Back when this cut was in style I would have my hair cut this way then wear it curly or wavy and it looked incredible. Nobody knows how to do this cut anymore though! They always want to texturize my hair to death because my hair is wavy but cuts like this work so much better for me. My hair is fine so cutting out too many layers leaves it looking thin. But this soft layering keeps enough volume and lets my hair separate naturally instead of looking chunky. I decided to learn to cut this myself simply because I can’t get a hairstylist to do it for me. They always go rogue and hack layers in and I end up with a shag or mullet. I hope I can learn to do this on myself!
I'm sticking with my 'cub cut', that my husband and I learned from you---my hubby, actually does the cut for me! I can't believe how it brings out my hidden waves, and the compliments I get on it. God bless you for your kind videos that break it down and can still give us a great amateur cut!
I like the cut you did. I use to be a cosmetologist years ago, I feel I learn more from all of you on here for certain hair cuts then what we ever learned in Cosmetology school. Thank you for trying to teach us former cosmetologists better on how to cut different styles. I’m enjoy it all.
Love and appreciate your videos! Started following you during the pandemic and found your clear explanations and visuals allowed me to give myself a decent haircut. Supported the industry through the years, loved getting my hair done, but as a retiree on a fixed income now, I can't thank you enough for allowing me to still feel good about having a stylish cut!
Good morning Paul...🌞 I loved the new cut! 🥰 Simple to do (because you explain it so well!) and the result was great! 👍🏻 Thank you very much! 🤗 Have a great day! ✨ Love from Germany! 🌷
Love your videos…you always come up with new ideas and help us, the one that haven’t been formally trained in hairdressing however you give such easy detailed way for us to try a new style ourselves. You come up with a lot of new hair styles and it’s so . Thanks, keep up they great work 😃
@@PaulWattsHair thank you Paul for sharing your beautiful work! Would you recommend this cut for white hair or can you suggest a nice cut with this length. A grateful new subscriber. 🤗
Not to brag but I've had the Rachel hair cut since '82. Back in the "80's when everybody had skyhigh teased & sprayed hair, mine was so fine & straight that it never held any other style-(except a bob). Thanks for the video!!
Her famous hair was a really expensive wig. I've seen photos of her without her wig or hairpiece. Her hair is naturally shorter and thinner. Its really well done so its not easy to tell.
I watched your video on the cub cut and love it. But I'm nervous. This cut seems like it would be a good first step to try, and eventually try the cub cut.
Simple instructions. A great cut to get movement and show highlights, and leaving enough length to still put it or style down . Love it, thank you Paul , Happy New Year😊
I was waiting for her to cut her hair because with her age even though she can still pull off long hair she's very beautiful but it's just really makes her look more youthful and this style looks very simple and Sassy❤
Keep on doing what you’re doing and also keep the explanations please! Some people here need to watch all of your videos! They may learn something. How do you make a very simple cut not boring?
I love your technique and make it as simple as possible. But is there a way you can shoot close up on point cutting technique? I am afraid to cut too much doing it on my own hair. Thank you!
I remember getting the original Rachel in 1994, in college, and was so excited. Only problem was my curly hair looked awful, so I had to always blow it out. But so cute
I think the cut instructions were delivered well, but the final result does not look like a Jennifer Cut because In think the model head’s hair way too thick!
Hello. How are you? I would like to know please what the difference is if you cut the hair with a single horizontal ponytail in the front with all the hair. Thank you.
I love the video however, if I tried to do ponytail cuts on my clients, they would not want to pay me so I don’t know how to explain to them that this is really great, and that they should pay me
The “new” one isn’t spectacular. It’s a similar cut and style only flatter and less astounding. People these days are so easily impressed. lol I do prefer the “old” one better though.
And section section section!!! Why are people cutting pony tails these days? Just do the haircut normal. People are going to start ruining their hair by cutting their pony tails off and then coming to us to fix that mess! Smh
It’s not the NEW Rachel ….because she’s Jennifer. And this is not something worn on show of her playing another Rachel. This is simply the Jennifer Aniston cut.
