It is definitely time to part company with that transmission shop. It honestly looks like that was not a rebuilt transmission. I think that they are scammers
I bet they just clean the valve body out and call it a day.
Not with the amount of clutch material and metal that was in the pan. @@brianhoxworth3881
I like how Sean always looks happy to be at work. Always good to see the boys working in the shop. I'm sure they have learned a lot.
Look where he gets to work! Man, I'd love to work in a place that makes me happy, and everyone gets along, and are equals....except Hunter of course!
Hope you are fighting this company behind the scenes. Keep us updated.
I really admire the Fab Rats crew's restraint and professionalism because after the 4th transmission I don't know if I could go on without telling everyone about it. It's a shame that the transmission rebuild company is doing this, it gives everyone in the reman industry a bad rap.
I blew three transmissions in one summer before I learned to build my own for drag racing. I have not paid anyone to build a transmission for me since then. @@Duc-sl7rz
@@Duc-sl7rz I KNOW I would use the full force and promotion of my channel to blast this incompetent co. or person. All 4 trash? ... come on maaaan.....
Paul is hard on stuff, and needs transmissions.
Now he has one that is the builders fault,a parts failure,an installation error, or a procedure omitted. They have 4 failed transmissions ,one with no miles. Invaluable for detective work .
It is better to have someone who will work with you to figure out what is going wrong, where the weak points are and what works. Rebuilt to fit your needs. The Fab Rat special edition transmission. Costs big bucks, everything else is just a rebuilt transmission.
@@Duc-sl7rz When you run your own business you have to bite your lip and move on...dirty work is a behind closed doors thing. Slander of any kind will hurt someone and also yourself if not careful!
Paul you are a good dad, for all the stuff you do for and with your kids.
Agreeing with other comments that as much as I respect the fact that you don’t want to put that transmission company on blast, it’s the best way for others to not suffer your same fate. There’s some companies out there that just need to be avoided or need to learn the hard way.
Exactly, he does even have to put them on blast by calling out their shoddy work he can just mention their name saying I hope such and such will honor their warranty or will give my money back"
It would be nice to know, But it's not worth Fab Rats getting in a legal battle over when they can just get their money back most likely. They are smart to keep it a personal matter instead of publicly blasting the company. Even if they are in the right.
Now no one wants their trans being fixed in Utah, cuz they might get the bad shop. Everyone suffers
@@Leofred2000 if shop does not fix the issue he will but for the moment keep the out of spotlight and he got his money back!
Let's be realistic boys, look at a 50 to 100 mile radius around where their shop is based. Do a Google research session... then satisfy your curiosity. But honestly, most of their viewers are NO WHERE NEAR Utah. So fear of a shops bad transmission work on people's vehicles is silly. You'll just want the drama of naming names! 😂
I seldom leave comments, I really only watch a few RUclips channels. But I find I look for your video releases first. I loved it when your brother worked with you. I could never understand how you pulled that off. I understand completely when it broke down. I think your wife is gorgeous! And your children seem respectful & well behaved, you lucky man. Keep it coming & don't change a thing!
Here Here!
@gunnytinman Yes, I have gone to his channel. I realize it was a drive for him. I understand completely. I was just shocked he lasted so long doing that.
That company 100% needs to be called out. The reason companies do this stuff is because nobody calls them out. Not telling us so we can avoid dealing with the same company is also not great.
He can't say the name until he has proven to the company that they "erred" in sending him transmissions which weren't rebuilt; otherwise, he's looking at a lawsuit against Fab Rats (and himself). In addition, he may already have started a lawsuit and so can't reveal any names at this time.
Doubt that... he'll be money ahead by just not doing anything about it and never using them again..
Defamation sucks to deal with even if someone is in the wrong. If Paul calls them out and business slows or stops for the rebuild company they can sue and that is expensive
@@PGXPPR I don't believe calling out bad work from a company is defamation,
@@PGXPPR not even close to true. You can't sue someone for telling the truth.
