Pls do share your thoughts on the vdo here..tell me about some funny silly or scary situation you had to face on stage..and how you dealt with that...love to hear your thoughts..thanks in advance
Your face makeup looks great and natural. Your smile is very attractive. Your voice is incredibly pleasant and loving, making the audience feel important.
Basically I hit these three notes in all my bits.. Firstly to get into my subject..then to get the subject into me..and finally to get it into the hearts of the audience. And one ingredient I use in measured abundance is crisp humor ! Its unmistakable even in stiff upperlip Boardooms n otherwise suffocating C suites ! This is a learnable skill like any other and it works for those who work at it ! Well enunciated from your end too DV.. and the "stop..shop..stop" is better put to "fan the audience" as I used to ! Adopted therefore ! Thanks n best as always !
Hey Dhan! All your tips are spot on. I am a teacher by profession , I teach English. I am a part of the theatrical group of my segment. My guidelines to my theatrical students are almost similar. I also mentor the students who compete in various Inter-School litfests... Especially competitions like turncoat, declamation etc. What I usually stress on, is voice modulation along with pronunciation and clarity of speech. I am a storyteller myself and i have experienced many a times that if you know to manipulate your voice and bring the required intonation, you will definitely strike a chord with the audience, no matter how the storyline is. Talking about voice modulation, a classic example and my all time favorite is Mark Anthony's speech at Caesar's funeral(from William Shakespeare's -Julius Caesar).. .. "Friends, Romans Counrtymen ,lend me your ears.." The entire speech is a super good exercise for voice modulation....and it also involves all the tips that you have mentioned like pause, choice of words, body language etc. All said and done, I enjoyed watching this video and trust me guys if you follow all these tips that Dhan has spoken about, you can strengthen your oratory skills. Give it a try! Until next time Tc Dhan!
Excellent Dhanya madam Your YT-Video on public speaking. 1. Towards last there was a mix up between public speaking and presentation, I may be wrong. 2. Public speaking is generally delivered to a larger heterogeneous audience. Whatever you said is correct body language, gestures and voice modulation matters much for PS. 3. But presentation usually content is important; it is delivered to a targeted audience somewhat knowledgeable in the field. 4. Towards slide preparation whatever you mentioned is absolutely correct. Don’t crowd the slides with presentation material, font, spacing, and slide background is very important. 5. Things on slides should work only as pointers. Figs, photos, movies etc…can supplement….

Hi dhanya.. could you do some videos about how to train kids for public speaking.. pls.. my 10 year old daughter is very nervous. She has a good language but the moment she has to face the public she is damn tensed.
Don't worry too much about it...she will pick up..why don't you encounrage her.for group activities on.stage first...then.lster she could settle into public speaking
@@sausekhar As a teacher, what I usually notice among students is that, firstly they fear being ridiculed by their classmates incase ofany goofups on stage. Secondly , if it's a competition they fear losing it. So, they sometimes don't speak up or are too nervous on stage. First, encourage her and motivate her to participate in events or competitions organised in the class / school. She can take baby steps, like reading thought for the day or the news headlines in her class assembly. Assure her that winning doesn't matter, what matters is participation. Tell her to accept both appreciation and criticism constructively. Take out that "what if" fear from her mind. Tell her it's okay and not all are born as "go getters". While on stage, initially she can fix her gaze on one person or look straight and talk. Later when she gets comfortable, she can go for "stop shop stop" method suggested by Dhan. I am sure none of us learnt cycling at the first go, we have had our share of falls, bumps, hits , scratches while learning to ride. And don't you remember that one person, could be your father, mother, grandfather, brother who used to hold the cycle while you were juggling with it? and come running behind and shout out those encouraging words " yes, you can do it.... Good job, great going! " Finally, it all boils down to the point that one can succeed in anything by perseverance and motivation from their loved ones. Don't worry, she will get through her stage fear gradually. Before I sign off, I see that your account name is " introvert forever " , I don't know if you have chosen it for fun or otherwise. With no offence, I suggest you too should practice along with your daughter and come out of that shyness or whatever is holding you back. Hope to see you as an extrovert soon!!!
Hey Saumia.... You have such a lovely name, it's nice to see that you have changed your account name from " introvert forever " to this beautiful name of yours within a few hours . Great!!! I am sure your daughter too will shine soon... Good luck to the little one!!
I have been watching watching your shows for long, the one which I really need to mention is happiness project. Its the only program I never want to miss. Being happy with the happiest people, my perception towards somany things have changed after watching the show. People without even having address or anything to be called.. As simple as that. Mc I to do it occationally... But we're I lost the game offen is time management. I can make it beautifull and attractive but time is tipically out of my hands. My audience feedback will be like it was fantastic, but you would have precised it.
Good presentation 👍 you are a good orator... 👏👏 This video would be very helpful for those who suffering from stage fear and trying to become a good public speaker... All the very best.. Keep going... 👍👍
