Glad you gave Pentatonix a try and enjoyed their version of this classic song! They've got over 200 songs in their catalog, mostly covers but about 20% originals, so there's plenty more for you to choose from!
FYI: many people seem to make the mistake of thinking that "a cappella" means "no music", when what it really means is "without instrumental accompaniment". Pentatonix makes their music with their voices, or sometimes with physical percussion from their beatboxer Kevin, but they definitely make music!

I wish I could say I was your age but I'm 9 years older. About this group - I don't think I've seen a group with both such musicality and personalities since the Beatles. Yes, I said that and I'm British. They are to the a capella world what the Beatles were to pop music. They revolutionised the genre.
I'm not going to suggest anything coz everyone else will have plenty of suggestions but I would say that when Christmas comes around you should check out their Christmas music. I'm not a Christmas person but they take those songs and carols and refresh them with a twist every time while still respecting the originals.

One thing of note for this group, they're chameleons in both ability (many genres, all expertly presented) and look! Seeing how Kirsty and Mitch change every video is a fun exercise! I lend my voice to the others who suggest Imagine, I also suggest The Prayer, but you could literally just load up their channel and pick something, either a song you already love and want to see how they do, or once you trust them as a group, a song you don't really like to see if they can rehabilitate it for you!

Pentatonix is THE a cappella band to listen to. They're the only a cappella band with a Grammy, except they have 3. They're also the only a cappella band with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
    The members of Pentatonix:
    In this video we have:
    • First soloist: Scott Hoying, lyric baritone. Scott's range begins somewhere in the middle of a normal bass range and extends upward through most of a normal tenor range. He is known for his riffs and runs. When their bass has a solo Scott can and does take over the bass line in the accompaniment.
    • Second soloist: Mitch Grassi (pronounced Grah'-see, emphasis on the first syllable), contratenor. Mitch has a range of just over 6 octaves but prefers the higher part of that range - in this song he was singing a bit lower than he likes, though still well within his range. He's known for his ethereal high solos; I recommend their cover of "The Prayer" to really hear the angelic quality of his voice.
    • Third soloist: Matt Sallee (pronounced Suh-lee', emphasis on the second syllable) lyric bass. This video was made four years ago, and Matt's range has grown considerably since. To hear the full extent of his range I recommend listening to a recent performance of "Hallelujah," where the bass sings the second verse. Matt's arrangement seems to be designed to show off the full extent of his range, and it blows me away. He isn't quite down to basso profundo yet (though I expect he will be within a year or two) but his highest note is near the top of a normal tenor range! Before you react to that, though, you should react to their official video for "Hallelujah." That will introduce you to Pentatonix's first bass, Avi (pronounced Ah'-vee, emphasis on the first syllable) Kaplan, who left the band for personal reasons in 2017 and was replaced by Matt later that year. (More about Avi later.) Once you've done that you can find a live stream of "Hallelujah" from their recent world tour here: ruclips.net/video/ASYzLoi810k/видео.html
    • Fourth soloist: Kirstin (also known as Kirstie, which rhymes with thirsty) Maldonado, alto soprano and the only woman in Pentatonix. Kirstie sings everything from a low alto through coloratura soprano, the highest soprano range, and she has fantastic whistle notes on top of that. When asked whether she can sing higher than Mitch or vice versa no one is quite certain; I suspect that it varies from one day to the next. Everyone agrees, however, that Kirstie has the best whistle notes. To hear a song where Kirstie shows off her high notes I recommend "Seasons of Love," preferably from their live Fourth of July performance.
    • The fifth member of Pentatonix is Kevin Olusola (pronounced Oh-loosh"-oh-luh', primary emphasis on the second syllable, secondary emphasis on the fourth), beatboxer extraordinaire. Kevin has perfect pitch and has been classically trained since childhood on cello, saxophone, and piano. When he was a teenager he performed at Carnegie Hall twice, once on the saxophone and once on the cello. He's known for beatboxing while playing the cello, which he refers to as "celloboxing." He has a premed degree from Yale and had already been accepted to Yale Medical School when he was asked to join Pentatonix (when the band was just beginning, in 2011); he had to give up his dream of becoming a brilliant surgeon to become a professional musician instead. He speaks five languages fluently: English, Spanish, French, German, and Mandarin Chinese. He's generally too busy being the entire percussion section to sing, but when he does sing he has a lovely tenor voice that occasionally dips into the upper end of the baritone range. He's one of the kindest people in the world, and when he laughs the whole planet seems like a brighter place.
    • Not in this video: Avi Kaplan, lyric bass. Avi is an operatically trained basso profundo, but his range extends upward to about midway through a normal tenor range. As previously mentioned he left Pentatonix in 2017 for personal reasons, but he has since gone on to have a very successful solo career; I highly recommend subscribing to his RUclips channel: youtube.com/@AviKaplanMusic