Hunter chuckled when Jace said he wanted to paint the bumper white and so did I. Turned out looking awesome though! Sometimes it takes someone else stepping outside of the box to make us realize we don't all have to do things like everyone else does. Good job young man!
I KNEW IT the second I saw the title I knew it was a transmission problem 🤣🤣🤣 That sucks man, I don't know what kinda curse you got going on but maybe Shawn over at Rory's shop can help you clear it out 😂👍
Rory just brought his Buggy trans over to Grand Junction Co.
That dirty screen is why I keep reminding folks to add a power steering return line filter. They are relatively inexpensive and can save you a lot of grief and money over the years.
Best!
Hey guys, why don’t you weld in drain plugs in your trans pans?? Makes the job a lot less messy! 👍😁
Then you would not see the metal in the bottom of the pan . But an external oil filter like on the Alison transmission would be good on hard use transmissions
@@Kevin-ti3rz you are absolutely right about the external filters like a Allison uses I change the filter on mine once a year even though I’m nowhere near the mileage just so I can cut it open and inspect it
agreed and you'll still see if it's making metal, you just check the fluid in the drain pan or place a magnet on the bottom of the trans pan!
Your kids are the luckiest people I know, you are teaching them things they will never forget.
Yesterday I ate a Twinkie for the first time in years in solidarity with Michelle!
My son has a window regulator that needs replaced, however, he feels that under glow and exhaust tips are more important. Kids...
The longer it's in the shop the longer the transmission lasts
That's crazy 100% failure rate. I mean I could do better then that just going to the junkyard. I have only rebuilt one transmission so far and it's still working.
Damn Jalapeño poppers sound good for lunch now 😂
Absolutely put that company on blast, you've been scammed on 4 (four!!!) transmissions! They shouldn't get away with it.
No. Could be a bad batch of parts. Could be a new guy. Could be a bunch of things. You talk about them publicly after ever other avenue has failed
You don't put a new guy to build a customer 4 different transmissions, for 4 different vehicles and setups. You also can't blame bad parts across all 4 platforms.
@@williamuskoski1385
Still no excuse for 4 transmissions.
My bet is that anyone local watching knows what shop it is, small rural community like that. Anyone not local doesn't need to know - and it's generally not a good business practice to put other companies on blast, can make it difficult to get partners moving forward. This is a real pro move by the Fab Rats.
Yes, save someone else who probably can’t afford to be scammed
I didn't know i needed that hole puncher until this video. Now i cant live without it. It will be here by January 19th. I always thought they were way-out of my price range. Thanks for the tip Paul.
I won't on board with the orange paint, but after seeing it done it looks pretty good.Nice job Jace.
Hell nah ! If you were a brotha it might fit in & be cool . Whatever.
In orange you can really notice when its clean or covered in mud... that's the main reason nobody paint high pickup chasis in bright colours.
Handy to see if it's got a leak, looks better than covered in rust easier to wash dirt and mud off.
One thing with Orange everyone will know who it is. Even the cops.
Paul, I respect your patience if you are reimbursed 100% for the 4 faulty transmissions, but if not then I would definitely let your fans know who they definitely should avoid!
Paul you are such a kind person even when you’re mad at someone you still respect them. One of the many reasons I love this channel! You all rock!! And no Sean not your personality!! 😂 keep up the awesome content!
It's great to see you working with your son.👍
Finding a good transmission repair man was always a chore for us in TN, it was always hit or miss with the best that we could find or just throwing money away with most of them
I respect your decision to not put them on blast, but knowing what you have gone through not one of us would be upset. In fact we would welcome the knowledge of who not go have rebuild our item for our vehicles. Love this show.
We have a dirt oval track in Oxford, ME. The drivers have found out that tire sizes differ depending on the manufacturer. They are required to have all 4 tires the same size but not necessarily the same manufacturer. It allows for the constant left turns without heavily modifying the caster/camber for straight away track.
Driving through Oxford on my way to sunday river right now. Reading these fine comments while my wife is driving. We go to the dirt track in the summer.
Maine crew!
I liked Jace's idea of the lights underneath but it looks great either way.
