Likewise I have a large collection, some dating back to the 50s, my pride and joy are my wonderful 1978 Sanyo RP 8880 sets, the are mains and battery operated but a bit too bulky for portable use and can pick up anything on a bit of damp string.

Oh, always wanted an NRD-535, wonderful radio, you're a lucky one, Tim!

Yes! With the Lowe upgrade, too. Left to me by a kind friend. Easy to use, a great receiver.

That Grundig Satellite made me gasp.

It also needed fairly little work. Electrolytics replaced, switches cleaned. The worst part was replacing the dreaded dial cord...

    I had a small drool when I saw the JRC NRD-535. 🤤😂

Yes! A kind friend, now a silent key, left it to me. It is also one of the upgraded ones, so it also carries the Lowe label.

The R707 in my video has a similar mod, so I can run it on 8 rechargeable AAs.
