Now if you are going to read this fully, I implore you to keep reading. However, if you are going to stop halfway through or skim through it and not get the entire picture of this statement then just keep on scrolling. I am not picking sides in this argument. I do not have a party nor do I believe that a political party system is how we should do politics. I do not dislike nor do I want to offend people who like or believe political parties are good, I just believe that the negative consequences of this system weigh more than their ; one being that it divides the people into having an "Us VS Them" mentality that has flooded the internet and mainstream media over the past few years. My comment may not reach many of you, but the ones it happens to reach will at least make the time writing this worth it.
Now onto Cohen. I can not say if I believe him or not. HOWEVER, if you are just immediately disregarding everything that he is saying and say it is a lie, or if you say that you immediately believe everything he says and say it is the absolute truth....you have no idea what you are talking about and here's why. With the amount of criminal cases over the years, there obviously have been some cases where the criminal goes rouge and attempts to turn a new leaf. Some have proven successful, and some not as much. However, if we just discredit Cohen because of his background, then all of those people that really did try to make amends that were proven true and helped us solve the investigation will be null because their backgrounds say that they can't be trusted. Hell, one of the congressman during the testimony even said this. This does not mean that we should believe everything that he is saying just that we need to not make assumptions that could influence us and give us biases.
Now, for the reason as to why Cohen apparently just decided to tell the truth out of "nowhere". There is a place of origin and it come back to his father, a Holocaust survivor known as Maurice Cohen. A little while ago, his father came out and publicly said that he was disgusted with his sons actions because he "didn't survive the holocaust to have his name sullied by Mr. Trump." Now you can say whatever you want about that, but this is an 83 year old holocaust survivor and I refuse to believe that someone who has been what he has been through would ever lie about something that could have a very devastating effect. As for everything Micheal Cohen is saying, there is still a lot to work through and no one knows if it the truth or not.
All I am saying is we need to stop just immediately identifying everything that doesn't agree with you as bad. Different perspectives on situations can provide more insight as to what was going on whether they be the truth, a lie, or something in between. Accepting that people are different is something that preschoolers are taught, but all I see anymore is the division of differing ideals even though that's not entirely true either. It may come as a shock to some of you reading this but not everyone who sides with your party believes everything that you do, whether it's about Trump, Cohen, or Hillary.
