 billion in lost revenue and busted investments (Star Wars hotel).
Iger will probably pick her to replace him.
Your logic is sound and probably accurate. With stupid people in charge over there at Disney it reminds me of The 5 Laws of Stupid People. Look them up.
@@hgwells35 how can you kill something that was already dead?
Pretty much guarantee it.
People need to remember, alot of us OG Star Wars fans lived in Legends, when there was no other Star Wars content and the story telling from Kevin J Anderson and Timothy Zahn and others created the true Thrawn, or Heir to the Empire, or the Real Rogue Squadron books, and the rebuild of the Jedi, Mara Jade. So we love that version of the universe. When you try to create something new, then steal from legends, it just feels watered down
I can’t stand failoni’s take on Thrawn. And I agree with you 100% that the Stackpole books are the real Rogue Squadron alongside the comics
@@markh4473 I forgot Stackpoles name! he wrote 'I, Jedi" about Corran Horn. One of the best books that came out.
Disney doesn't care if they change Star Wars Lore as long as it fits their narrative However Your Consumer base does care and you have to appease that demographic regardless if Disney feels it insignificant
Haim Saban sold Power Rangers to Disney. Disney, believed they could improve the brand by altering the concept of "monster comes to destroy, kids suit up and fight monster in giant robot". It did not go well for Disney. When Saban bought the Rangers back, he brought it out of a financial ruin and brand damage by returning it to the original, predictable format. It's currently worth billions. Star Wars needs to return to what made fans happy and respects the original established canon. It's so simple it hurts. The fans would return in droves if they went back to basics.
I hate to sound like an "um actually" type, but there's a lot wrong with this comment. Disney acquired the rights to Power Rangers when they bought Fox Family Worldwide, they actually stayed pretty close to the formula established by the original Mighty Morphin/Zeo/Turbo/In Space run under Saban. Sure, there were some shows that were stinkers (Operation Overdrive chief among them), but the Disney era of Power Rangers wasn't half bad. Ironically, the "Neo-Saban" era and the Hasbro era are both derided by fans for trying to shoehorn new Super Sentai shows into the "original, predictable" MMPR format even when they don't mesh that well.
And Power Rangers has lost tons of money under Hasbro because Hasbro has no idea how to manage it. They saw the toy sales of the 2017 movie, got excited, bought out the rights to Power Rangers, and then ended up struggling to figure out how to make it work (often overrelying on MMPR nostalgia in the process). Now the brand is on life support, with toy rights licensed out to Playmates and no new shows on the way (because the last few shows underperformed HARD on screen and in toy aisles).
Just because Power Rangers is back in the "original, predictable" format doesn't mean it's destined to be good or profitable. Remember Megaforce/Super Megaforce? That show followed the MMPR formula to a T and ended up a dumbed-down mess.
Power Rangers suffers from what I've dubbed "the first installment curse", where the first iteration of a franchise does so well that anything that comes after, regardless of how good it is, will always be compared negatively to what people remember about the original series. Even if Dino Thunder, SPD, Jungle Fury, RPM, Dino Charge, or Beast Morphers are objectively better than MMPR, they will never reach the pop culture recognizability and popularity of the original MMPR cast. It's infected He-Man, Transformers, TMNT, and now Power Rangers, refusing to let them move past their first few years all because a bunch of neckbeards online yell about the Sword of Power being different, Optimus Prime being a standard cab, trying to be more faithful to the Mirage Comics, or shows that dare to try and shake up the formula for the better.
There's only so many times you can jingle Luke, Leia, Han, and Chewie in our faces before we get bored. What we need is a Mandalorian Season 1-style look at that galaxy far, far away through the eyes of someone we don't know that has the utmost respect for what Star Wars was rather than reheated nostalgia.
@@EternityKingdomsHeadHoncho "Neckbeards" were the ones who kept the original franchises relevant and afloat.
Also, shows who "dare to try and shake up the formula for the "better" " have historically done pretty poorly, mainly because a new creative team don't know what the franchise is about (and therefore can't improve on it) or on the other end of that, make something so radically different, it has nothing in common with the original franchise.
