Those tires are no joke!!! I thought you were kidding, I can't imagine how difficult it would be changing a tire on one's own!, looks amazing, someday I wish I can do that to my XJ
I have got to admit I have never seen anyone bet their bearings so proficiently. When we filled bearings we used a sweeping motion, I think I like your method better, looks like it gets the job done much faster.
This is a great looking carrier BleepingJeep. Very good design. Is the latch a two stage catch?. Just like a car door type. I don't want to be picky but I think you have installed the grease seal upside down. That thin section of rubber that stands up that you faced down is meant to rub on a flat surface on the stub axle and seal out dirt/sand. If you look at the steel section of the seal, look at the end you are hitting with the punch carefully you will notice it has a chamfer. This makes starting or inserting the seal into the housing easy. Trailer axel seal it is and they are fitted this way. Also grease the seal's lips before fitting on to the stub shaft or axel. The main lip is the one with the small tension spring on the inside of it. The way you fitted it this spring is now exposed to the weather or elements. Springs are only on good quality seals. I like all the work you do on the Jeeps. It's good to see someone having a go.
Bleepinjeep could you do another video on a different rear tire carrier? This is an awesome video, I love to see it w a different tire carrier. The JCR is cool but @ $1800 (after you add the powdercoat and brackets for rotopack+jack) it is crazy expensive. Think of all the other things you could do w/ that $$$$. Are there any other rear tire carriers you'd recommend?
This video is 7 years old and this is still one of the best looking tyre carriers on the market. The only thing I don’t like is that it blocks the indicators a bit.
I screwed up and bought the OR FAB Cut n Fold rear bumper. It's a great bumper, but I want a tire carrier, so I can use the back for more camping gear.. Gonna have to make a custom hitch carrier now..
When I was in the Army years ago, we used to pack wheel bearings by taking a large glob of grease; then holding the new bearing in one hand, force the clean bearing into the grease, while moving it around in a circle. Then once you finished you would wipe off the extra grease, or just push the greased bearing into the wheel......
dumber is that it completely covers the license plate. I have never liked a swing-away tire carrier. I like having sight out my rear window. I carry my spare on my roof rack, plus there, it's weight is evenly distributed on the vehicle.
Hey! Question for you, do you still own this bumper and tire carrier? I have the same one but for my 03 TJ. I have all of the accessory parts except for the rotopax mounts. Unfortunately, JCR discontinued the bumper/tire carrier and the accessory parts. I have reached out and they said they wouldn't be able to help. I am wondering if you are able to take some measurements for me so that I can have a set fabricated. Unless of course you are willing to sell them! Let me know! Thanks!
Well as fan and an xj owner myself with long arm / Travel custom built by me and a 4-link coil spring upgrade instead of Leaf springs this tire carrier is much too heavy and then to having to hang a oversized 32x12.50 x 15 tire and wheel on it will overtake the enjoyed spring rates the owner enjoyed prior to install. They fail to mention this and how expensive the alternatives to buying extra spring for both leaf springs or coils, to compensate. This is an upgrade that would be wise at time of build. It’s is HIGHLY recommended
I can tell you exactly how it's held up. Quite well. Latch still works. Only lube the pin occasionally or it will stick. Jeep has run a lot of washes and rough roads. Minor rattle. I run a 33 10.50 15 to reduce weight. Also installed a rear camera.
I like that, wonder if its still available 7 years later, wouldn't mind having 1 made from aircraft grade aluminum, but would angle it outward at the 2 ends so tire and rack has a bit more space tween it and the back of the XJ rear hatch!😏
I enjoyed this video, I like build videos in general, but I have a question: What happens if you get a flat tire when you're out in the boonies? Getting the spare off the carrier isn't too much of a problem if you're careful, but how do you get the flat tire back onto the carrier? Do they make a small winch for it? We aren't all muscle men.
Use a ratchet strap off your roof rack rails to lift it up or run a board to the bumper roll it up an pivot onto the mount but honestly just don’t go out alone would be best practice
Derik Card if you require only one use IF your very careful, from the Harbor freight bearing and race drivers, when if you are willing to spend just a little more an American made set by any manufacturer would be the better and safer advice. They will tend to out last their owner and the next owner. Hoping no one took your advice and bought the Chinese version im sure they are missing a finger or hand or something. I try never to recommend Chinese junk. It’s dangerous. I know this is an old post, but one day it’s likely to come back to bite you, referring harbor freight hand tools. Not sure why we even let them off the ship. It’s not worthy of the name tool.
What did you think of those general tires? A friend of mine had them on his truck and he didn't seem to care for em. I was just curious as I believe he is just not driving right but what do I know, lol
Car Maniac125 Federal M/T Couragias. Cheap as fuck, last forever for their aggressive tread, UPS and Fedex use these in winter. They hold up good on the trail. Price is right to buy two and not care vs more expensive tires. Downside is road noise. I don't mind road noise. Should get two years out of them. simpletire.com/federal-lt235-75r15-46ce53fa-tires?stmodel=couragia-m-t&stcategory=mud-terrain&sttype=light-truck&gclid=Cj0KCQjwu_jYBRD8ARIsAC3EGCJgXUmXQPKH-uWBG3miu116ibiGTpUZTnDu6lfyWXseIKDXNfTDpQgaAnW1EALw_wcB
I've been looking for something JUST like this, but for the WJ Grand Cherokee. Got any links to one? I won't how hard it would be to modify one of these to work with a WJ?
+20mayfield I believe that video was made before I got a real IR air gun... the Husky can't even torque them down enough and I have to tighten afterwards by hand.
no I meant, the airgun would hammer them on so tight, a normal car brace isn't enough to change the tyre if you get a flat. When I get my Jeep home from a service, I can never get the lug nuts off without a extended bar - even snapped one off.

