    A war drum track that I made, combined with some warrior's shouts. I wanted to make a piece of music that contains nothing but percussion, something that you could put in the background of a movie scene where an army gets ready for battle.
    Bushido means "The way of the warrior" in Japanese, it is the philosophy of the Samurai.
    As always, 100% self composed, on drums this time.
    The picture is from Sucker Punch. (I can't confirm it since I actually don't know what it is, but I've been told so)

    Bushido had seven virtues:
    1. Justice or Rectitude (義 gi)
    This is all about making sure that we have the right way when we make a decision. That we have the power to make a decision quickly. It is about making sure that we do not become indecisive and that our decisions are made and based on the right reasons.
    2. Courage (勇 yū)
    This is about making sure that what we do is right and that we have the courage to do the right thing and not just what people think we should do. If we are raised in a particular way, we think in a way that we belief in. this is about making sure we do what we believe in and have the courage to do so.
    3. Benevolence or Mercy (仁 jin)
    As a warrior, the Samurai have the power to kill. However, benevolence is about making sure that you are balanced in how you think. It is about making sure that you also have sympathy and mercy at the right time. For the Samurai it was about making sure you fought for the right reason and that if you had to kill someone, you did it for the right reason and your belief but that you also make sure that if there was no need to kill you would have mercy and be sympathetic.
    4. Respect (禮 rei)
    It is important that in everything they believe, they must have respect and be polite in everything. The way they live their life meant they must be respectful of their elders, they must respect life, respect others beliefs.
    5. Honesty (誠 makoto)
    Honesty was very important, as they believe that being honest in everything you do gives you respect and means you can be trusted.
    6. Honour (名誉 meiyo)
    To live and die with honor was very important to the Samurai. Everything they did was honorable which meant they did everything in what they believed with honor.
    7. Loyalty (忠義 chūgi)
    Loyalty was probably one of the very important parts of what they did. They treated each other like family and would do everything within their power to protect and help their samurai warriors. Loyalty was important because this means they can trust their warriors and know they would be loyal to whatever they needed to do and not worry about loosing their respect.

    • @andrew9371

      Michael Guy no the musket replaced the bow because it was point and click instead of training with a bow for 6 years ad still not even have it be even close to as accurate, when the japanese found out about the musket they immediately saw it advantage over the bow and bought flintlock rifles that they then reverse engineered and began mass producing smart adaptive bastards

      Andrew Caputo But also because of the loud noise of the gunfire, which made it a real morale destroyer. Also, early guns weren't very accurate at all, that's why you had to set up a line of gunners in order to have any hope of doing real damage.

    • @ihavetheherpes
      @ihavetheherpes 10 лет назад

      Quinlan McNoland It's not a pure pro. Having your location know to everyone is not ideal, but the trade-off is worth it because of the range and ease of use.

    • @lujoja8226
      @lujoja8226 9 лет назад +3

      Andrew Caputo No. The big bonus of black powder weaponry, like muskets, was the noise. It crushed enemy morale. Otherwise, bows were much more effective weapons. Bows had better fire rate, better accuracy and better range. A musket took so long to reload and was only effective at virtually point blank. Musketeers required extensive training and drilling just as much as any militia. Muskets were just as likely to misfire, miss their target completely or worse still - explode in the users face. They were very unreliable weapons.
      During the battle of Waterloo in 1815, some of the fiercest fighting between Emperor Napoleon's French army and the coalition of Duke Wellington's British, Blücher Prussians, and the Duke of Orange's Dutch took place inside farmhouses - they were stood mere feet from each other in close quarters combat and there are many accounts of muskets missing from under ten feet away from the opponent. It was like Russian roulette, each side just (slowly) reloaded their muskets and shot at each other until eventually they hit their target. This is Britain, France and Prussia - the elite of Europe. They had the best armies in the world at the time. They were so well drilled and disciplined, and yet they were missing from point blank? Muskets were terrible weapons. Why do you think that musket armed armies fought rank and file? They didn't aim - it was a waste of time since the balls flew out randomly. They just lined up to cover more area, pointed the gun in the general direction of the enemy and all the men in the line fired a cohesive volley in the hope that some of the balls found their targets.
      It wasn't until rifled barrels were invented that firearms reached their true potential...
