- De 100ste grote onderhoudsbeurt voor een groot toestel, uitgevoerd door KLM Maintenance. Hier wordt een Boeing 747-200 van Avianca Columbia, registratie HK-2980X genaamd 'Cartagena de Indias' van top tot teen gecontroleerd en schoongemaakt. Een grote onderhoudsbeurt die eens om de 5 jaar plaats vindt. Dit is de 100ste door de KLM uitgevoerd. voor zowel eigen toestellen, als voor partners.

Articulo de Simple Flying, diciembre 5, 2020: A Boeing 747-200M joined Avianca in June 1979 and went through two registration changes to HK-2980X and EI-CEO. It lasted for a long time in the carrier’s fleet until it was transferred to Tower Air in February 1995. Kalitta Air was the last operator to take it on, doing so in May 2005. The plane now remains in storage.

Very good documentary. It would be interesting to know on what date was filmed, because Avianca does´t have 747's in its fleet from about 25 years ago. The aircraft shown here, the HK-2980X left Avianca´s fleet in the mid-80s and then was converted to freighter in 2000, serving until 2013 in Kalitta Air. That year she was stored.

I´m colombian and I dont know what language is this, so my question is why an Avianca airplane is being fixed or whatever by KLM tehnicians. I supposed this process might be been done in another country, Its correct? Whats this country? and what´s the relationship between the 2 companies?
Avianca has a contract with KLM to do the maintenance of there airplanes this happend in the Netherlands.
