Most ppl thought (including myself) that Nate Dogg was doin the hook but it's really Craig David imitating Nate Dogg wich is insane and so dope ! Love this sample flip too, might be one of Preems craziest flips !
Yep that's crazy. I actually thought it was Nate Dogg
⚡🙏⚡
COOKIN' SOUUL!!
Good point CookinSoul
Cookin soul and preemo 2 of the greatest to do it. Preem lit the flame and soul carried the torch.
Craig David is a legend, if you know you know. 👍🏾
Did anyone recognize the Eddie Murphy album behind him 😂😂😂 "Party all the time" and "what's up with you" always make me smile
Mos Def way too nice on everything he touches. Salute!
When I first saw the floppy I thought “ You forgot to add Nate Dogg!”
Wow, I had no clue it was not him. To this day I am a huge Craig David fan. “Born To Do It” is a classic front to back. Remixes were big back then and I remember downloading anything and everything I could of Craig David’s from Kazaa.
This video is much appreciated as is the rest of the channel.
Kazaa was the bomb 😁
I had no idea that wasn't Nate Dogg. Craig sounds exactly like Nate, Ive been fooled for over 20yrs! Thanks Preemo, for letting us know.
He doesn't its just the oh no beat that triggers Nate's voice in your brain
@@jeffrejr1 the opting part of the song where Craig is singing in nates voice sounds very much like Nate, after that Craig sings in his own voice
craig david sounds nothing like Nate Dogg. And he never meant to sound like him smh. He just imitated Nate Dogg
@@panamecitypanamecity5855 obviously not his natural singing voice, to say he sounds nothing like him when imitating nate is false, and I think he did mean to sound like him hence the word imitating does a very good impression
@@sleepydank8330 i'd say that it's kind of tribute in my opinion. With Craig David special beautiful voice
I still listen to this track, i wish there was a higher quality version out there
I'm always flabbergasted of what a encyclopedia this man is.
I fucking love these videos, so much knowledge, so much history and culture, so much love for the artists and the different music genres. What a gold mine this series is!
Yep, Primo sounds like a walking library.
Born to do it was an absolute classic back in the day.
This version is so aweome, wish it was availible on streaming services
I am so thankful that Preemo is doing this, also how humble he salutes everybody. I just wanna apologize for asking for his towl in Stuttgart back in 2000something - I was stoned-hooked on the SP Towlee episode earlier in the evening. Still feel bad about my jerkness...
Respect to u homie, hey we have a moments! It happens
True man shitz happens! Most important, YOU WERE THEREEE 👊🏾👊🏾
Was war da nur mit KARSTEN looos? ;-)
@@luiscerqueira1470 100% homie respect 🙏 to u to!
“Don’t forget to bring a towel!” 🤣🤣🤣 I’m glad to know that went international.
So nostalgic. Craig David was super dope!
still makes bangers
Is.
Man, that little flute stab in the beginning, how good
Woowwwwwwww! This is one of my all time favorite primo tracks and I was today years old when I found out that Craig David had perfectly imitated Natt Dogg 😂
It’s still one of my favorite remixes ever. Listened to Born to Do It and this remix non-stop back in the day.
the amount of knowledge contained in these episodes is crazy. I wish this remix was available on streaming platforms
I'd like to see one of these on Mos Def Mathematics, Screwbal F.A.Y.B.A.N, and Non Phixion Rockstar
the ranjahz feat. cee-lo - inspiration
would be dope to hear about that one, that sample is too dope, fell in love with it since i first heard it on travellin man by dj honda and mos def
I remember first hearing the intro to this and thinking "Nate Dogg got a cold or something?" Like, I wanted to believe it was him so bad, but deep down I always knew. After a while I just accepted that it wasn't, but that didn't take anything away from how good this song was. My girl always loved the original and I just put her on to the remix like a year or two ago and she was blown away. I miss those days.
Banging remix. Flipping the oh no chorus is dope
I found this song since I’ve been in late middle school, rocked it all the way till now. And it’s always been on my mind how this song came to be. Thank you so much for this video! Many blessings
need this joint on Spotify

PREEMO!! This remix is one of the best remixes EVER. So tight to hear the story behind it. Speaking of dope remixes; I hope to see the breakdown of Buckshot Lefonque’s Music Evolution Remix on here! 🙌🏽
That’s dope I’ve always wished more artists did brake downs like this.. 🔥🔥
Shout out from Germany Primo this Song was and is Still considered a Timeless Classic Among RnB and Hip Hop Fans here in Germany. Mos Def aka Yaasin Bey is one of my Favourite Artist of all Time.

Another one of Preem’s top 3. Shout to my dawg Eddie!
This jawn is definitely a vibe. One to play with a woman on a date, a Sunday afternoon jawn, just something to kick back with that special someone.
Let's go! History right here.
Man, such a Classic. Had really mixed feelings about CG back when it dropped, but no one can deny this record. So freaking good. Also I miss that era Mos Def.

WOW....Salute, Craig! Thought that was Nate for years! Great history lesson as always, Preem!
Track still bangs to this day!
Hard!
The impersonated voice of Nate was done so well, I couldn't have told you otherwise either. What a great voice David has!
But I suppose if there were only one salute the floppy I could request, it would be your remix of Freaky Flow by Special Ed. For me this record was beyond a bed in the ICU.
Damn, I forgot about this one! Still fresh to date!
one of my all time favorites! i've been waiting on this one. salute, premo!
neverrrrrrrrrrrr knew homie wuz a DJ shoutout 2 london peace yall
That Nate impression. Nice. Yasiin too!
My absolute favorite producer of all time and the greatest in my book. 27 episodes deep and they keep getting better I’m also diggin that they are over 10 mins long. I’d love to hear an episode on The Format by AZ. Salute and thank you!
I think he stopped using floppy’s by then.
Definitely one of my fav Premier productions. I hope an upcoming episode includes Back in the Day by Christina Aguilera 🔥🔥🔥
Ain't No Other Man. That is one hit.

Huge one!!!!! This is great. Would love to hear one on the Snoop Dogg's "The One And Only" from Paid Tha Cost To Be Da Bo$$!
Was thinking the same thing.
It's coming...
It's really weird, I can hear Craig David in the Nate Dogg hook now it's been pointed out but in twenty years I never once clocked it.
Why Craig David look like a R&B Lloyd Banks 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 I cant undo it now!!!

Dope shit!!!
That blows my mind that Craig David imitated Nate Dogg!! I always thought until this day that it was Nate - wow!
One of the only times I've seen the mighty Preemo adopt the way of the major labels.
