Fun fact, I fished there where you were at way before watching this video. Got snagged or so I thought and reeled in that crank bait lmao. I have it back home in my tackle.
You mean pass the fence and walk on the slanted concrete? You aren’t supposed to, there is a path right where the concrete starts though and you can walk down.
@@DepotLease yes we seen it today and walked down the path that ran beside the concrete. We didn’t fish there but walked around. We did fish in between the kayak boat ramp and the outlet. Cleaned it up a bit. Was pretty trashed out. Caught a few bass and perch so it was a fun day.
You take lake Shore around by the lake and turn on Airport Rd. The entrance will be on your left, with a lift gate and have a Core of Engineering sign. Turn there and it dead ends into the spillway.
@@DepotLease that's okay man. I like to educate people on how to tell the difference because I use to get them mixed up too. Also fun fact: only a largemouth bass lip extends past it's eye when you close it's mouth.
It’s a hit or miss sometimes, but weekdays are usually slower, after 5 don’t even go because it is way too crowded. I recommend getting a net on a 25 foot rope to help haul the fish you catch up. Lol
You can type "Waco Spillway" into google maps. It will take you to the area by Airport Road. At that location will be a gated entrance that will say "Core of Engineers". Drive threw that gate and the road will dead end into the spillway.
Place has always been trashed. Lots of off character men in that park looking the company of other men. Good fishing when the dam runs open for a week or so.

Whaaat!? That hilarious. Lol You gotta catch a fish with it now.
I live just up the street from this spillway, and it’s so much fun fishing there👍
Love fishing there going by today 🤙
Hopefully you had some luck and didn't get rained out!
I’m pretty new to fishing does the spillway produce fish all year round
Slower in the heat of the day, but you can catch something there year around.
Could I ask y’all where this is? Is it in the Waco area
This is the Waco Spillway off of Airport road.
A tip for fishing with the jerk bait never stop reeling
Thank you for your videos! Especially nice to watch with our grandson - no swearing! Awesome!
Thanks for the compliment and stopping by!

I never knew you could pass the fence 🤦🏼♂️ I always casted my line and leaned it against the fence at the spillway.. huh didn’t know that

Thanks for doing that!
I appreciate seeing your setups and what you’re throwing when you switch to a new lure. That 2 second shot does not go unappreciated.
Thanks! I try to show all that I throw, but sometimes its just too slow to add it all into the video. lol
I still can’t find it
How do I get here exactly ?

That was a spotted bass, notice the diamond shape stripe pattern on its side
I was still new to bass fishing when I filmed this. Thanks for the info though!

That's actually not an impossible early morning drive for us. :)

Take a hoop net on a rope with you. There are potential record size fish there.
I see people doing this all of the time, I have one ready for the next time I go out!
That's my spot
It’s a great spot!
Wacoooooo
I'll be in waco doing some training next week. I plan on doing some fishing while I'm there. Can you give me an idea where this particular place is?

New sub. I also fish the spillway. Maybe I’ll see you out there sometime.
I have'nt been there in a while, but I will be heading back out ones white bass start running again!
I do good there with a chrome rattle trap.
Would 6 pound line work here?
I do not think so. It’s too far of a drop to the water, the line wouldn’t last since the fish you catch aren’t pan sized fish.
Thanks!
that was my cousins favorite spot to fish before he passed😪
That's always hard to deal with, but never forget the great memories.
I hate it when you loose your best bait and find out they have not maid it in over 10 years.
I completely agree, worst feeling!
Yeah its disgusting how much trash is on the bank around lake waco. It shows how much the modern day fisherman arnt real outdoorsman
Completely agree, people that spend more time out there do not want that junk in their area.