@@grumpyoldguyreacts There are a few other good a cappella groups; the top ones are probably Home Free, Voctave, and Citizen Queen. Voctave has 11 members, both male and female. Citizen Queen is entirely female, and Home Free is entirely male; IMO a mixture of male and female voices is superior.
There's a video on Home Free's RUclips channel of Avi Kaplan performing "Ring of Fire" with Home Free, which gave them two basses in that performance - to my ear that cover sounds EXACTLY like Johnny Cash singing the same song.
But the group to really keep your eyes (and ears) on is Acapop! KIDS. It's composed of a number of young people ranging in age from 12 to 17; they currently have 26 members. Scott Hoying founded the group in 2019, with the intention of getting the next generation of a cappella singers starting young. As the members age out I expect several new adult a cappella groups to be formed that are at least as good as Pentatonix.
One other group worth mentioning was originally known as The Swingle Singers; I believe they now just call themselves The Swingles. They're essentially a choir, based in Great Britain. They were founded by a man named Swingle (big surprise), and they AREN'T specifically a cappella. But many years ago I bought one of their albums named "Bach Hits Back," which is all a cappella scat renditions of music by Bach. Absolutely gorgeous.

Welcome aboard the ss Pentatonix! Weve been expecting you, as anyone who hears one song cant stop! There are many ports of call on this cruise and i suggest you visit them all. Ptx is the OG modern Acapella group, resurrecting what record labels considered a dead genre. but ptx started posting on RUclips and their careers took off. All the acapella groups now such as home free and voiceplay were after and enjoyed traveling that road ptx paved for them. Unlike other groups, ptx can sing any genre. R & b to rock, soul to edm, rap to classical, jazz to pop, country to gospel. You name it. Originally thought of as a christmas band, or a cover group that specialized in covers (or upgrades as we call it), they do have originals too. Just as usually theyre acapella but a few theyll use instruments. Theyre multi platinum, 3 time grammy award winning with nomination just this last year, and probably another next year. Theyre a nember of the 5 billion views club at youtube, have sung at numerous award events and the national anthem for the college football championships, just got a star on the hollywood walk of fame, and partipated in the reality show 'the masked singer'. Not bad for a "dead" genre, huh? Now if only we can get radio stations to play their music! My suggestion next is reacting to some earlier stuff to start with that had their former bass singer, avi, such as hallelujah, daft punk and dance if the sugar plum fairy, those last two won grammys. After daft punk official video (literally filmed in avi's closet, so such an enormous budget back then! Lol) watch the private performance of daft punk in a green room with just a cell phone camera and no mics at all or mixing. Just their voices. My favorite is mitch, the contratenor. Hes the small guy with the mullet. Hes probably their best singer but this song doesnt showcase him as much as ptx rotates the lead role. Very much a team. Enjoy the journey!!! Have you considered reacting to history as well such as oversimplified videos? An off topic suggestion. 😊

    Pentatonix
They won The Sing Off in 2011. They made a guest starring appearance on America′s Got Talent as non−competitors a couple of years after that.
    The founding members are:-
    Scott Hoying (tall blond guy, natural baritone but has an impressive five−to−six octave range, can go all the way up to high tenor and down to bass, sings the bass lines when the usual bass singer takes the lead);