You guys have been talking about this for years. I'm just done with Star Wars apart from the memories I have. You can't fix SW and She's never leaving. Disney will never fire her or Feige.
Them committing Money Laundering is supposed to be a joke but...
The ONLY thing that can save Star Wars is KK leaving and EVERYTHING she touched taken out of canon and the extended universe reinstated as canon
Yes
No. And I will tell you why. It is ironically the best decision they have made to de-canonize the EU and rebrand it as Legends because in doing so they ensured that no woke-shit writers had a chance to add garbage to it and thus preserving its quality. Let the EU stay as Legends to keep the characters and quality of the stories intact.
@@NANA-lt6hd wow never saw so much wrong in ome comment.
@@fuzztsimmers3415 If you care to elaborate what is so much wrong exactly your comment might hold some weight.
If Favreau is in really in charge of the Mandalorian please explain season 3.
This is my question. I’m 100% sure he did not have a say in much of season 3. It was like a 5 year old wrote it. Or George Lucas inserted his nonsense into it. It was awful and disappointing.
That 5 year old is Filoni considering the brain rot he shits out regularly
I think Mando S3 had the problem of Ahsoka and Book of Boba Fett. When you make shows that tie into other shows, something will get lost in the process.
Like the reunification of Grogu and Mando. Instead of it happening early S3 of The Mandalorian, it happened in BoBF. So, anyone not watching BoBF, they would have no idea why Mando and Grogu are suddenly together again.
Or Thrawn. Mando S2 and S3 have essentially worked to set up Thrawn as a major threat and his first reveal happened in Ahsoka.
In both S1 and S2 of Mando, we saw Din Djardin essentially war against his own religious codex (never take your helmet off) which culminated in him taking his helmet off in the last episode to show his "son" his face before Grogu departed with Luke. And S3? You never see his face (but that's most likely because Pedro Pascal was never physically on set, being busy with filming The Last of Us)
And the last thing, Mando S3 wasn't really overseen by Filoni. He was busy with developing Ahsoka, so Jon Favreau pretty much had full control over Mando S3. Favreau also had full control over BoBF and maybe that's why both felt like so much the same
In hindsight, it’s obvious that KKs self insert in the sequel trilogy wasn’t Rey, it was Palpatine.
KKs self insert was a trashcan in the corner of the cantina
Comparing KK to Palpatine rotting strung up on that mechanical arm is an insult to palpatine
You guys have been saying the same thing for years. Who cares? Disney killed Star Wars a long time ago, and it will never recover. Kennedy leaves someone worse will replace her.
There is zero chance a “Rey” movie ever goes before cameras. Zero.
From your keyboard to Iger's monitor
Ha! I hope you're right. I too am skeptical. But then again, it's because it's such a precisely terrible idea that I could believe they would do it. At almost every turn, not only have they made bad decisions, but seemingly the exact worst decision they could make at every fork in the road.
You know what’s going to happen if they do? It’s going tank, straight through the floor, and nobody will be surprised except the woketards screaming “you just hate strong women!!!!” and throwing around their favorite words like “toxic fanbase”, bigots”, “trolls”, “review bombing”, and might even mix in “misogynist” or “sexist”. It’s got absolutely no chance because nobody wants Kathleen Kennedy’s self-insert Mary Sues on screen and everyone, EVERYONE has made it quite clear that they never, never, never, never will.
I sure hope that's the case.
Somewhat agree. I think she'll come back in a mentor capacity, whatever the new order looks like, she will be a senior figure who will be somewhat prominent at the start and phased out. Kinda like passing the torch... a dying torch.
Why did Lucas trust Kennedy? They can’t possibly be friends at this point.
Lucas didn’t do this. Not directly anyway. But selling the Star Wars IP to Disney was his single dumbest decision in life.
The Jedi trusted Palpatine.
