I’m glad to see this series return. I really like this instructive style of video. Seeing you play an opponent in a longer time control. Really lets the audience take in why a certain move is good, bad. The ins and outs of the position.
I’ve been watching and learning a ton from your channel. I’m always sceptical about subscribing to chess channels. I had to sub to your channel just because you offered to play blunder man. Awesome buddy. Thanks. And I’ll be watching 🍻
Yeah, I think this goes back to Nelson’s point, that often times forcing 1,800s to play outside their regular opening could lead to them making mistakes. Blunderman even kinda confirms this because he had a clear plan, but then was stressed about being out of his theory early on after Nelson played moves he wasn’t expecting.
@@vPegasus no his reasoning was not good regardless of being comfortable or not , and out of theory is not really an execuse , because most 1800 or 1900 don't even know what the word means , i don't want to sound rude but he didn't play well in that game
@bryanrisso7508 That too, but objectively speaking he made some obvious opening blunders and simple miscalculations especially in the opening. He was lost on move 8. A 1000 could've played the first 15 moves better than he did. After that he played at his level though
@44:00 I would love to see what would happen if he took took the bishop with his own bishop, leaving his rook to be captured but if you take it you lose the knight behind the bishop and trading down to rook-knight vs either knight-bishop or knight-knight. White would be down 2 pawns as well, but would have a more active king. Could still put up a good fight.
Good video. Couldn’t believe at 43:00 both players missed ... Ne4# It shows how even great players can miss stuff. Black had effectively won the game by then anyway, I suppose!
This is still my favorite series. I know it's got to be a lot of work to put together calibrations. But it's such an interesting watch. Also, Obligatory RUclips algorithm comment.
You should play nm sam asaka (i think) and his constant adhd talking information spewing would be a cool contrast to your chill and relaxed thought process in a video lol
Watching this I'm realizing I have solid middlegame. I'm actually trying to figure out how this guy is higher rated than me, but I think his opening theory is stronger. I basically dont have opening theory outside of the Queen's gambit and the Sicilian.
It's funny how Owen has the same openings as I do, caro and jobava. 😂 I guess we watched the same people to grab some openings while learning the fundamentals from Nelson ❤
You can play more strategy games like 'RISK' , 'MINESWEEPER' , 'SUDOKU' and 'BATTLESHIP'.Whoever liked this or wants that Nelson sir play these please like the comment.
Interesting insights between the 2 ratings ! Unfortunately couldn't find either a link to the post game discussion nor anything on BlunderManYT on You Tube ! Was it somewhere else ?
Oof, opening ends with one side having a developed knight and bishop, and a pawn in the center... other side just looks like they began the game down half of their pieces with nothing moved out.
Opponent definitely doesn’t ”belong” to the 1900 zone. I don’t see him even as a strong 1800. Basic tactics missed and wasn’t able to realize he had an advantage in game 2 to capitalice. He did even had plenty of time to think all of the options. Nelson loses to 2000s in his livestreams and this guy is almost a 1900.
watching this video now i know how good at chess this generation was with machine development like i calculated all the `1900 movei n 7 secs and yours like idk and still stuck at 1600 like what? and yes i know how to play positional chess
Where is Owen’s accent from? He sounds a little Jamaican when he says certain words. I guess maybe northern England too but with a hint of Finnish? My ears are confused.
I would suggest you edit the video so that main board does not move during the video and the two of you appear paused one by one in the inset. It is confusing to see the board flipping back and forth.
@Justajawnie You could have enlightened yourself with a simple google search that would've told you each 100 points of rating translates to an additional 64% chance of winning, so a difference if 400 points >90% chance of winning. Does that make me a chess guru, or you too simple to figure out how to do answer your own questions?
Really enjoyed playing you brother! Thanks so much for the games!! You're a legend!
Your reaction to Rxh7 was the best thing I heard all weekend.
My man has hit the big time! Gonna watch this on your channel today 💪🏻
GGs man!
How is Rxh7 not a brilliant move?
@@soorm7309 it was brilliant in my eyes 😂😂

46:26 "We can always hope he mouse slips." Love his optimism. :)
This is probably the best series in the channel. I wish you played more against players rated higher than you, like you did with Zohrab. Best regards.

