I was in Medjugorje in97. On the front end of a terrible depression. But for the 3 days I was there, I remember saying to myself how absolutely good and at peace I felt. Was with a group of older ladies, I was a 27 yr doctor dealing with the thought that I made a mistake in life. But while I was there, I was in perfect peace.
I went there in 2006 for the 25th Anniversary. It was the most peaceful place on Earth. I couldn’t believe how everyone was so happy to be there and going to a packed Mass every day. I want to go back and would love to live there or someplace like that.

I listen to the Touched by Heaven podcast and the host, Trapoer Jack just led a pilgrimage there in October and he is doing another one in May. -and his podcast reports on stories over the years of apparitions among other heavenly encounters. I’ve felt drawn there for years. I wish I could experience that healing , that peace. The day we see her in her Glory will be the most amazing day.

I was there also.... in '84. The apparitions began in 83. I believed in the truth of the apparitions then. I do not believe now. There are many reasons for the change. Perhaps I'm wrong. It wouldn't be the first time. God and Our Lady will let me know, even if I'm not breathing.

@nancy dodds, yes I was telling myself, "you can fast... Barbara! Jesus fasted for 40 days and 40 nights! Let me see 40 days X (times) 24 hours equals... 40X24= 960 HOURS OF FASTING!" Then I said to myself, " Jesus fasted for 960 HOURS and I'm worried about two!??? Oh my shame.... 😢

Thank you Christine! This Mary's Mantle is profound. I am about to do it again (4th time) this month. It's beautiful & there is great peace here. Ist time in the summer of 2020, found out my brother & his wife were divorcing. My intention during the consecration was that they would get back together. After 1 year of divorce and my brother even bought another house, they got back together -he sold that house. They were married in mid 1990s.
Please pray for my marriage. My husband stays away from home. He has another woman. I am praying the rosary to bring him back since we are married in the catholic church and have children.

I would fast on bread and water. But for dietary reasons I don't eat bread. I'm on low carb diet.
Someone told me or I read fasting doesn't just have to be food. You can fast from other things you find enjoyable. Phone , tv, video games...etc. What do you think?

He did take her into home. They all lived together, JOSEPH, MARY and JESUS. Joseph , it is believed to have given his life to GOD, was chosen by GOD to be the Foster Father of GOD’S SON, the WORD. He would be sinless at the time of the Baby(GOD) as no sin can approach GOD! Each person of this HOLY FAMILY had their prayer”room” Mary was the perfect wife and JOSEPH the perfect husband. And of course Jesus was the perfect child. They LOVED HIM, and they raised the MAN-GOD. All this is necessary as HE HUMBLED HIMSELF to be like us in ALL, except sin. That as an adult HE would be the only perfect HOLOCAUST to the ETERNAL FATHER, for all sins that so offended HIM.

She was pregnant when they were engaged, that’s why Joseph wanted to call off the engagement quietly, but of course we know he didn’t because an angel of God came and told him that she conceived by the Holy Spirit.

Why do Catholics call Mary an unwed mother? The Bible tells us she was bethrowed to a man named Joseph which means they were married, they just had not lived together yet. The Jewish traditions were very different than the american ways.

I have never called Mary an unwed mother. In fact I have argued with a bishop who called her patron of unwed mothers. You don't get a divorce from someone to whom you are mot married as Joseph wanted to do.
I think this is not a regular Catholic thing as much as a perception of being a regular Catholic thing.
She was married joseph...and I a catholic. She was engaged to joseph when Gabriel spoke. We do not call her unwed mother.

The main problem with this is Mary, the mother of Jesus Christ, is still asleep in death, unconscious to time and place, until called forth by Jesus Christ at one of two resurrections (Ecclesiastes 9, John 5, Revelation 20). So any who think they are praying to "Mary," whether they realize it or not, are engaged in necromancy and praying to fallen angels who impersonate the dead.

Jesus' crucifixion, resurrection, and Ascension are our salvation economy. He defeated death by his death and opened to us new life, opening the doors to heaven, for those called children of God.
When we die, we are immediately judged for our personal life by Jesus our Lord and Savior. If you are in a state of sanctifying grace, washed by the blood of Jesus, you are saved.
When Jesus comes the second time, it's for the general judgement.

She is Catholic, a religion that formed after the JEWS were scattered and Jesus’s Teachings were made known by HIS Jewish disciples. Jesus’s WAY became a Church during the end of the Roman Persecutions, around the time of Constantine. Church history has its ups and downs. The trouble with that idea is:
Mary is not a goodness, she was a human being(flesh and blood) like you and me, mortal, who was the handmaid (servant) of GOD. She was obeisance to be used as an instrument in fulfilling a prophecy of a virgin of the Messiah.
She was married to Joseph, as married couple, (after the birth of Christ) they had sex-right, that’s what married people do, to have kids of their own. Therefore, she never remain a virgin.
There’s nowhere written in the Bible that we must go thru her, none whatsoever, it is only thru Christ. Salvation can only be achieve by faith in the Messiah. Because HE is the saviour, not Mary, any Saints, Religion, or Clergymen.
Salvation is by Grace, thru confession, repentance, and surrender to GOD. We all are sinners, needing forgiveness, not from Mary, or any human being, but from GOD in the Bible. The blessed Trinity.
That experience is described as being born again, born from above, renewal in spirit, or whatever its called… It’s a spiritual transformation by experiencing forgiveness, above all, living right before GOD.
The premises is simple: The scripture, an infallible word of GOD, written on the books of the Bible, HIS words of creation, commandments, law, gospels, palms, poem, songs, history, genealogies, prophecies, epistles, and revelation.
In them, nothing is mentioned about Mary’s assumption to heaven, that we must put our trust in her, kneel down before an image of a Virgin Mary, on the contrary it’s in contradiction to the commandments of GOD in the Old Testament.
Going back to Mary, like any human being, she died, and is resting in the presence of the Lord. How can a long dead person hear prayers of adoration, veneration, worship, or petitions said to her(?)
Therefore, we should honour, remember, and follow the life Mary had, a true servant of the Almighty GOD; However, never put her in the pedestal and worship her in any form - that only rightfully belongs to GOD.

You don’t even know the Ten Commandments! You pick and choose you words. God doesn’t mind pictures and Statues of HIS FRIENDS/SAINTS, as neither would you of yours! But I don’t think you kneel before them as gods. Neither does the Catholic Church. The First Commandment talks of idols becoming a “god” not of picture or statues that lift the soul to GOD! She is virgin before, during and after the birth of her divine son Jesus. She is full of grace and she is the mother of the Lord. She is now in heaven exalted by the Lord as Queen over all things.