@@Tavak86He made $4 billion dollars. And this was after a decade of people telling him he ruined their childhood and shitting on him about the prequels. We got what we deserved. If I were him I’ld be laughing my ass off now. You underestimate how badly he was treated by the fans. If you were around back then, you would understand.
@PondoSinatra680 he donated all of it. Like immediately. He was already a Billionaire with his merchandising deals.
She used blackmail. She knows everything. She was there from the beginning for all these very powerful filmmakers and producers and Hollywood executives. You think only Harvey Weinstein was doing bad stuff? You think there wasn't way worse stuff happening? Even if George Lucas wasn't directly involved, a lot of his friends were, and likely still are. She kept her mouth shut and paid her dues to the evil forces in Hollywood, and this was to be her big reward.
The only reason KK would leave now is because she wants to get some non-disclosure agreement signed before she takes the stand in Gina's case. In other words, she's trying to avoid going to jail. I'm not sure that would actually protect her, but it would probably help.
too little, too late.
They need to admit their mistakes and humiliate KK before fans even think about giving them another chance.
KK having to do a public struggle session would be a fantastic start. It was something she demanded Gina Carano be subjected to, so turnabout is fair play.
Not going to happen, at best you can hope for the next head of studio(if he is smart) to publicaly rip out a poster of the force awakens, set it to fire and then announce they are making a faithful addaptation of the Thron trilogy.
They need to go bankrupt or otherwise financially insolvent enough that they have to sell off the property to someone else before I'll give them a chance. Either that, or go through a complete leadership change from top to bottom, and show that Disney has been purged of woke.

His vision successfully re-structed Morgan Stanly’s business over the years and he also kept Morgan from the brink of going bankrupt (like 2008 Lehman etc.).
The only thing, is there too much of the Disney 'Old DEI Club' left, to ignore Mr. Gorman. 'So maybe too little too late’ as prior comment.
I am rolling on the floor laughing at the thought that Disney is worried that the timeline for Galaxy's Edge has been broken. These people are so out of touch. They don't realize that It could be broken 100 times and no one would care. No one gives 2 cents about Galaxy's Edge. #1 No one considers a theme park ride to be canon in any way and #2 it is set in an era that no one cares about--so that is double the apathy--a two-for-one special!!
Corporate people are so out of touch with the public and their own IPs it's impressive. Do these people not have Internet?
Additionally, the time to worry about canon and continuity is before and during a production. Once you've released the product, be it film, game, show or book, it is faaaaaar too late.
Because the business model is meant to really be about the money from the parks and rides.
The fact they’ve been destroying the ip that feeds into the parks model has only been partially noticed by them now, but not in the right way.

They still don't understand why that didn't work out, because of that bubble. But at least they're finally starting to realize that something is wrong, even if they can't accurately identify the cause.

Mark Hamill spoiled what little I still cared about Star Wars. It’s a little hard to root for Luke Skywalker when you know he hates you.
Yeah even the OG trilogy was dead for me seeing what a seething, hateful, violent progressive Mark, of all people, is. How disappointing. He was the last glowing ember of the original phenomena. Now the whole thing just seems like a dumpster fire that needs to be left to burn.
Mark Hamill was nothing like this back then, though. The difference is literally Anakin and Darth Vader, two entirely different entities sharing one body. One ends, the other begins.
@@ZenMonkeyGod Actually Mark Hamill was and has always been a prat. After he shot Star Wars but before it was released, he scored a lead role in a T.V. series called "Eight is Enough". Then Star Wars was release and Hamill had a tantrum demanding to leave the show, as he wouldn't be a "T.V. actor". As the show was in pre-production, and it was also at this time he had the car accident that scarred his face and required a lot of facial reconstruction surgery, the studio relented. The accident was also the reason for the introduction of the Wampa scene in Empire to explain the slight change in his looks. Before SW ever came back in the 90's he had a mostly failed stage career but also did recorded cut scenes for a video game series called Wing Commander. Disappointed Hamill fans have frequently reported over the years that if Mark was ever questioned about his time on the game series they are ignored and even scorned. Later conventions he attended would pre-screen attendees questions at various panels to weed out these questions. Finally Mark has quit the role of the Joker in the Batman Universe and returned back to the role so many times, (costing other, equally talented actors that role) that you wonder if he has his own Lazarus Pit. I had seen a later BTS interview on one of the animated projects where casting director Andra Romano was talking about Mark and unlike all the other people she spoke about there was little warmth. She was very professional but compared to how she was in previous interviews, there was no affection.

