Not sure if SK realizes it, but his discomfort/awkwardness with these types of interviews is part of what makes him so interesting and endearing. He’s just so genuine and not just trying to pump sponsors. Also I wouldn’t be surprised at all if he’s a real threat at the Classic this year. Go Steve!

I never followed Steve. Then I drew Steve as a Marshall on the Sabine last year. After having some engaging conversation all day, Steve Kennedy had a new fan for life.
Steve is one of my favorite guys to watch on live. I hope he’s around for a long time to come. Maybe 2023 he’ll win that classic!

I have always followed Steve Kennedy. His approach to tourneys and sponsors is what drew me to him. Seeing him fishing with the big boys and not wearing the jersey with 100 stickers on it, is what made me start researching him. Dude is super smart and knows how to succeed.

Steve kennedy doesn’t fish derbies for fame or notoriety. He’s a hardcore fish head like us. He’d fish every day if he could. I really feel like he fishers tournaments just because he loves to fish. He embodies “for love of the game” . Thanks so much for this. I get he has anxiety , but he has more detail knowledge and understanding of the minutia of bass fishing than any of us can gather in 5 lifetimes. Good job davey boy having him on!

Been looking forward to this one for a while Dave! I remember Tommy Biffle (let me pick that name up) telling me at one time that Steve was the absolute best fisherman on tour and it wasn’t even close.

Awesome interview Mercer, Steve is one if not my all time favorite Him and Clunn. And I also agree with him on the doing away with getting rid of 30 percent of the field so quick there has to be a better way for the old guys to stay on board .
This one has sent me down more rabbit holes then any interview yet... From searching that lost bass to him fishing in the white waters at the pickwick dam. I have been looking for it ALL. LOL

I have always been a fan of Steve Kennedy. He’s the guy they may not be anyones “favorite” angler, but you always end up rooting for him in the end. He only seems to do really well when I DON’T pick him in fantasy lol. I’ll make sure to NOT pick him for this years Classic lineup. I’d love to see him win it. Great show as usual.
My pick for this week is B. Lester. I think he has a lot of momentum coming off of the Opens win, and he had been fishing in FL for some time. He should be more familiar with the predominant pattern(s) than the rest of the field.

Dave you're 10,000% correct there. I don't know about outside of "his" comfort zone, but I think Steve's comfort zone is outside of the normal element and where he does his BEST! Everyone is throwing a swimbait on Clear Lake in 2006 and Steve said he upsized from a 6 or 8 inch to a 10 inch swimbait to keep the bait away from the 6lbers and specifically target 8+ pounders. Everyone else would just catch quantity and cull all day, but Steve says I need to do something different NOW and that's where the man excels!!!

When was the last time you pitched over your head out in front of you to hit a bass mouth? Won't happen unless the water you're pitching to is above you,how realistic is that?

I have two bedrooms or a place to park and hook up an RV. he or any other pro is welcome to a free stay if they want to come practice or heck if the timing is a right a night time topwater walleye tour.

A lot of people find him somewhat quirky and awkward in some interviews. However, these “things” are make Steve who Steve is. If you do some digging, he’s one of the ones that’s stood the test of time, he’s got arguably one of highest IQ’s of any pro but what makes him awesome is he also has a sense of humor, and great personality. He loves the fishing aspect and not so much the mic or camera but graciously never says no
