Indeed Allah SWT do not need anything from his creations. It is we who are in need of him. It is clearly said in the Qur'an, if we do prayers, and follow the guidance, it is for our own benefits.
Al-Qur'an chapter 4 verse 48: "Lo! Allah forgiveth not that a partner should be ascribed unto Him. He forgiveth (all) save that to whom He will. Whoso ascribeth partners to Allah, he hath indeed invented a tremendous sin." Al_Qur'an chapter 21 verse 98-100: "Verily ye, (unbelievers), and the (false) gods that ye worship besides Allah, are (but) fuel for Hell! to it will ye (surely) come! If these had been gods they would not have come thither, but all will abide therein. There, sobbing will be their lot, nor will they there hear (aught else)."
