      So true... What caught my attention was the fact that U named 2 of my fav artists,... namely *Raphael Saddiq & Prince* ... However, the True genius of this song was the late, great *Spanky Alford* who laid down these guitar licks!... *Spanky* can also be heard all over *Tony Toni Tone's* best album *House Of Music* ... *D'Angelo & Raphael* got the best outta *Spanky* shortly B4 his untimely demise! 🎸
      PS - *Dwayne Wiggins* Raphael's half-Brother *(T.T.T.)* also has some soulful guitar licks as well!

    • @Guitarwizza1
      @Guitarwizza1 5 месяцев назад

      @@santino591 Yeah I know about Spanky on House Of Blues album. But the guitar on "How Does It Feel" is Raphael on a Telecaster. He mentioned it many times in interviews. Plus Spanky approach is much more intricate along with playing his semi-hollow Gibsons.

    hey great tutorial Kerry! This my favorite song! Percussive feel and sense of space on point! I just wanna say coming from a jazz background that I think the 4th chord is a "backdoor dominant" C9 where you can use some very interesting voicings like C9#11, or any inversion of E half diminished. This is a chord that D'angelo also uses on Africa from the same album! Not trying to come in and act like I'm better than u or anything but this was something that helped spice up my playing on this song! And thanks for the ideas and hard work!
