Hey chud327 I like the dually dually when you have duals on the back and singles in the front! Also, I'm going to start my own mudmower project soon so I watch every mower video you have! Love your vids and please keep it up! Thanks!
@@chud327 I took pulleys off the more deck themselves, and they have a groove similar to the rear end pulley. I don’t know if they will fit yet. I haven’t tried. That would be awesome if they did.
This channel is so great! I can’t stop watching. Do you have any engine rebuild or swap videos. Maybe I haven’t watched enough vids of this channel if their is any. But still love the custom mowers.
So glad you like it!! I have some car and a couple mower engine swap videos. I don't have many rebuild videos, I have rebuilt and engine in a long time. Maybe I can do some in the future and thanks so much for watching.
I think it is a good idea, but the way, I have done it to my John Deere just recently. Check it out and let me know what you think. Thanks for watching.
Pretty cool, one thing I thought about watching this video was, you could weld the adapter rim to the outside rim and cut square notches into the adapter rim. Then you can weld square like notches into the running rim so when you tighten them down with bolts to secure it then the forward and reverse torque will actually be pushed through the welded square notches running around the whole radius of the rims. Then the torque will push on running and adapter rim instead of just the 2 bolts holding the rim with friction as it is.
Both very smart ideas. The first may be known from application of doubles on tractors, the second to my knowledge it totally original. A lot is probably to learn from the way doubles and triples are mounted on tractors? Both good ideas though👍 The use of 'spacers or adapter rims anyway is a major plus compared to tires that are mounted to one another without space. This allows the side of the tyre to move outward and gain contact with the ground. One disadvanteg of welding the adapter rim to the outside rim is that you can't use the outside rim for other purpose anymore, so this is even more flexible. Well done.
Do you find that they help keep from tearing up the lawn and hills... I realize you're not using this tractor for that type of application, but the idea is great.
When I had dual turf tires at first, I could go through the muddy yard and leave no ruts... As for hills, I am in Florida, we don't know what hills are here. Thanks so much for the reply.
That is exactly the same as the pipe spacer mentioned in prior comments on your other videos just done with trailer rims instead... also you will want to have your dually tire pressures staggered to save your transaxle usually outer tires should be at 1/2 to 2/3 the pressure run in the inner tires. Also it looks like you need to air down some more or add more weight you're not getting full tire contact with the ground (full contact will double the traction and climbing capabilities like when you were backed into that small berm) increasing the tread lug contact and Traction
"It would look just like this but wider". My mom used to call that "Looks just like it only different". I think without a doubt, the JD should also become a dually!! You've got everything you need to do it so how could you not?? lol Ok, back to watching the video (I've only see 2 mins of it so far).
Thank you so much for watching! I am still debating with myself on a JD dually, I will let you know soon. If I do it, it will look just the same it only different.
I must say, I like your thinking. (Scary aint it) I am wondering about doing the same thing to my zero torn mower. I have some slopes that the added traction would be great on and like all zero turns she slides on even gentle slopes. I got to do some thinking and looking on this. My biggest problem would be having 5 foot of trailer and 7 foot of mower after the modifications. Dang it!
Neither machine could handle either mod he would need to convert to a peerless 700 with chain driven bar type axle or add a second transaxle to handle the torque required to turn the tires his current transaxle can't handle any more tires
That seems to be what most of the experts recommended and happen to be what you gut said, so yeah, number 1 it is. Thanks for your expert advice and thanks for watching.
Thanks. They are 20X10X8's and I found mine on Craigslist or facebook. You can get them at tractor supply, but they are about $100 each. Mine were $33 each. thanks for watching. and good luck.
good idea looks like it worked out great. I put duals on my Massey but cut the center out of one wheel and used angle to bridge to the one on the axle then welded it up. I like your idea it keeps the wheel separate but I think my massey would break the all thread. I'll try to post a video so you can see how I did mine.
what i want to see more than any of thoes modes you mentend is a gas pedal that goes straight to the carb throttle. then behind that a LONG exuast because if you can do a full rev it might as well sound full. both are quick and easy jobs compared to something like locking rear end.
RockeyDAproductions yeah same NY feels like it’s negative a million degrees the cold rain don’t help you have any pics of your mudder? Or you can’t send them on RUclips?
