Really strange how he polishes it, then scratches the hell out of it with a dremel, then sharpens it, then puts a handle on it... gonna let you in on a little knife maker's secret: polishing is the last step.
@Hephaestus Restorations I think most everyone gets it. It’s all just trash bin stuff… to see how many clicks they can get and how many people are fooled into oohs and ahhs. It’s just not that hard to pick these out. I’ve never done a “restoration” like these claim to be… but I’m not too stupid to know when it’s faked. I watched one “restoration” where the guy only used the two metal plates and the locking mechanism, made the blade, wood handles and all the other parts and still called it a “restoration”.
I love what you have done with this , as i watched i realized from the handle that it was from a horse shoe this supprized me i did not think there was enough metal to make this !
Nice work... ignore the negative comments or key board warriors on here... if they think they can do a better job why don't they start up a RUclips channel and show us how it's done and listen to the comments they are given! Constructive comments are better than negativety... that's how we all improve our skills x
If you are going to take a grinder with a sanding disk to it, why bother with the electrolysis rust removal just use a wire brush on the bench grinder to get the rust off
Can't speak for this video but when I've chemically removed rust it didn't come back. When I grinder it off it often came back in a day or so. I also like the color change I got from chemically removing it.
I feel bad for that chisel it looks like a quality tool. Somebody get him a cheap putty knife even a cheapy screwdriver. the chisel is probably of higher quality than the machete. He is restoring the wrong tool.
The sad thing is that when you have 4.5 k views in 1 day and not yet reached 1k subs, Same thing with me bro, people don't usually subscribe. By the way I love your work.💕 There is more to come..
Your cousin is going to be quite happy with his new knife.
It’s like it was buried for 3-4 months and then when just enough rust and an abundance of mud formed, you plucked it from the earth to restore.
My thought also.
Not to mention the first 5 minutes of the video was pointless because they just ended up resurfacing it with an angle grinder anyway
It's strange how your cousin keeps his machete in the dirt.
to do content maybe

What you don't Mud Sheath your knives?
That was just the packing material he had on hand at the moment to not damage the blade in shipping it.

Turned out like new one. Like the handle. Thanks

👍👍👍👍👍👍
In terms of the dirt and rust, had old machetes on the farm just as bad or even worse, so a good job on the restoration
it's pretty & it's sharp, AMAZING!
Salam kenal bang

Curved Blade of Winds!
Eres un genio de la restauración amigo
Ang galing
Thats a fantástic job and beautifull knife..congratulation. well done job and The knife is very sharp too..note 10
Looks like the old cow manure trick, used in the '70's to " age" metal .
Awesome restoration nice
Thanks 👍
bagus....sangat tajam
Excellent result, considering the limitations of your power tools.
Good craftsmanship
Thank you very much!
The amount of different angle grinder discs is truly amazing. I also love the idea of perfectly polished grindmarks and scrathes.
Thank you very much!
Beautifully restored very shining good job well done
Thank you so much 😀
good restoration on that machete.
This video makes me think that everything has its own way in this life. Great restoration, awesome end result!!! Good luck!!!
Really great restoration
Thats for big fish . Good job .

Fantastic work! I love it!
Excellent job!
Glad you like it!

Beautiful restoration, it was a beautiful piece. congratulations on the job.
Thank you so much 😀
How long took it to Cover it whit dirt ?
Great work 🙏
Have a great day 😊
Thank you! You too!
Excellent and thoughtful restoration! The wood you selected for the scales and the style of the handle is perfect for this machete. Well done!
Thank you very much!
Nice job!!!
Thanks!
Fine work on a cool tool.
Now that is a very useful tool!
GREAT WORK AND GREAT PIECE!!!
Thank you very much!
Beautiful work
Thank you very much!
I love this RUclips channel long. Keep up the good work.💯☺
Thank you! Will do!
right
My issue is with using a wood chisel to scrape off the dirt/rust. Disrespecting an edged tool is never a good idea.
How else are you going to get a few weeks worth of fake rust off of your cousin's parang??
slicing up a coconut, now that's what I like to see
Amazing..
Expose a bit of raw cleaned metal for better contact during electrolysis. The result will improve greatly
Beautiful murder weapon very nice restoration
What's the point of having a grinder?
Good job!!
No fair ending it like that, I wanted to see you get into the coconut LOL nice job
Beautiful
Can you share the dimensions of this parang? It’s very pretty parang.. is it some branded parang ?? Can it be purchased somewhere?
Bro are you actually moving that fast that’s amazing
Very nice keeep going on bro....All the best from india🥰🥰
Thank you so much 😀
Wow, that is one of the most gorgeous lines I have seen on a Parang ever! Could you perhaps post an outline of it?

Thank you very much ☺️
Nice👍🏻
Thanks for the visit
great work.. but I would have expected you to use a higher quality wood for the handle.. to give justice to the restored blade..
With all that rust strange there's no pitting. At least very minimal anyway
Amazing
Thanks
Exelente
If you are going to take a grinder with a sanding disk to it, why bother with the electrolysis rust removal just use a wire brush on the bench grinder to get the rust off
great advice
Because the video then takes longer and they get more ad revenue from you watching to tell them how to do it better 😂😂
Yup. Will wasting 24 hours times
Learn chemistry first dude before commenting like that..or u just look very stupid for people that know the process..
Can't speak for this video but when I've chemically removed rust it didn't come back. When I grinder it off it often came back in a day or so. I also like the color change I got from chemically removing it.
Your cousin would probably value a decent cutting edge rather than a mirror polish.
More of a cleaver than a machete, but still very nice 👍🏻
Where the hell did your cousin keep it? Backyard, buried?
In the Next video pls make a katana
No need to derusted for 24 hour when you are about to using a grinder. Grinder can easily removed surface rust.
Thats lvly job👍👍my friend a person at one with his rasp or file carnt beat👍👍the tool and feel of your hands godbless bro🥳🛸.
Ever considered what an amount of polluted water this electrolytic or chemical rust removing "restorers" produce?
Why didn't you harden the blade. It won't keep an edge
I love that can i purchase it
Im sending you an electric saw for christmas…
That's weird your cousin didn't knock dirt off before sending. Jus sayin.

if I was your cousin I will definitely clean that before sending it to you
They might make the damage worse by cleaning it. He knows how to do it right.
Odd that the vast majority of the before pictures look so similar.
Kalau dulu orang buat begini tidak pakai listrik. Dan alat cuma api pahat, palu. Ditambah medianya besi.
Đao đẹp
Chahie bhai ye hathiyar mujhe chahie
why even bother with electrolysis if you removed all the material with grinder anyway?
Glass beading would have been faster
When u r bro machette restore1😍🤗
I would have stopped at the soap stage put an edge on it and scales made from weathered wood.. taking off all the patina took away all its life
I feel bad for that chisel it looks like a quality tool. Somebody get him a cheap putty knife even a cheapy screwdriver. the chisel is probably of higher quality than the machete. He is restoring the wrong tool.
👏👏
Jus say u got the knife as dirty ND rusty as u could then restored it for youtube...still gonna like the page jus as much if u told the truth
Not sure what that was all about with the salt bath when the blade was anyway later cleaned up with an angle grinder.

Yeah true
👍👍👍👍👍
Nothing is more perturbing than the use of comic sans fonts on this video, the blade was obviously buried
Idk if I’d give that back to your cousin..
That was soil not rust! Some authenticity wouldn’t go astray
Sand blast it