Thank you for your efforts in reporting on this issue. The problem has been systemic from day one.
Disney Lucasfilm did not respect the Star Wars IP, nor the Star Wars audience, and the sequel trilogy clearly reflects that.
It is impossible to move forward with Star Wars without erasing the ST and making a real sequel trilogy which respects George Lucas' six film saga, but also pays respect to the fans, and the canon, etc.
But to do that you need to clean house at Lucasfilm. Every change KK made needs to be fixed. KK and her fake women's empowerment agenda is toxic. Even some holdovers from George's day need to go because their imaginations suck, such as Dave Filoni, Pablo Hidalgo, etc.
Star Wars is dead, and the Acolyte was the final nail in the coffin. Kuntleen Kennedy will never leave Lucasfilms. There’s nothing that can ever bring it back.
Mark Hamill was asked what Kamala’s economic policy was by a reporter…he got mad and stormed away 😂
Her campaign has hired so many “fans”. Money can buy lots in Hollywood and Washington D.C..
Mark Hamill is the worst. I’m glad his last portrayal of Luke was a weak, angry old man who just disappears.
he is a lost cause
@@SpecialAgentEBunny Literally life imitating art.
I have been saying this for years now, the biggest step to fixing Star Wars is getting rid of the Sequels completely. Forget trying in anyway to fix them. This isn't at all the same as something like the Prequels, where regardless of the issues with that trilogy, had the foundation of a good story to work with and world building aspects to build and improve upon. The Sequels don't have that. Those movies were nothing more but soulless cynical cashgrab rehashes of the Original Trilogy while pretty much undermining to out right destroying everything that mattered and was accomplished in those films, just for the excuse of trying to retcon some boring as hell Mary-Sue that nobody likes as the real hero of the Saga's story. Either adapt from the original story treatments that George had provided or adapt one of the various and superior stories found within the Expanded Universe that they disregarded.
Pro said that nobody wants KK's job because it'd be too difficult to fix. Man, I could do it easily and for a fraction of the cost of whoever they think could do it
Ditto, I want it because, unlike those in charge now, I love the Star Wars universe and have numerous fond memories of watching the movies with my dad, and tuning into TCW on Friday nights. As long as there’s those to remember what was, it’ll never truly be dead. What was can be again, though it’ll be a long, arduous journey.
Really? This rumor agin we’ve heard a hundred times over? I’ll believe it when I see it, until then I say BS
Agree!!!!
It might be true!!!
But this is the first time Pro said it. Not the dork in the mask who's been saying it every 6 weeks since 2018

No difference from what I can tell.
Kathleen Kennedy robbed multiple generations of people of a good continuation to a story they grew up with and desperately wanted to see and root for.
They literally can't do it now. Luke is an extra 10 years older. Han doesn't want anything to do with Star Wars anymore and was happy to be killed off. Leia is deceased, rest her soul. And with Mark Hamill becoming so overtly political these days that he even drags that crap into conventions with him now, a lot of people wouldn't even want to see him reprise the role now.
They had a golden opportunity. A perfect window to do something amazing with. And they completely squandered it on wokeness.
Personally, I feel like they need to just make animated films so they can use voice actors to carry the roles, and they can replace specific voice actors as needed due to controversy or whatever if necessary so it won't be as jarring as a whole new real actor. Get writers that actually LOVE star wars, not these activist wanna be's that want to inject modern day american political ideologies into the story at the expense of the story itself.
