Very pretty blade! Your artistic skills are amazing. But I didn't see where you tempered the blade after the initial quenching. Did I just miss it, or is there a reason for skipping that step?
Thanks. This is Edge Quench. The spine remain soft. On the quench process, i do instict measure for the The edge just reach enuf hardness but not too britle and not too soft. hehe. Hard to explain. it need to do many times to learn the process.

i normally use a 40 grit flapper disk but the carbide seems to work well also

You're absolutely correct! Definitely not a machete. A machete is a long heavy knife used for underbrush or as a weapon. While this is clearly a long heavy knife that could be used to cut underbrush or as a weapon, it's way too decorative to be a machete. Good call!