This is much better thought out than some others ones I've seen. I really like the small thoughtful details incorporated into it.
I have got to admit I have never seen anyone bet their bearings so proficiently. When we filled bearings we used a sweeping motion, I think I like your method better, looks like it gets the job done much faster.
It's hard to tell since I'm watching on my phone.. but I think you put the seal in backwards.. it looked like the lip (with spring) was facing out.
I love your channel I just bought a 1991 and your jeep is the inspiration for how I want to build my jeep! thank you for your channel and great feed!
I worked in the shipping department at JCR for a little while. those tire carriers were fun to box up lol
tyler geipel everything comes in rectangular boxes now with foam.
yep, spraying that foam in the boxes got interesting at times lol
That looks so well made and expensive. Great vid
That unit looks SHARP! I like it!

Damn man...I let my son watch this & ur on the screen greasing up and slappin that bearing.
God bless your mailman!
Nice install. Looks solidly built.

I have to say that I really enjoy your videos. Just bought a 98 zj. Hoping to build an overland out of it.
Before installing the spindle to the bumper you can use it to set the lower bearing.
This would definitely be worth the time to do
I have an 01 Cherokee with no rust whatsoever on the body
I have never saw anyone pack a wheel bearing like that. It gave me a good laugh.
retiredppd I thought you push it in from your palm, not pat it in
You have to admit that it did work though.
Easily the most R-rated BleepinJeep video out there
retiredppd That’s actually how you packet dumbass
Sounds like Rudy is an expert in packing
This video is 7 years old and this is still one of the best looking tyre carriers on the market. The only thing I don’t like is that it blocks the indicators a bit.
I drilled holes and add grease nipple in my tire carrier so I can top up my grease

same here.. don't hurt to dream wright?
+javier hernandez yup I hear the 1999 had the best engine
+Jose Pt Tellez nope nope nope....98 is the last good year after that they have block cracking issues.
Not block cracking , 0331 stamped heads have head cracking issues
bentovergarage Wrong
Great vid, I used coiled wire for my license plate lamp and 3rd brake lamp on my TJ, helps with the swing out.
Those birds chirping are so peaceful
Did anyone else notice that this tire carrier entirely blocks BOTH reverse lights?
Yes lmao! Jeeps have never been much about safety.
The bumper has cutouts for LED lighting
Real men don't ever need to go backwards!
who are reverse lights for anyway?
dumber is that it completely covers the license plate. I have never liked a swing-away tire carrier. I like having sight out my rear window. I carry my spare on my roof rack, plus there, it's weight is evenly distributed on the vehicle.
Love the mail man helping lift the tire Lol
Enjoy your stuff Matt. Good Job of showing your work in a fun way.
Hello, thank you for your video, it is very detailed.
I've been looking for that rear bumper for a while, do you know if I can buy it somewhere?

