I totally agree about the small oem charging handle. The phase 5 made a big difference. Unfortunately there is no such thing as a "standard Ar 10." I swapped the heavy factory trigger with Triggertech 308 version and am very happy with it. Started off with a 2.5x10 scope for a hunting setup this past season. Currently gonna try 4x12 glass for this coming season. Thank you for the good review.
I switched the stock trigger for a Giessele immediately and I am waiting for the SIG ambi charging handle to come back in stock. My gun likes the 168gr Federal SMK but will shoot acceptable groups with most of the ammo I have shot so far.
Just bought myself the same Piece for my middle of the Road Bday haha. Mine jammed as well but with the original charging handle..I noticed it is a little beefier and has small ridges on the pull head I can't afford a better one yet but thanks for the Info on a better Charging handle. your right man why don't Sig send out a little better product some ppl can't afford to buy after market and when I spend this kind of money I want it Ready to Rock And Roll and only have to worry about affordable freedom seeds..

I don’t know how you have a headache with a di 308win. Your headache is probably trying to zero your scope. For me mine works 100% all day long, after I shoot 100 rounds or so I clean the barrel and bolt, grease and oil it up and go again when ever I need to.
Have you tried any 175 grain yet? Mine loves federal 175 and the sig elite 175 grain. Funny about the charging handle.. 🤣 did the exact same thing myself. I went with hiperfire trigger myself.. kind-of a hiper fan boy.
lol mine the handle wouldn’t release the round. It bent my charging handle in half 😯 gunsmith had to take the barrel off to get it out. I’m still not entirely sure how he did it lol
My best group with my 716i is with Federal gold medal match 168gr, just under 1moa at 100yds. It also likes 175gr. Those geissele triggers are nice but a bit too expensive. I got a 2 stage Dirty bird trigger for $100, not as smooth as a geissele but it works for me.
I have this riffle just got it sighted in last weekend. I'm going to change the trigger out. Do you know if it has the big trigger pins? And you just saved me from ordering a radian charging handle I had one in my cart!
@@TheBeardedWretch saved me $70 and thanks for the info! It definitely needs a different charging handle, trigger and I was thinking about changing the stock to a prs light stock. other than that I really like it. I did figure out it liked heavier grain bullets more. I'm shooting mine with a dead air sandman ti can on it and had to switch out to an H3 buffer to get the Ejection pattern at 3.
The adjustable gas block is causing so many problems on those rugers. This sig rifle is officially a military rifle. Also, the sig has a pinned gas block and better lock up for the rail.
Mine sucks. Very inaccurate with all types of ammo. The bolt sticks so bad in BCG that it is very difficult to charge. And then the roll pin in charging handle came out and jammed into receiver causing malfunction.
It is a cursed gun. You pay that kinda money for a rifle and it causes problems it definitely makes you mad. Good luck I hope you get it working or sell it! Haha
If I had to pick between the 2 I’d do the Ruger SFAR. It’s lighter, parts are easier to find since the SFAR uses a lot of ar15 parts, and can fit more roles than the SIG in my opinion. Both are good guns all in all.
Thanks lol I set unrealistic expectations for some guns and if I can drop a round through the same hole or at least touching the same hole It bothers me because I know I can with other guns I own. But I appreciate it either way!
dollar for dollar, I think this is the best AR out there ... Incredible bang for the buck
Just bought a used 716i at a LGS for a great price. Will be taking it out tomorrow. Bought some 168 AMAX, 168 Federal SMK & M80 can’t wait!

Iv looked at switching to a 2.5x10 as well but not sure. Thanks for the info!
I know the 716i has a lot of proprietary parts. No issues with the Triggertech install? I just ordered the diamond series for AR10.
@@stevensimpson1043 no issue at all. About to begin the 2nd year as my primary deer rifle.

There sort of is an AR10 spec and the bigger companies follow it like KAC, LMT and HK. You can swap KAC and LMT lowers and charging handles.
I put the Triggertech Diamond trigger and the Magpul UBR Gen2 stock. Sig Sauer muzzle brake and the Sig Sauer Tango 1-10x lpvo.
Sub earned. I’m researching for an AR10. Great insight on the 716i. Sounds like this is a great option price for performance.

Great video. How do you like that scope? Thinking about getting the same one but I hear it's difficult to see past 100 yards. Thanks
It’s not bad. Took it off and put a Primary Arms 4-16 on it. The 1-8 is a good scope but I’m not a big fan of the LPVOs.
Nice video, I'm looking in to ordering one from my local gun shop. Keep up the good work.
Thanks! I hope you have good luck with it!
I made the Sam mistake on my ar10 didn’t know they weren’t all compatible. Ended up having to take it to a gun smith to get the charging handle out

Says on phase 5s webinar that it’s charging handle is NOT compatible with sig 716 ??? How did you get it to fit ?
They make 2 different styles. 1 for 716i and 1 for the other AR10s

Haha thanks. I’m far from cool but I appreciate it.

This or the New Ruger SFAR ??????????
That’s tough. For me it depends on what you’re wanting to do with it. DMR build SIG. Run and gun mid to short range Ruger.