The lights underneath 100% looked better lol
Paul as a father of two adult boys I have to complement you on being a good father! As a welder and industrial fabricator I would have loved to build jeeps with my boys. I know they are many ups and downs but it a good opportunity to teach your boys how to rebuild a transmission 🤔
Glad to see Landen making a bigger presence on the channel.
Good morning everyone and thumbs UP to Fab Rats!!
Hey, I didn’t know about the white bumper, I thought it might not be the best option, but it looks great 👍 With the lights and winch being black, that sets it off! Great job Jase, it will make a nice ride! I’m telling you Paul, a great transmission guy is worth his weight in gold, they seem to be far and few between them! I don’t understand why more young people don’t try to learn the profession!
It's great to watch paul and the whole family work together. and to see paul does get upset once in a while.
12:32 .. " ... it doesn't build pressure, and it squeals" ... That squealing is the pressure relief, by-pass valve, opening up ... this drops pressure drastically .. and exists, to protect the hoses and seals from blowing! :)
The Dakota looks pretty darn good after Jace's paint job.
I was thinking since he’s painting things it should be Fab Rats 2.0.
@larrydavidson3402 Whats wrong with you.
Yes... after a few days you will see how clean it looks, there is a reason nobody paint it that way, only if you have a show truck.
@@hansybarraa good glossy paint job on an undercarriage gives mud less to stick to and makes it clean up a lot easier with a pressure washer.
@@OwensGarage Its not an anti-mud technology, its just paint, the mud a dirt will stick in the first dirty puddle that splashed on it. He will have to wash the truck almost every day.
That dakota looks amazing. Can't wait until I see that thing climbing...
For your arc droid, make a spring loaded grease pencil holder to mimic the plas torch path to draw your cut b-4 you cut.
Those lights on top of the hoop. Lol
You gave him sights to take out deer 🦌 with. 🎯
If it was 4 transmissions rebuilt at the same time it could be faulty parts, or a rebuilders bad day. Give them the opportunity to make it right and then we will see. Mistakes happen it's how they correct the error that matters. They may just do it right because they do it twice. 😉
Shout out to Fab Rats, just received a hoodie from you guys. Quality is really great, an exceptional value. Thank you.
good to see pappa dar back on the scene again, is he all healed up now, love the channel
My heart dropped when I saw that pan... It's a sick feeling.
I would go talk to that transmission company if they don't give your money back blast them online bud. Great video like always
He can't say the name until he has proven to the company that they "erred" in sending him transmissions which weren't rebuilt; otherwise, he's looking at a lawsuit against Fab Rats (and himself). In addition, he may already have started a lawsuit and so can't reveal any names at this time.
100% it's not always about the money , it's the principle of screwing people!
@lebotnov66 What in the hell are you talking about.
We have seen all the videos, so Paul has already proved that the Transmissions are junk right from the time of putting them in the vehicles. Video doesn't lie, People do IMHO.
It's easy for the company to throw it back and say that since they're not a registered repair shop they're a bunch of guys with a camera who have no idea what they're doing and every issue was installer error like not replacing the radiator or transmission cooler after the old transmission blew up. We know that's a load of lies but good luck proving them wrong in court without receipts for new parts.
Nice that you got Jace's truck done the black and white look sharp the orange is each their own on to other things
You not blasting that transmission shop online proves that you are a class act Paul. I certainly hope they look after you though.
Jace's truck looks great! He's a lucky kid.
Jasper transmission. Mega cab has 50 k zero issues, better than before and I’m towing g 14 k fifth wheel. They warranty for 100k. Super happy
I think I’ll just take a chance and rebuild my own transmission after this haha.
It can be a very educational experience, and some are not too complicated to do. I've torn a few down before and reassembled that worked.
I Frankensteined a Chrysler 41te ultra drive for a 95 caravan, bits and pieces from 3 different trannys, and it worked!
the next time we see that truck you will be rebuilding the trany 😢
You couldn’t do any worse than that supposed professional shop did.