Do they make this anymore? I cant seem to find it anywhere.
Does the rear even still open up with that installed? Must weigh a ton
This is the best project I've seen so far. Great job
Is that bumper and carrier still available?
Mom-“what are you watching?!?” Me-“How to pack grease”
That is a sick rear bumper kit. Wow I need this for my xj

I wish they'd make some of this stuff for my 4Runner!
Very nice I subscribe cause my pore 96 Jeep is parked bad knocking. Going to put new motor in soon. And want to fix it up thanks for your help
bearing race driver set from harbor freight for about $15-20 bucks would help tremendously in setting that seal...
also a bearing packer for about the same price...

How much total for bumper and the carrier? I know depends on vehicle. Mine is 1991 Ford Bronco XLT..
Should add a grease fitting to the hinge so you can grease it without taking it all apart again.
Total weight of bumper and tire carrier portion? (without tire, hilift etc)
gotta tighten up that bumper.. or weld it on... when you lifted the tire carrier, you could see the bumper bending from the jeep
azzkicker1337 well, maybe with some body stiffeners...
how many times did u put that part on loosely
Nice work 👍
With my best regards
From RIYADH Capitol of SAUDI ARABIA
Great video! I have that bumper and carrier & i love it! Very well built & it looks great
I sure would like to purchase just the latch assembly and the locking pin assembly for a custom project I'm working on
Maybe they'll smarten up and make the carrier out of aluminum light and strong
14:00 take out the air. It's gonne be lighter 😂
add some helium
Where did you get the XJ painted? Looks like a pretty good paint job.
Do they still make this tire carrier?
They have a vanguard bumper but I dont see the carrier.
What color is your Jeep? It's pretty much exactly what I want!
Army green? I think its a custom colour.
I'm about to buy a used one of these. How is it working since this install?
I was waiting on you to put the spare on a jack to get it up to the carrier.
Love the bumper and the carrier! I am deciding between the xrc and this one. Whats the wheels brand / make?
feet women
What color would you call the paint job on your truck?
Hey matt do you know if they still over this bumper set up i dont see it on their site i really want this rear bumper
Where did you find that f

you have to take the plate off to take the spare off ? spare tires impacted on how are you gonna get it off on a trail
suchasreallife
Mall crawlers don't go on the trail lol

AAA going to take that tire off. Kid can't even lift his 34 10s lol
Yeah that would be super tough to take the license plate off....
Good morning they ship the products to Perú?
id like to see most people try to lift a 35 with wheel. not to mention generals weigh three times a normal tire...
tom Placentia The General tire with the Raceline wheel weighs 92lbs.
Did they discontinue this? I can't find it on their website

Impact on the trail!! Lol i always carry my 1/2 Drive Dewalt XR 20V 1200ft-lb torque impact with me!!! I do not carry a 4-way anymore!!!!
How much are your muffler bearings?
So can this be installed on a different rear bumper?
I have a 2000 Chevy Blazer and I'm trying to find a tire carrier similar to this-does anyone have any suggestions?
I wonder where do u install your rear view camera if the tire carrier is installed and the tow bar
Rear camera is above license plate in center of wheel.
That looks awesome, shit load of weight on the rear suspension though, combined with that rear bar
I've a zj and I'd like to buy the front and the back bumper like yours, but I don't know where. Do You have some website to buy the bumpers?
jcroffroad.com
i have a 01 jeep grand cherokee do u have any wed sites that i can get something like that and any other body armer and bumpers
Now it just needs to have a little crane installed on the carrier to lower and raise the wheel.
Great videos so far! What kind of bumper do you have on the rear that you mounted the swing arm to? Thanks!
JCR Off-Road rear bumper and rear bumper accessories. Then there are the rotopax, the high lift jack and the license plate relocation bracket.
soo if u really need that tire how are u A. gonna get it off since its air gunned on....and B put that dead tire on the spare tire holder?

does anybody know if the bumper and tire carrier in this video will work on a mj