Tell the story all star wars fans actually wanted to see: Luke rebuilding the Jedi order while Leia helped rebuild the galactic government. You could make a high budget series that would be phenomenally successful by doing this. Each season could even push the story forward a few years. Have Luke have a kid with someone and Leia and Han have a kid, and they be Luke's first two sudents. Push forward a few years when they're older and able to do more things. Push forward a few years when they become knights and take on their own padawans, meanwhile luke picks up 2 new younglings to begin their basic training. Plenty of adventures, mysteries, and ancient secrets to be dug up in Star Wars. It doesn't always have to be the "underdog heroes" story. That didn't even make sense in the sequel trilogy because the empire had already lost and already been replaced by a new government, but then they labeled their faction "the resitance" anyway just to try to capitalize on that Rebel nostalgia despite it making no sense. It's okay if your faction is in charge, because there's always going to be corruption, pirate factions, separatists, and other problems that you need to deal with.
And having this new story be about luke rebuilding the order would've been a PERFECT vehicle to actually introduce more female jedi and alien jedi and black jedi and asian jedi, etc. You could've introduced them in an organic way that made sense and still had your diversity without completely race swapping the whole Jedi Order trying to win points from people in two cities in California.
So many possible stories to tell.
Instead they just remake New Hope with Nausicaa for episode 7 and all of episode 8 was about being low on space gas the whole movie and absolutely no one on either side having any possible ideas to do anything about it other than just continue moving forward at a steady pace before, you know, the grand "brilliant" plan of the WOMAN who refused to share her plans with anyone for no reason was to sacrifice their entire fleet and then do a lore breaking suicide attack. Great plot guys. And I didn't watch 9 because I was already done at that point, but i've heard the "somehow palpatine returned" line and i've seen the CGI copy-pasted fleet that inexplicably comes out of nowhere, and that's really all I need to know about that movie. Oh and who could forget she calls herself a Skywalker for some reason at the end, even though that also doesn't make any sense.
So much wasted opportunity. Absolutely squandered.
No one seems to care about animation in Star Wars OT fanbase. They keep calling them kid cartoons
ugh...another KK rumor about her leaving...really?
And, yet, KK says she wants to go out on a win. I don't see how that can happen.
Well the late great Mikey Sutton said when her contract was renewed the last time they would just let Kennedy’s contract expire and they wouldn’t fire her. So she’s gone end of the year. I trust Mikey cause Mikey knew his shit. Miss that dude so much.
Fixing Lucasfilm without Kennedy would require a near-complete removal of the management and replacement with people who respect Lucas's original vision for the series and who love Star Wars and want to see it healed. It will be difficult, but nothing worthwhile is ever easy. Getting Star Wars made in 1977 was a herculean task, requiring a young director to swim against the currents of the woke 70s culture, fighting to keep his over-budget production going, dealing with all sorts of bad luck (such as a rainstorm in the middle of the Sahara when they were filming in Tunisia!), and dealing with a Fox board who was deeply skeptical of the entire effort, saved only by Alan Ladd Jr, the president of 20th Century Fox, who believed in the project.
Woke 70s culture? Also there's a reason they buy already successful franchises, to not do stuff like that ever again. What's the point if they have to rebuild it?
The '70s were more civilized times.
@@nifftbatuff676not really
@@animezilla4486 yes really. The same original Star Wars movie reflects that. It's a story about a civil war against a nazi-fascist totalitarian regime. And everyone was ok with that.
The only way to fix Star Wars now would be to give it away for free, to someone who actually likes Star Wars! Elon Musk? Not Amazon or anyone from the left!
Like the song goes: In the end it doesn't even matter.
My brother is a geologist. He never liked Geode.

Do Rings of Power instead. I've given Up on Disney largely. There's no internal candidate first. See you that can be trusted. They need to look outside of the company.
Problem with Star Wara is the executives never want to relinquish control of it. In an ideal world you get a top tier director similar to what Nolan did for Batman to do a trilogy with creative control and rescue it, but I can't see that happening anytime soon.