Landyn gave me a moment of panic when he stuck his fingers in that punch when Sean was removing the air lines from the trigger!
if that pan was on goldrush that be a great pan of colors
I like Jace’s priorities! Looking cool is a must 😎
Every time you guys pull an automatic, it definitely reminds me of my love for manual transmissions.
Get that lad a paint booth!!! New truck is lookin' rad.
You forgot to get a sharpie and write Brembo on those painted calipers 😂
Good job on Dakota, and Good to see Papa Dar.
It still blows my mind that yall arent at 1mil subs. Come on yall. I know you guys watch the vids and arent subscribed to these guys channel. Hit the subscribe and bell. It helps Paul and the fabrats family continue to make awesome content. Lets go!!! 1 million subs
“Yall”. 😂😂😂. Hillbilly chic.
From my seat here on the couch, the paint work on the truck looks pretty nice ! 👍
I love that Dakota. It’s a shame about the transmission issues for sure
Hey Paul working with steel a lot in fabrication you ought to look up a machine we called it Perana it cuts angle ,sheers, punches holes or squares, lots of stuff you can do with it
I wonder if AAMCO has an unlimited transmission rebuild offer 😂
They rebuilt the transmission (4L60E) in my coworkers 2010 Sierra 4 times! He eventually took it to a local shop, paid the money again and got a good transmission. He said the truck shifts properly and feels like it picked up 100hp.
Aamco wanted $1000 to replace the case half on my transfer case, with me pulling it! I bought a kit with updated case saver online for $300 and did it myself.
Love that truck.
The ol Dakota’s are awesome . Can’t wait too see it wheelin . Keep at er fella’s !
Was all 4 transmissions the same, or could they have possibly put the incorrect parts in
Jase is extremely fortunate to have a Dad like Paul! Great video. Merry Christmas!
If you cared about us not getting ripped off as well you would reveal the name of the company so we can avoid them
He can't say the name until he has proven to the company that they "erred" in sending him transmissions which weren't rebuilt; otherwise, he's looking at a lawsuit against Fab Rats (and himself). In addition, he may already have started a lawsuit and so can't reveal any names at this time.
100%
@@SlickBubbles Bullshit, he absolutely can say I bought four transmissions from company X, and every single one of them was junk.
@@danielstewart7732I’d like to hear him say the name but he has better leverage to resolve the situation, through legal recourse or not, if he doesn’t.
@danielstewart7732 exactly!! He's got it all on video if they need to be reminded 😂😂
I like Dar's "expectations didn't meet realization"......one of life's regulars. It's a good thing you all have learned to bend & not break.
It's got a orange pumpkin!try caving that one.looks cool bro!!!
You need to catch a break Paul. Gotta say, you teaching your kids stuff, is inspirational mate.
For people not a confident on reworking those parts in power steering pump go to pick a part and get ones from a 1 ton dodge or ford same Results
Hell yeah!! It's coming together beautifully 😍
I love the Dakota. I had a 95. With the 5.9 and a 2000 with the 4.7. Awesome trucks. They ripped
Gotta say, "It's so enjoyable watching a close knit family, showing love and support for each other". That is what makes this channel one of the very BEST channels on YT. Thanks for sharing and thanks for ALL your efforts! We love the content, but we love, the love MORE!
Love that he needed to paint the suspension... but the rest of the body paint is "minty" too
@19:44 I work in manufacturing and wear ear plugs all day. On my breaks I put in airpods and listen to music. I was pretty tired the other day and put my airpod in an ear without taking my earplug out first. Glad I'm not alone with this mistake.
Hey guys, I just wanted to let you know. Your channel is great! Any haters have never done anything in life. They are jealous of success and don't know how to be successful. Keep up the great work!
Any time is great when you can spend it with your children. MEMORIES ❤
I didn't realize that if you use headphones and someone videos and is eating you can hear them. 😮😂 Keep it up, love watching you guys!