Kirstin "Kirstie" (Rhymes with "Thirsty") Maldonado (the only female member, natural mezzo soprano, but can go down to low alto and as high as upper soprano, also can sing in whistle notes that are off the scale); For a time in 2018 between the group’s tours, had the female lead on Broadway in the production of “Kinky Boots”.
    Mitch Grassi (a true contra−tenor, can hit high notes in his chest voice with ease and go WAY higher in his falsetto, also with ease);
Avriel "Avi" Kaplan (dark beard and long hair), true basso profundo, trained as an opera singer, also can go up into the tenor range; and
Kevin "KO" Olusola (beatboxer extraordinaire, also is a world−class cellist who plays cello on some of their songs, has a beautiful high tenor voice and gets occasional lead vocal solos as well, graduated pre−med from Yale and speaks several languages including Mandarin Chinese).
Kirstie, Scott & Mitch grew up together in Arlington, Texas, and began performing together as children in local youth musical theater. They ended up in high school together and performed in the choir. While there, they formed an a cappella group called The Trio which had several performance videos go viral on RUclips, most notably a cover of Lady Gaga′s "Telephone". The three of them are best friends and consider themselves to be almost siblings.
Scott & Kirstie (who were a class year ahead of Mitch) both graduated high school in 2010 and went their separate ways to different colleges, Scott at USC and Kirstie at Oklahoma.
While at USC, Scott joined a USC−based a cappella group called the SoCal VoCals, where he met alumnus Ben Bram, who was now an arranger and vocal coach for the NBC TV show The Sing Off, an a cappella competition show. Ben convinced Scott to get The Trio to audition for the show. The three reunited (Mitch had to skip high school graduation ceremonies to go) in Los Angeles for the audition.
They found out that the rules had changed, so they needed at least five members to audition. Ben put them together with Avi (a native of Visalia, California), who he knew from Avi′s performing days at Mount San Antonio College in California. They found Kevin (from Kentucky) through one of his RUclips videos that had gone viral featuring him playing the cello and beatboxing at the same time, a talent that Kevin coined as "Cello−Boxing".
Kevin arrived in Los Angeles literally the day before the audition! Scott came up with the name "Pentatonix" after the pentatonic scale. They performed a re−arrangement of "The Telephone" for the audition and passed, despite having been together as a five−piece group for less that 24 hours!
They won The Sing Off that season (all of the performances are available on RUclips), in which they received a substantial cash prize AND a record contract with Epic Records. They pooled their prize winnings together and all moved to Los Angeles, and all got apartments right next door to each other in the same building.
But just a week later, Epic dropped them because the marketing people didn′t think an a cappella group could sell records.
Instead of giving up, they were determined and began recording their own songs on RUclips, hiring Ben Bram as their producer and arranger. These usually consisted of the five of them sitting on a couch and performing cover songs live.
Several of the videos went viral, and Sony (the parent company of Epic) decided to give them another chance by placing them on one of their smaller labels, Madison Gate. They released two secular EPs and one Christmas EP on Madison Gate, all of which were strong sellers.
But when their cove r of a medley of songs by Daft Punk not only went super−viral, but also won them their first Grammy, they were promoted all the way up to RCA Records, Sony′s top label.
They began writing and producing their own songs in addition to their covers, began putting out a Christmas album just about annually (which has become their best−selling genre), and have had multi−platinum album sales, sold−out world tours, and have won two additional Grammys.
Avi began getting burned out with all of the touring and heavy recording schedule, was suffering from anxiety and personal problems, and learned that his mother had been diagnosed with cancer in 2017. He announced he was departing from the group and taking some time away from the music industry.
Matt Sallee (from Baltimore) joined them in September 2017. He did only become official when they renewed their RCA contract in February 2018, but he recorded with them in September as a featured artist and went on their Christmas tour as a featured artist, as well. When he attended the audition for the group, he had already mastered the Bass part for most if not all their past catalogue. He was successful and has proved that he fits in well with the group.
If you think there have been other changes to the line up - look again. This is the ONLY change. Kirstie and Mitch are like chameleons and change looks frequently.
After a year away from music, Avi has now returned as a phenomenal solo artist in the Folk/Americana/Roots genre.
Ben Bram has been in charge of their production, including arranging and directing from the beginning. He is often referred to as the sixth member. Scott and Kevin are major players in the arrangements, but every member contributes. A good watch is "The Recording of Evergreen" where a camera was invited into the studio for the second week of recording/
Also, all members are songwriters for both Pentatonix and their own solo work.
Ed Boyer who mixes everything of theirs (even the HWB Livestream) is the one who pulled Ben Bram into the sing off in the first place.
They have Grammy wins for Daft Punk Medley, Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy, and Jolene featuring Dolly Parton. They were nominated for a 4th Grammy for their album Evergreen, but didn't win.
Kirstie became a new mum which caused a pause in touring after their Evergreen Christmas tour 2021. Mid March 2023 Kirstie has announced that she is engaged to Ben Hausdorff, their videographer. No dates YET!
They have a star on the Hollywood walk of fame installed in February 2023. They are the only a capella group with a star!
They came 3rd in the 2023 Masked Singer performing as "California Rolls" being unmasked in May 23.
Things you need to know because if you get these wrong Pentaholics will come after you with pitch forks and torches! Ha Ha!!
1- There is NO Auto-Tune; what you hear is actually what they sing. They really are that good. One exception is the 90's Dance Medley where Cher used autotune as an effect - so they had to.
2- What produces everything that you hear in the video, you see in the official video. If there is an instrument used in the music, you see it on screen. In the 2022 Christmas album, there are some instruments not featured throughout the album.
3- They never release something on video they can’t reproduce with the exact same quality live on-stage.
