I was already back in uniform when Brian entered the military in 2009. I went back in at 41yr of age as a reconnaissance team sergeant, nothing does a 40 yr old’s mental health better than being 20 yrs older than some kids and our running them, out road marching them, and out performing the younger generation. I was an ex-1/75th guy back in 1984-85, then to go back in 2007 was awesome. Unfortunately there are somethings that our bodies just can not recover from like a 20yr old kid can. RLTW Everyday.
So what would you recommend a 39 year old civilian. I look about 20 and feel 19 LOL. I was thinking about doing ROTC to get the Ranger tryout program there send me to the school and maybe contract. War is coming.
@@nikitachirich7985 Well if you looking for that, first I would recommend a lot of running. Make sure that you can run at least 5 miles in under 30 minutes, farther distance is better than shorter distances. ROTC is a good option but if you really want to ensure that you get to Ranger School, then enlist with a Ranger option contract. After (if you choose Infantry) basic & AIT, airborne, then you go to RIP everything is at Ft. Benning, then you go to your battalion. Once there you need to prove yourself to your team leader, usually a tabbed E-4, that you are able to do your job and handle the PT. Once you succeed at proving your self worthy, your squad leader will put you in for Pre-Ranger course, this used to be performed at the battalion level training facility back in the day. After passing Pre-Ranger, then you will get your slot for Ranger School and be on your way. Good luck.

Now I am just finishing my paperwork for the canadian military and should be in infantry by the winter. 2 years before I can apply for special forces, but it's my goal.
Age doesn't matter is bullshit! We all have an expiration date. As we age shit breaks and recovery takes longer. I'm not saying just sit on the rocking chair and waste away but a 41 plus guy has to be smarter during physical activity.
I think the "Doesn't matter" he means is that it can be done successfully. People of all ages get hurt and certain injuries are recoverable no matter the age. However, I totally understand but No Slack means No Slack and that never expires
Age does matter on the physical end. I'm almost 60, and my grandfather actually served in WW1 & WW2. He was in his freaking 50's during WW2 and had 8 kids already. He was an electrician but he was also patriot. He thought it was his duty to go back in the Army after being out for 25+ years. He had seen hand to hand combat in WW1 so he figured he could go kill more Germans. He was sent back to European theater and he wound up taking shrapnel during one of the battles, but fought on until had to be carried away by his fellow troops before he bled to death. He wound up getting sent home because he had a nerve severed in his forearm and couldn't carry and shoot his rifle. He even tried to argue that he would continue fighting with a pistol and grenades but they said "That's all for you pop's!". He used to say that he volunteered to get away from all the kids and do something less stressful like full on combat with people shooting machine guns at him. He made it home though and went on to live to be 96 years old before he passed. He was a wirey little fella, probably 5'4" tall and 130lbs, and he carried himself like a giant. My family has a really strong history of service for our country and I was able to serve mostly during peace time 1986-1992, I did AH-64 Armament. They just don't make people like my grandfather anymore though. Like I said I'm nearly 60, and although in great condition, I can't imagine doing what I did when I was in the Army now. Don't get me wrong, I'd take up a Post if my country needed me, but I doubt I would volunteer to go back in the Infantry and look for mixing it up on the battlefield just for kicks.
Age limit is such a stupid thing, i know guys who're monsters in their late 40s, especially mentally, they'd b a great asset to our forces. There's absolutely no sense in upper age limit, not to mention our new era of woke kids, we're facing serious crisis if we don't do something fast
🎬Final take: It doesn't matter what people's perspectives are and it's never too late just follow tour passion. Don't let people hold you back because their calling is not yours. You'll wonder how it could have been if you tried. Watch out who your 5 closest friends are for you will be like them 👉I'm 34 and I'm signing up for option 40. Also I was watching Star Wars today and an episode 1 and 2 they show how Jedi's live to serve and they don't get married. I am not married and the Bible says if you're married you should love your wife as God loved the church. You really can't love her or support her if you join this kind of career that's why I am not getting married. When you marry you have to support worldly desires and your wife has to do the same you can't focus all on God, or your career.

I am looking to join special forces myself.
I am turning 40 next month. Finished my mandatory military service in Greece as a green beret machine gunner.
My test numbers were (2m middle of pack, dident get a time, just a pass)
108 pushups
20 pull-ups
75 situps.
I Finnished and was discharged.
This. And all the regimented PT albeit is building up certain aspects of the body, is simultaneously breaking other aspects down.
Is JASON BELFORT related to JORDAN Belfort. The wolf of wall street Jordan Belfort??? Haha lol 😅😂
inspired.
Age limit is such a stupid thing, i know guys who're monsters in their late 40s, especially mentally, they'd b a great asset to our forces. There's absolutely no sense in upper age limit, not to mention our new era of woke kids, we're facing serious crisis if we don't do something fast
Y’all gonna let the guest talk?
It’s their “format” but I’d rather listen more from Brian than the other two 🤷
I can do 5 miles 100 push-ups 20 pull ups now...But lack endurance and dicipline...
🎬Final take: It doesn't matter what people's perspectives are and it's never too late just follow tour passion. Don't let people hold you back because their calling is not yours. You'll wonder how it could have been if you tried. Watch out who your 5 closest friends are for you will be like them
👉I'm 34 and I'm signing up for option 40.