Star Wars needs a massive reset. Get rid of the “Rey” stuff. I heard George Lucas gave Disney a rough outline for the storyline after Return of the Jedi. Use this! Use the Star Wars legends books. Respect the source material and appeal to the primary demographic that likes Star Wars! I hope this happens🙏🏻
Hire me to run Lucasfilm. I have one ideological goal: MAKE MONEY
Yes and do it by making content the majority of fans want.
Hollywood needs to end the universe mode and the idea of Canon and everything has to connect with everything. The way to resurrect franchises like Starwars and Marvel is to go back to the serial model. Make complete stories in 1, 2, or at most 3 movies. They can connect to the other stories or they can be stand alone stories. That is how franchises like Star Wars, Indiana Jones, and even the early days of marvel were created. But for some reason, Hollywood decided to try to make everything connected to everything. Bring back creative decision making by creative people, not corporate executives or people making agendas front and center over story. Fans want to be entertained. Messages can be pert of stories, but they only work when they take a back seat to the story. The entertainment industry forgot that, which is making fans forget about them
Agreed with the rest…other than revenue from clicks, Star Wars now serves no purpose. It’s a dead brand and Luke was the only way forward. They fumbled that (twice). There’s nothing left to save. Unless they erase the sequel trilogy entirely and go back to focusing on Luke building the academy EU style, it’s over.
Here we go. . . . Again!
I can't even get my ten and fifteen year old sons to watch star wars with me.
The dogmatism of a KK or Iger is a metaphor for how politics are, in effect, San-Francisco-izing just about everything. That includes the media, education, entertainment, corporations, US cities, US states. As for sports, the head of the IOC (International Olympic Committee) recently said there's no scientific way to determine the difference between males & females. It's an updated version of the fanaticism that hit Russia, Germany, China, Cuba, etc, in the 1st half of the 20th century
Galactica 1980 the sequel trilogy. Meaning…ignore it, don’t acknowledge it’s existence. No need to “Decannon” it officially or unofficially, just ignore it, do other stuff. This was done for Battlestar Galactica, and it basically worked.
who can't forget the Star Wars character known as "The Rock"....ohhhh, such a crowd pleaser
And not a character like Groot, no. A literal boulder that is a co-pilot.
They could've made it work by using it for pure comedy, like the main pilot is so good at what he does but is half crazy that the boulder is his imaginary friend and insists that "the Rock" helped them so much when in reality the pilot did everything.
I've heard this a million times. I'll believe it when KK leaves and a good Starwars movie comes out.
Until then, Starwars is wrecked and it ain't getting better.
None of this matters if the woke activist are still in charge of it
I was loving Force Awakens (mostly) until Last Jedi.
I will believe it when I see it in "Back & White!"
They have removed from Hollywood Studios any references, outside of Galaxy’s Edge branded merch, Sequel Trilogy stuff with the exception of the new Kylo helmet that was just released last week. Pins, things like that, gone.
If the "canon" depends on movies, shows, and other media which almost no one likes and no one takes seriously, it is really canon? If no one watches something, how can other media made later depend on something which no one watched or liked? And if Kennedy insists on pushing this crap, is it any surprise that Star Wars and the rest of Lucasfilm have been driven off a cliff?
If you believe Star Wars fans they never watched ROTJ and prequels and it was only 2 good movies in the franchise.
KK's method for coming up with a good idea is to do a hand stand in the corner and crap all over herself and then proudly declare its the best idea ever! 🙃
Star Wars is not safe until Disney no longer owns it! Although a great place to start is to fire Kathleen Kennedy, Leslie Headland, and Dave Filoni!
Disney’s not selling Star Wars but someone else could buy Disney especially if the stock keeps falling.
Dang, I was SO looking forward to a Geode mini-series. His co-pilot could be Tcharly B'rwn who's catch phrase would be "I got a rock."
I hope the Ahsoka action figures have a button you can press that make her fold her arms.
Hope for change died along with the past, and if it lived its being order 66'd
It must be eating at KK knowing that her legacy will one of destroying two beloved franchises.