I don't know transmissions, but I have rebuilt one 3 times. Once a year. Then I put a shift kit in it recommended by the trans shop I was getting the kits from. They told me someone most likely put a shift kit in it before I got it and did not drill one hole in the valve body. They saw it all the time and said people install the kit but don't drill a hole because they just skip the step or loose the nerve to cut holes in the valve body. Sure enough, the hole was not drilled. I drilled it and put it back together. Nice hard shifts and no issues for years afterwards! Beats pulling the trans again! Maybe you should give it a try?
Good call on the white bumper, Jace. Lot's of Fab Rat magic made the Dakota pleasing to the eye and functional !
1963/64.......ORANGE spray paint on same areas of our kid vehicles. Brings me back; Thanks for the look back.
I had to warranty return 6 transmissions in 6 months to the same company. Owner finally got one from another company. Haha 😂 Hang in there and God Bless 😊
Jace, looks great! Well done!
Sorry for the miss print that is what dodge called an A518 trans which is a 727torqflite with an overdrive great transmission if you knoe hoe to build them i built them for yrs in the dealerships love the dodge build for your son
This is pretty awesome seeing Paul and the boys do things together. Make every moment last and enjoy it.
I found that the office flat wire track works very well when running wires under the carpet and it protects them from nicks and cuts.
Paul, you worry about your ears all the time. But, what about your eyes you only get one set of those too. You have a lot of safety glasses laying around Please wear them!! Your mods are great and Jace's rattle can painting is fantastic. Especially the orange as that is my favorite color!
Sounds like the same people that did my transmission. 47RH for a Cummins that turned out to be for a V10. Was run long enough to load it onto a trailer then unload it at a real transmission shop. Same thing, LOTS of metal! Had to be completely overhauled again with the correct parts and the correct governor.
You guys do a segment about all the bad comments but no one with the good comments, I personally love it when Sean’s on here, I do agree there is not enough knives in the world to make Hunter a man, Paul Don’t look fat and I have not seen Michelle yet so it’s a great episode!
Jace's truck looks pretty sweet! Great memory for me growing up was working on my Toyota 4WD pickup with my Dad, may he RIP. Told him I wanted an upgraded clutch for off-road use and he said "no problem!" I went and bought the parts and we changed it out on the driveway with a floor jack and a creeper. Mostly him, but I knew enough to help a little!
Jase's dakota is looking awesome. now just gotta add a KC light bar across the roof and tint the windows.
Looking good, feel bad about the whole transmission shop debauchery. Thanks for including us in this father/family and son build.
Wasn't sure @ first when I saw the orange but @ the end it looks pretty cool. Congrats Jace!
I think the orange looks great! Way to go.
I had to replace the transmission in my daughter's 04 Silverado 4 times and the first 3 was from Monster Transmission. It was not a good experience with them, I will never use them again. Not a single one of them went more than 300 miles.
❤ Kind of nice to see Finally, see some parts getting painted on this channel.🎉😂
2 things.. the way Papa Dar looks at how you do things speaks volumes to how good a mechanic you really are and hunter needs to lay off the bottle, it's all fun n games till you late for work 🤨 just playin, but for real 🤨 love you guys, stay making the best content on RUclips!
I like how your boys are a split of you. You are a guy who likes too take care of stuff but also uses it and gets sketchy with it. Landon uses the crap outta stuff and tears it up but helps rebuild it. Jace is the takes care of stuff guy uses but doesn't get as sketchy.
Jace’s Dakota,I have to say it looks good. Go figure, teenager on the rattle can for the win. Thanks for sharing.
Paul, make a trip to Spokane and drop off all your transmissions at Louis transmission. He’s an angry old Asian guy, but a brilliant transmission builder.
I'm thinking Jace has been watching some Zip Ties and Bias Plies. Fn mint!
Paul its great to see y'all getting together and building your son a nice ride and letting him have it done the way he wants. The fun the off-road community has together is more than out on the trail, working in the shop is just as much fun most of the time. The world needs more Dad's spending time with there kids and teaching them about life . Great job
That white bumper and guard look pretty good on there.
wow jase truck paint - looks good truck is nice = love how you guys take care to help each other
The truck looks sick with the painted parts! Orange is my color, so i really like it even though its a dodge!😂