These are the BEST chess videos by far! More please.
Love this format
Good game both of you. Well fought and interesting to hear both of your thoughts and strategy on the fly.
hell yeah another chess vibes video
Oof both of you missing mate in 1 at 43:41
Yes ne4#
Nice find
Incredible. I think when they talk and explain their moves they play worse...
Nelsi, at 43:00 isn't Knight e4 just mate?
Instead of the same knight to c4
Yeah you can see M1 in the eval bar when it flips to BlunderManYT's cam shortly after
exactly what i just typed
I've watched and enjoyed a lot of your videos. I subscribed after watching this one! Keep making these. Fun to watch.
There was mate in one Ne4# instead of Nc4+
But you have to look for better.
Didn't that 1882 rated player played like he is overrated
The first game he was playing like a 1200
Yeah absolutely
I wish my opp is like this

Dude is playing like a 700 in the first game, ngl.
Lopez is just too strong. Ive played games where i look like i started playing yesturday.

@@r33th yeah i agree. I didnt understand why he made the decisions he did. But oh well!
his opening was very bad.
Guy must have been nervous. I don't blame him, I probably would be too.
More of this Nelsi
This guy did not play the opening like an 1800, more like a 1200.
your average 1900 would not play the way this guy did
You are one of my favorite chess players:)

"“What was I thinking? Didn’t I have a plan?” I’ve said that many times.
35:40 As a 1300 if I know a thing, you should develop your pieces first.
Good video.

I can't believe your opponent forgot their plan in the first game. That's actually crazy.
Theory being equal'ish, superior tactics made the difference. What a match!
I love these!
Love the reaction game 1 to rook H7. “What is that move???!!!” Hahaha
Instead of moving Be8, you could have promoted with a discovered check.
at 43:15 isn't knight to e4 is a checkmate??
You should play nm sam asaka (i think) and his constant adhd talking information spewing would be a cool contrast to your chill and relaxed thought process in a video lol
The beginning is a prime example of why I love playing Chess 960. Just throw all the theories out the window and just play chess lol.

Can someone tell me why not castle at 15:15 min for white?
he had already moved the king around the 4 minute mark
@ thanks! i completely forgot that he did that
I understand seeing moves that take you out of your opening prep can be difficult to deal with, but that 1st game was a certified mess.
Next thing...
Nelson..come jamaica to play your stream 😅even me that's not good
No attempt at a classic Rosen swindle?? I guess Nelson would have been on the lookout for draw attempts tho
before - Chess VIbes played Cornered Chess, British chess youtuber.
now -Chess Vibes played BlunderManYT, another British Chess youtuber.
Miss Cornered Chess
On 40m Bishop g4 check and after Knight d3 with checkmate! GG love your games :)
Tayeuk Tayeuk Tayeuk

Same coloured chess boards would have been nice

How do you analyze your games nelson
Oof, opening ends with one side having a developed knight and bishop, and a pawn in the center... other side just looks like they began the game down half of their pieces with nothing moved out.
We have to play again lolol

He missed mate in one with knight in last game 43:30
Waiting for you to do a game like this with DantheMan! Wondering how his thought process is different from yours.
Hi Nelson I enjoyed your games but on the the second game instead of trading the knights Ne4 was checkmate in one
32:06 this was so funny lol
lol Nelson misses a mate in 1
This was a terrific side-by-side duel. Great idea, very instructive, and fun to watch!
At 1.34 he says I've never seen this move before then says ah the von henning gambit. Is it just me or is that odd?

He is out of Northern Ireland

He's Northern Irish on videos on his own channel. Not sure why he sounds Jamaican in this 🤔
In the first game he made some stupid moves but I can't blame him because I play Sicilian and not Caro
I know the answer: it‘s 400 Elo!
Missed mate in 1
nelson you missed mate in one in the second game 42:46
I would suggest you edit the video so that main board does not move during the video and the two of you appear paused one by one in the inset. It is confusing to see the board flipping back and forth.
Missed mate in 1 43:40
The flipping board is disconcerting and makes it hard to follow the game.
No it doesn't
Wonder if he does this with non-youtubers as well. I'm only 1668 so ig I need more work ig.

THERE'S NO WAY BOTH PLAYERS MISSED IT

Yo chess vibes. I’m 2100 rapid and a kinda rising RUclipsr so I can be ur opponent in 2300 vs 2100
my 1700 opponents are not like that
"Oh no! I got the black pieces." Already a difference between a master and non-master before the game even begins 😄
thats a joke mate
1900 i don't think that.
playing with someone
2100 at least the game fire
It was funny video XD
