I'm so jealous of you being able to open your room windows for that rainy breeze! I would get inundated with moisquitos 😭 looks so relaxing. I've been listening to the new Twilight book audiobook on RUclips I dont wanna waste my hard earned cents 😂
I liked the video, but I much prefer if you'd read the quotes outloud instead of just showing the pages. I'm too dumb to understand how you annotate and never knew where to look and it isn't that much fun to pause the video that much. But thanks for reading the book for us anyways haha. I read the leaked chapters back in the day which to me feel like was half of Midnight Sun, so I won't be reading it.
Edward is weirdly paternalistic. It's the same with every romantic interest in Stephenie Meyer's books. You really get the sense that, in her mind, she thinks women need their partner to be a paternal figure in their lives, or to replace their father. This is textbook misoginy. I always cringe that 16-year-old me loved this. L'as-tu lu en français à l'époque? Câline que la traductrice aimait le mot prunelles!
Our experiences of this book were very similar. I had a lot of fun with how hilariously cringe it all was for the first ~50%, until the scene in the meadow, which is when the “why the hell am I doing this to myself??” kicked in. I skimmed the last 300 pages or so, no regrets, and gave it two stars. Loved the vlog, thanks for tormenting yourself for our entertainment. 😂😂😂
I loved this so much!! I wasn't sure if i wanted to read it but now i'm more interested in doing so cause i feel it's going to be a light read with some nostalgic feelings and i need that right now!
I didn't really have anyone to talk about it with back in the day. I read the books, then spent a year trying to make everyone around me read it as well 😆
I hated Twilight so there is no way I could put myself through the agony of reading this one. Also if it sounds familiar it got leaked online like 10 years ago which is why she never went ahead with printing it till now, must need money! 😒
I have this book on hold from the library. Happy that Kindle lets you put tags and notes onto quotes. It's gonna be fun. An author on RUclips, Hannah Lee Kidder, has been re-writing Twilight. And it's been really entertaining.
First 25% of the book I enjoyed it. Edward is such a drama queen and such an emo - I freaking loved it😂 I also liked how in this one Meyer gave Bella more character. But.... we've seen this story before 2 times already with original Twilight and gender bender version. So gradually I started to be super bored... I would have loved to read a story in Meyer's universe but with new characters.
I finished Midnight Sun last night and i've been saving this video to watch until after. I was disappointed that there wasn't more background on Edward! I also found him extremely annoying and I felt like I liked him even LESS after hearing his thoughts/point of view lol. But you know, nostalgia etc
I first read the series when I was in highschool (I was 14 at that time) and re-read it after the #midnightsun announcement! 😂🖤 #teamedward all the way! I did my review on this book as well! 🙈
At first I liked team Jacob but he got annoying and manipulative so I i was team Edward since he and Bella were end game. But honestly, Bella’s dad was my favourite character! Also I love the scene outside your window with the grey sky, swaying trees and sweeping rain! Perfect backdrop to snuggle down and read Midnight Sun 😊
I’m glad you posted this. I was a Twihard and I want to read this but I also don’t see much of a point since it’s not a whole lot of new story. It’s kinda just fluff? Ya know? I didn’t want to put 600 pages of time into a book that I don’t reaallly need to read.
I am listening to this as an audiobook. I am 1/3 in and it is so bad I just can´t. I don´t know if I will be able to finish this "masterpiece" :( I do not understant how you manage to read the whole thing. I would like to see more clips of you actually reading. How is Steve? :)
I don't plan to read the Twilight series. I don't actually read book series much in general now. The last series I tried was Dexter, and it was so awful that I distanced myself from book series in general, lol.

I am glad you did, so I wouldn't have to. I liked the Twilight series when it first came out but now it just feels weird and lost it's shine. Also, am I the only one who finds the cover uncomfortable to look at? Like it gives me the heebie-jeebies whenever I see it.
I loved it and have already read it 3 times 🤣 I thought most of the series was cringe back then and I still do 😅 But it's fun cringe for me so I love it.
It's actually wholesome to see you laughing over Edward's cringe-ness. He is cringey, rage inducing and problematic but at least we can laugh hahahaha!
I've been reading this book, and at the begging I was so excited, but I'm in the chapter 8, and I feel it a little bit tedious, because Edward is always complaining and saying that he doesn't deserve love and bla bla. However I Iike the way he says he would love Bella for the rest of his limitless existence.
Your comment about bella being really basic reminded me of a video youtuber kennie j.d. made recently about the eclipse movie. Basically her (sarcastic) conclusion was that Bella is an inspiration and she needs to write a book to teach us how to be so uninspiring but at the same time incredibly sought after. She's basic, she's not funny, has no talent but has 2 attractive men throwing their self esteem away in an effort to be with her.
I feel it is just me but I couldn't follow anything that has been said in this video... I just couldn't hear it good enough and I also haven't read this book yet so I also couldn't really understand a scene... I was interested in this video but not anymore because of the not being able to follow what has been said
I can't seem to find a way to get rid of the 4 previous horrible twilight books I own and also get some 💰 to feel better about my bad decision to buy them 10 years ago
I tolerated the bad writing of the first book but I threw it in the bin when it got to the sparkly vampire in the the sunlight bit. Then I sat through the first two movies with a view to giving them a chance by the end of the second film I was hoping both Bella and Edward would be killed by the vampires in that throne room. I couldn't bring myself to try the rest in the series.
Come on. I enjoyed the hell out of this. Whyever not. Yeah, Edward is insufferable but I can never hate him. I can never hate Twilight. My teenage heart was doing backflips in happiness when I read that book while the adult me was rolling her eyes so hard. 😂
@@BookswithEmilyFox You weren't. I was kinda doing the same thing really. Hate-loving the experience of being inside a 100 year old drama queen's head. 😂
Okay, you shall be my workout content today 😅 Just hoping you are not too funny in this one or else it's gonna be hard:))) Also thank you for videos as per usual 💖
I definitely had a good time reading MS because it’s just so funny (mostly unintentionally). Edward is such a dramatic fuck. This book definitely highlights that Bella is literally just like every other girl and Edward is infatuated more or less by chance. The new information is nice and I wish it hadn’t taken so long to get it. MS does flesh out the family a bit better, which twilight needed VERY badly. This book is pure junk food.
I couldn’t take it after the first chapter... and my older sister read the entire series and I learned even more than I ever wanted to know and decided not to bother. 😦🥱 not that SHE was a fangirl mind you, but she was drawn in enough to finish it??
Jill C TBH, back then, I didn’t understand age categories. I thought there were only children’s books and adult books. The only YA I read when I was a teen was Harry Potter. I was expecting Outlander level romance writing which is partly my fault and partly the fault of my English teachers.

Teenage (and let's be real, current me) is 100% here for angsty, emo Edward. My biggest complaint is the million references to Bella as 'the girl ' F that. Learn her name. I don't care if the author intended for it to be cute like she's the only girl to him, still hate it. It's not even a nickname he gives her, it's just inner monologue. Ugh
While I didn't mind the Twilight series, this book was totally awful, so much so I didn't finish it. It's so repetitive. I also think the author did the Edward Cullen character a great disservice, she basically ruined his character. Any like or admiration one might have had fir him is mortified via this book ! Only reason I keep the hard copy on my bookshelf is because the book jacket is beautiful, the interior is ugly however.