That was her goal. She got revenge on Lucas for "never believing in her" by destroying all three of his "universes" and she got PAID A FORTUNE to do it.
I wanted KK gone before she broke everything. She can stay as long as she wants now
Can't wait for the KK era to end, and I agree that once she leaves they still need to clean out the flying monkeys.
How does Rogue One play into this? It was a great installment, who gets to take credit for that? was that started in the Lucas era and survived the transition to Disney? I feel that production is a very gray area in the lineage of Disney SW.
Past caring
At this point just leave Star wars in it's grave.. it's just small cool moments surrounded by terrible writing and politics everyone is sick to death of.
Erasing the sequel trilogy is, was , and always will be, the ONLY road towards Star Wars’ redemption. My main issues are:
- We’ve heard this before, over and over…
- The brand damage has been massive already. For Years. Kennedy could leave tomorrow and her replacement could make a very public announcement that the sequels are non-canon (of which Disney would likely squash to avoid Twitter backlash). Who’s left to care?
The Saga is coming soon.
21:46..." find other people " But the force is female philosophy made KK hire 50% female staff for Lucasfilm. Going outside again for a win (Mando Season 1 was the modern Lucasfilm Ltd's only win) looks really bad. They were bragging about it, and now Star Wars is wasted.
Seriously doubt any "big changes" are happening. How many clickbait content creators have said this over the years? As long as Disney owns it, its dead to me. Even if Kathleen is gone there are so many more identical woke talentless losers to take her place. Their culture is too engrained in the company everywhere. They are not capable of good entertainment anymore, and even when its mediocre its still filled with forced DEI, gender swaps, and politics. Zero hope until the IP is sold off, or they retcon the new trilogy and reset everything. Those are the ONLY two scenarios.
21:38 there is zero chance a Rey movie will be good and it’s a moot point anyway. It doesn’t matter if it’s good or not because nobody is going to see it.
Will never watch anything produced by Kathleen Kennedy....ever... it's a life long commitment
She single handedly turned the most successful movie house in film history into a toilet bug
With the exception of old school lucasfilm and Spielberg, right?
it's not the era, it's not the characters, it's not the actors, it's the writing. It sucks, and these stories only exist to push a narrative and political agenda no one wants.
Yall didn’t even mention the disaster that was the latest Indiana Jones movie. Even with the Star Wars trilogy grossing a butt load of money, but leaving a lot of money on the table with their diminishing returns…. Adding everything up, lucasfilm has to be in the net loss in the billions realm?
Nobody mentions the Indiana Jones movie because it was preceded by another entry that was widely despised.
Iger bringing in people to help with succession is a CYA maneuver, the company is a mess, the rot is deep like WB had, look how difficult WB has had it, they knew it was bad and require years to fix, yet people are getting impatient over there, the DC has yet to release a new era of DC and time is running out. The next Disney CEO will likely be a failure, they won’t have the mandate to do what is required
How is time running out for DC...
0:57 where in the galaxy is carmen sandiego?
The rot in Disney is so bad, that the only way to repair it, is to strip it down to the foundation.
Tbh it’s beyond repair regardless if she leaves or not or even if they are getting away from sequels in the parks, but the truth is the galaxy edge is a mess and disaster they try to bring in these characters from the d plus show but that’s not boosting any attendance or giving more views tot he bloggers since that was only on day one of their debut I would agree with majorly of the comments saying I’ll believe it when I see it, but most will agree not only that you have Dave filoni is there, but bc you also have Bob iger remember the whole term of “the buck stop with me on Star Wars” which will never forget that and of course he continued to allow Star Wars to be a broken/dead franchise much I would love to agree with you pro, but truth is it’s not gonna matter anymore bc again everything bob iger allow is under his watch and those who say that oh bob iger is changing course he’s getting rid of the woke when the exact same people were also criticized him and wanted him gone and now trying to make him a savior of Star Wars that’s a double standard those people have.
KK must have hated George to be as petty as she is. I can understand trying to do your own thing, but she seems to go out of her way to crap on his stuff.
