There's been very little gallantry among men in the music industry - players, managers, or record company types - except when it comes to Linda Ronstadt. They seemed devoted. Even with many predators around she seemed to have rare protectors.
I'm fairness what you are calling ear buds, are smaller versions of the monitors she has standing on the floor in front of her. Without them the musicians can not hear themselves play. Have a player loose their monitor and you can hear some pretty bad tunes.
I saw her in the 70s at the Alladin Theater in Las Vegas. Second row center stage. I remember it like it was yesterday. Brings a tear to my eye 45 years later.
love that movie. thanks to James Cameron for featuring this song in The Abyss. about 10 years ago it got me to re-explore the music of Little Feat and i finally saw them live earlier this summer in the most amazing outdoor setting
amazing songstress and ...never ever heard her with a band that was equal! she always had mad talent around her.. noticed Waddy Wachtel, a favorite of mine on here.
I've likened Linda's voice and talent to that of a flood plain. One like her's only comes along every 10, 25, 50, 100 or 500 years. She was born in 1946, 1967 her first hit, 1974 her breakout year, 1977 super star and rock and roll's first queen. I'll let you start the clock
Andrew Gold (guitar solo) was a key part of her sound during my favorite era (mid-70s). Also nice to see Mike Botts on drums, after his stint with Bread and before becoming Dan Fogelberg's road drummer.
Oh man, do I LOVE THIS TUNE ! And for everyone who says "If you remember anything from that time, you weren't stoned enough", I say, "Surprise, Surprise"! 😂🎉😊
I been warped by the rain, driven by the snow I'm drunk and dirty, don't you know But I'm still willin' Out on the road late last night I'd see my pretty Alice in every headlight Alice, Dallas Alice And I've been from Tucson to Tucumcari Tehachapi to Tonopah Driven every kind of rig that's ever been made Driven the backroads so I wouldn't get weighed And if you give me weed, whites and wine And you show me a sign And I'll be willin' to be movin' And I've been kicked by the wind, robbed by the sleet Had my head stove in but I'm still on my feet And I'm still willin' And I smuggled some smokes and folks from Mexico Baked by the sun every time I go to Mexico Ah but I'm still And I've been from Tucson to Tucumcari Tehachapi to Tonopah Driven every kind of rig that's ever been made Driven the backroads so I wouldn't get weighed And if you give me weed, whites and wine And you show me a sign And I'll be willin' to be movin'
I love you, Linda ❤
My mother died tonight.
I need your voice right now.
So sorry to hear.....God Bless Her
Sorry for your loss, mine is gone now too, may God bring you comfort.
I’m so sorry.😢
I was a senior in HS in Nov 76. I loved Little Feat and I loved Linda. I'm 64 now and still do. Thanks for this vid!!
As the ultimate Little Feat fan she sings this song so great. Love you Lowell.
The days when artists like Linda had to rely on pure talent and she had it spades!
There's been very little gallantry among men in the music industry - players, managers, or record company types - except when it comes to Linda Ronstadt. They seemed devoted. Even with many predators around she seemed to have rare protectors.
Great comment and insight Sal...men respected her
Linda was beloved in a way that was rare back then - still pretty damn unusual - she was a rare songbird. Gorgeous voice, vibe and a gorgeous heart.
No gadgets, no ear buds for feedback, no words to the songs on a TV monitor, nothing but LINDA singing her best!
No big light show or fireworks. Just a band and an amazing voice! God bless Linda!
@@geneo1976 ya a real band
Perfection. As usual.

And nothing wrong with in ear monitors, they reduce hearing loss.

You are lucky. I only got to see her in huge Memorial Auditorium in Dallas. 🎶❤️🌹
A concert to remember for a lifetime!
I saw her in Dallas, 1975 I think. Great seats on first row! Amazing experience.
Gorgeous heartbreaking voice and she sounded like...herself. No pretentious BS. Clear, pure and unadorned. Linda Live...
You are so

Pride of Germany 🇩🇪. She was mostly German by a good bit. We love her as we all do
Entonces hizo su concierto en la tierra de sus ancestros...bonita chica alemana
Beautiful in every respect!!

I've watched The Abyss enough times and it finally led me here. Great song.

I just discovered this song... Wow
Legendary talent, a national treasure indeed
70's 80's and some of 90's were the years of good music. Still to this day....
Smokin'
Her best performance of this classic song!
Wow. She was just so incredible. Her career took off when I was 19 but I wasn’t a fan. Looking back I can see how incredible she was then.
She kicked the shit out of that, what a singer 👍 x
Man. That girl could sing. Linda was really looking and sounding special here.
amazing songstress and ...never ever heard her with a band that was equal! she always had mad talent around her.. noticed Waddy Wachtel, a favorite of mine on here.
It's January 24th 2025, and I had no idea Linda Ronstadt covered this song, till just now! Oh how she did a wonderful job.❤❤❤

I’ve always thought this is one of the very best songs for Linda to sing cause it shows so much of her range so beautifully.
¡¡¡ MUCHAS FELICIDADES LINDA!!! TE QUEREMOS DESDE MADRID ( Spain)

Simply the Best. Period .
Correct and she will always hold that title. Never again will this planet ever see her like. She was the ultimate never to be de-throned.

When its my to go at th gates of heaven I’ll tell Saint Peter I know this song by heart then I will find mom and dad and Eddie and give them a bighug
I’ve loved you Linda for many year’s
I been warped by the rain, driven by the snow
I'm drunk and dirty, don't you know
But I'm still willin'
Out on the road late last night
I'd see my pretty Alice in every headlight
Alice, Dallas Alice
And I've been from Tucson to Tucumcari
Tehachapi to Tonopah
Driven every kind of rig that's ever been made
Driven the backroads so I wouldn't get weighed
And if you give me weed, whites and wine
And you show me a sign
And I'll be willin' to be movin'
And I've been kicked by the wind, robbed by the sleet
Had my head stove in but I'm still on my feet
And I'm still willin'
And I smuggled some smokes and folks from Mexico
Baked by the sun every time I go to Mexico
Ah but I'm still
And I've been from Tucson to Tucumcari
Tehachapi to Tonopah
Driven every kind of rig that's ever been made
Driven the backroads so I wouldn't get weighed
And if you give me weed, whites and wine
And you show me a sign
And I'll be willin' to be movin'
thanks