@PaulWattsHair but you've not shown how to cut the base. From the occipital down, cut the length with the head tilted then the remaining sections are cut with the head up. Then once layered the length is deep point cut with scissors or thinning sheers lightly. That's what I would do. I'm sure most clients may not want a drastic cut and are closer to that length and only want the length dusted.
do you know all the people out there that really do not know how to cut hair when they get out of hair school this does not help them whatsoever. I really believe Barbara school is the best place to go to learn to cut hair because she get clippers in the beginning you don’t get any scissors you stay there for probably six months and then you move on to pre-styling and you actually learn how to sculpt a head of hair I think your technique is nice, but it doesn’t benefit a lot of people. The majority that are out there that do not know how to cut hair properly.
Ageee that in school you learn the basics, theory , class room etc… spatial learners really struggle when first hitting the salon floor, not grasping the concepts of guides stationary /traveling , sections, etc in the classroom. Pony tail cuts are extremely helpful, a better understanding of how the hair travels, guides, sectioning and differences of layering to graduation. Like most things in life… practice, practice and more practice. Let’s not forget we didn’t have access to salons for a year during Covid… keep ‘em coming Paul
IMO, this is for people that cut their own hair, it started during Covid when no one could go out & get a haircut. I personal love the ponytail haircuts & other things he shows us. Don’t stop Paul!!!
Great video , Paul demonstrates so well , such a simple idea with the 2 ponytails and the outcome fantastic , love Jennifer’s haircuts

Hi Monique, thank you appreciate it
Great video! Chris McMillian cut my hair about 10 years ago and it was the best haircut I've ever had. It was very similar to this cut. Thank you!
Agree she has not been Rachael for a long time

I literally just got this haircut on Thursday 🥰 didn't even know it was trending 😍
Perfect, thanks🧡😁

Beautiful...you make things look so easy.
It is easy when you know where hair needs to be placed

@@JustCammie thank you for watching Cammie
Question ...should the back be pulled loosely like that?
Wow fantastisch 😍😍👏👏
Hey thankyou soo much i had tried ur wolf cut and i am.in love wd my hair thankyou once again stay blessed and keep shinning bright❤❤❤
Hello Paul, I just ran across this video, loving it and going to try it. Should I cut my hair dry as you did or wet, as I normally do? Thank you.
Great question. ❤
It ought to be called the Buffy cut cuz that is exactly the iconic Buffy The Vampire Slayer haircut. xD I had my hair like this for years.
YES!! Its similar isnt it!!
Buffy was ahead of her time.
Gratitude 🥰🥰🙏
Awesome explanation ! Thank you 👍
Love the look but how simple is to cut the original Rachel look? I think I liked it better.
Pretty simple, i think ive got a video on my channel
Awesome! 🙂
Thank you Rach
I have the cub cut, but didn't do it with ponytails, because I need to be a professional. I love the OG rachel.
Hello. How are you?
I would like to know please what the difference is if you cut the hair with a single horizontal ponytail in the front with all the hair.
Thank you.
What's different from the butterfly? The sectioning? Is it the parting just behind the ears that's different?
Great question, its length and placement of front and back sections
@@PaulWattsHair ty!! Wish I knew how to point cut. I'm not a trained stylist, but I can do basic cuts.
@@cat--- so cool, keep practicing
Thankyou great explaining🎉
Wow amazing!!😍😍
Fab love watching your videos!!!
Thanks Sarah appreciate it
Love it my friend ❤
I'm glad you like it
Thank you great video!❤️
Amazing!! 😮❤
You know what Paul?? Your Rachel 2024 cut looks BETTER than Jennifers!!
Haha thank you Sharon
Fantastic ❤
Love it ❤
Thank you so much
Could I cut this cut the way you did, by just having the hair in my hands at once? If you get what I am saying.
You can, but the back section probably wouldnt be elevated enough. thats why i secured the back at the top
I did it Pau! It looks beautiful
I have black dark hair and it looks very sexy too.
