This may have been the best game that not many saw. It was played in the same late late afternoon timeslot as the Patriots/Colts blockbuster battle of unbeatens It also got overshadowed by Adrian Peterson’s 296 yard record breaker (a game that Throwback uploaded last month)
I remember that Sunday. I was a student at Kent State University and because of the blackout rules the Cleveland CBS affiliate didn't show Colts/Patriots
I'm becoming conscious now I just don't know how to communicate with loved ones because others ruined it and trying to fix the damage even though only time can heal it sadly
Hasselbeck was a really underrated passer for about a 6 year stretch. Worked very well in Mike Holmgren's offense, which was basically Bill Walsh's offense. I think after 2007 age/injuries just caught up with him. Would have been cool if he had retired a lot earlier, instead of just hanging around as a backup for years. Anyway, great career. Not bad for a 6th round draft pick.
I definitely remember this game. It was before smart phones were the standard. We had to leave while the game was still going to see Bruce Springsteen at the arena where the Cavs play. We could hear cheering from Browns stadium while we waited outside. We were DYING to know what happened with the game. When Springsteen took the stage he yelled, "What's up Cleveland, FOOTBALL TOWN!" One of the few fun seasons as a lifelong Browns fan.
It struck a great balance of having certain safety rules in place so guys wouldn’t be getting carted off in gurneys like the 70s, but was still tough and hard knocks! And you’d even see a QB line up under center and actually do a 5 step drop back to pass.
I remember this Seahawks squad very well. Some players from their Super Bowl team two years prior were still intact and I believed they had another run in them. However they were inconsistent and frustrating to watch at times.
This was the Browns’ best chance to make the playoffs, but they lost a crucial game against the Bengals in week 16 that derailed their chances of getting in
Thats what a lot of people remember but there was an earlier game that season that would've made just as much of a difference: Week 3 in Oakland, Browns had a chance to kick a game winning field goal. Dawson made the kick but Lane Kiffin called time out on the attempt before the ball was snapped, so they had to re do it. The very next attempt, the kick was blocked. Raiders win. Change the outcome of that game, Browns are 11-5 and in as the division champions.
I remember that game vs Bengals I think it was right before Christmas if I remember correctly, I was so pissed ruined my Christmas not really, but I did say that after the game.
Lawrence Vickers was one of the last great fullbacks. He was amazing to watch, whether it was as a lead blocker or a back out of yhr field he was great.
I was in high school, I watched this game at my friends house with his family. They had ordered a ton of pizza and breadsticks. I love this memory so much, and didn't think about it until watching this right now.
When i look at tbe browns. I think of my lions as they are identical in the superbowl era. If the lions & browns were in the superbowl would anybody bet! Would anybody watch other than the 2 states.
he was banged up in parts of 06 and 07, plus losing two perennial all-pro linemen really hurt. we were forced to become a much more pass heavy team as a result and even tho we finished 10-6 and won a playoff game I had a weird feeling the whole year that it was the end of our window basically

I seent it
I lived, and still do, live in Minneapolis, so I actually got to watch all 3 of those games that day.
This is a real throwback I miss 2007 one of the best years of my life
fr I turned 5 that year and thats when I started to really become conscious in life

'07 Browns team just needed one more win! That was a fun team to watch!

I was at both we ran from browns stadium to the arena for Bruce! Cleveland Rocks!!
@@christophercampbell1677 That's awesome. What a cool memory.
beautiful era of football
Makes me wanna cry

@@jefffinkbonner9551 very true. Perfect mix of old and new NFL
@@Ambivalence18Absolutely
I was at this game. It was cold. But the energy was electric.
Never thought I'would've seen the words Browns and High Offense Powered Offense in the same sentence!
Remember Derek Anderson should have been in the playoffs With a 10-6 record with the Browns also made the Pro Bowl
God I miss this era of the NFL & also my life.

That offensive line got dismantled and injuries plagued the vets.
The lasting memory I have of that season is Ryan Grant running all over the Seahawks defense in the snow.
This was the Browns’ best chance to make the playoffs, but they lost a crucial game against the Bengals in week 16 that derailed their chances of getting in
Let’s be real: they were NO MATCH for all 6 AFC teams that made it that year

Blown call against Arizona, or they would have been 11-5 and in.
Yea that team would have been a problem if they made the playoffs, couldn't beat the nasty natti in the windstorm lol

I forgot how silky smooth the first drive of a holmgren offense looked. Hasselbeck could sling it when his oline gave him time
They need to bring back these formations. I'm sick of shotgun every play these days.
They wouldnt work
1:40 “Porkchop Womack” will always be one of the best football names ever.

Cleveland Browns Against Seattle Seahawks Last Meeting In 1993 Thanks For Uploading
Regarding the Browns' missed extra point at 4:35 - you should throw in the occasional good extra point every so often to throw folks off.
I was in high school, I watched this game at my friends house with his family. They had ordered a ton of pizza and breadsticks. I love this memory so much, and didn't think about it until watching this right now.
i watched this as a kid. i remember that 4th down play vividly. browns were fun that year.
Derek Anderson: One Hit Wonder
The punt return by Burleson and the LeBron powder throw TD celly, that was sick!
The rookie year of Joe Thomas
Yep and browns fans wanted Brady Quinn more lmao I see you in every classic game video
@@packersauburneric3625He Never Disappoints The Browns
I miss these days, a lot.
Still waiting for this channel to upload a video with no grammatical errors in the title.
Back before the Seahawks had fans.
Seahawks have had a die hard fan base since 76. The media never gave us hawk fans attention until our superbowl season
I kinda miss these uniforms. 2002-2011 era.
Lmao the announcer sam rosen needed some water because his voice was super dry and almost gone 🤣
Kinda crazy a couple of these Cleveland WRs eventually made their way to the Seahawks: Joe Jurivicious and Braylen Edwards
I was there. Stadium was LIT
Great Game
Man you guys should've shown the 6-3 game back in 2012 of these two 😂
2011* they matchup every 4 years before the new inter conference rule was added in 2021
That was the most dull boring ass football game I ever saw
Seeing how terrible this Browns Defense was really makes you appreciate what we have as a Defense now
New York Rangers legend Sam Rosen with the play-by-play call 🙌
This was the same season where the browns played the bills in a bizzard in Buffalo in like week 15
When i look at tbe browns. I think of my lions as they are identical in the superbowl era. If the lions & browns were in the superbowl would anybody bet! Would anybody watch other than the 2 states.
No
Jamal Lewis and Braylon Edwards..been a minute since I heard their names
Good old days. Seahawks didn't have the 12th bandwagon I mean 🤷 12th man.
Was Shaun Alexander injured? Expected to see him much more.
I can't remember why he didn't play in this game, but after his 2005 season he basically dropped off a cliff.
he was banged up in parts of 06 and 07, plus losing two perennial all-pro linemen really hurt. we were forced to become a much more pass heavy team as a result and even tho we finished 10-6 and won a playoff game I had a weird feeling the whole year that it was the end of our window basically
In 2019 it was the opposite. It was the browns that went up 21-6 early and blew it. Freddie….
Back when Braylon Edwards actually had hands...
He never had the best hands, even at Michigan
Im hasselback
07 Browns was actually a powerful team. This would be the team that beat the defending Super Bowl champion Giants on primetime
