I think spraying the trees with a dot of spray paint is a good idea, I have a walking stick that's 40+ years old made from an oak tree that had yellow dot that I use to this date. My Dad picked it up when he picked up the walnut peices he needed to complete his 'Spoing Project'. I use that walking stick for balance, sticking it holes along the way, getting this cobwebs and spiders out of my path for years. Could use lime green, red, bright yellow, pink spray paint to mark trees and if the wood is good there are alot of options! Bless you all at Shady Acres!
Kyle.....May I suggest you fill in the eaves and ceiling with the bug repelling blow foam. It will stop the hornets from putting up nests and help keep the heat from the sun from adding heat to the shelter. It's high enough up that the goats won't be able to get to it. Just an idea

Find a certified arborist I had two trees removed that were in a tight area. He brought them down and except for one branch on a cherry tree, there were no casualties. Turns out both trees were dying inside and would have ended up in my bedroom the next winter storm.
Has Spruce been secretly learning law??. Because I just found out that there is now a Judge Tim Spruce at my local courthouse here in Barnsley in the UK.

Y'all are southerners - I would melt in those temps.Oaks shed limbs (not branches) regularly. I had an arborist check my huge old oak and they said it is healthy. Bruno on the tractor- adorable. Great recall.
Kyle, Black Flag wasp spray killer. You go out at dusk ( when they are all home). It sprays in a stream and you can be a distance away. I always have a can on hand, just in case. I hate wasps, too, and my daughter keeps bees in her yard. Can't lie, I am a bit nervous about them too. But they are workers for the honey and pollination. City life!

For wasps get zero spray for bees it is in a stream and you stand back to spray it but wait till night time when they are in the nest then they don't come out when you spray them. I use it in the eaves off my front porch