Thanks for share your talent.❤
Love it
Thanks Katy x
I was excited!i thought that you mean rachel from the first season of "friends "...but no....
Lovely. Xx
Love it 😊
Perfect❤
Thank you Farid
Dry hair or wet?
Yay thank you !! ☆☆☆
Honestly looks like a shoulder length bob. Wish there was a little more volume, looks a little flat. But looks really nice on your mannequin.
I like it❤
My current tan line 😂
So...short-to-long layers under the occipital, in back, and a round layer on top? yeah?
Cortei esse corte, visual jovem!
I love the video however, if I tried to do ponytail cuts on my clients, they would not want to pay me so I don’t know how to explain to them that this is really great, and that they should pay me
You don't want to do ponytail cuts on clients, just use it as a tool to understand sections and elevation
Boa noite!
Um abraço aqui do Brasil / São Paulo
🇧🇷 🩷 💇♀️
Thank you 🇧🇷
I was ☠️ with take the head off and shake it lmfao my friend wants me to cut her hair like this hahaha
Beautiful!! I would like to see how you would do the Hoda hair cut?
The old Rachel haircut was prettier
Haircut is trending - thanks for warning not to look silly, like the crowd of zombies
lütfen türkçe alt yazı da gelsin
it looks chunkier to me than Jennifer's....the layers around her face look longer
The “new” one isn’t spectacular. It’s a similar cut and style only flatter and less astounding. People these days are so easily impressed. lol I do prefer the “old” one better though.
❤🎉
I'm sorry, you're not making sense. Very hard to follow his tutorial! The 90 degree angle commentary was confusing 😕
Bei dir sieht das viel besser aus als bei Jennifer Aniston. Vielleicht sollte sie mal zu dir gehen😊
Had to fast forward to the end..u almost lost me with the ponytails
Right
That's not a Rachel that's a butterfly cut
That does not look like the same haircut you need to texturized the holy hell out of it
It does need a lot of weight removal to look like Jennifer's hair, it was only a quick way to help understand the placement of sections
And section section section!!! Why are people cutting pony tails these days? Just do the haircut normal.
People are going to start ruining their hair by cutting their pony tails off and then coming to us to fix that mess! Smh
Jennifer has had much better cuts in the past imo.
Plus, having for freaking advertisements when you’re trying to watch, she was impossible to learn to to to to to to
The adverts are automatically placed, it's the way of RUclips making this platform free
Looks like the same cut she has had for 30 years
🍉🍒🍓🍍
Well, it does not look the same as Rachel’s
Your model hair is great beautiful cut. A’s hair looks greasy and dirty
It’s not the NEW Rachel ….because she’s Jennifer. And this is not something worn on show of her playing another Rachel. This is simply the Jennifer Aniston cut.
Big deal! That's just semantics! It's a great way to get the same cut❤❤❤❤
You're right!! But most people know her for that iconic haircut.
You know Jazz
Yes you’re right but it was ALWAYS called the RACHEL. Beautiful, timeless, haircut!💇♀️
@PaulWattsHair but you've not shown how to cut the base. From the occipital down, cut the length with the head tilted then the remaining sections are cut with the head up. SORRY.. but thats NOT
jennifer aniston's haircut....
jen's layers are thinner.....
Your haircut doesn't look
anything like jen's haircut 😮
Just shorter.
Your finished cut looks a bit more like an "it" girl from the 1960's than the Rachel...
Her hair looks dirty and unkept! I hope she kept the receipt 🙈
Nah this is the most boring cut I’ve seen in ages…no reflection on you Paul 💞
I prefer it with a central parting, frames the face better
I don't like the color of her hair. It dosen't stand out.
The manequin?
The mannequin does need a colour yes
I think so
Nope doesn’t look the same
Too much talking
You wish
90 years later he cuts it when this video could of been a short. I'm a hair dresser. I'd never cut it with pony tails.
You take way too long to explain this. You also repeat yourself a lot . I had to turn it off .
Oh no
@@PaulWattsHair I wanted to give you honest feedback. I was really wanting to like the videos too. 🤍
