    Oh, this is perfect! I recently found a couch I'm in love with except the back of it isn't tufted, making it look a bit lumpy and plain. I tried to find websites that allow for customizing couches, but none of them allow for adding a very specific feature the one I love has (wood trim and metal accents at the bottom. It's the Ethan line of couches from Castlery). As there's more that I love about the couch than what I don't like, I think I'll still get it and just DIY the tufts with this guide. Thank you so much!

    You lost me at 00:58....
    Is the needle going through the other side??
    Also wasn't the thread already through the button? Just asking for clarity.

    • @ComfortWorks
      @ComfortWorks  3 года назад +3

      Yes, the needle is pushed through the cushion to come out from the other side, this is a two sides tufting styles, so there's a button on each side of the cushion ;)

    can I take tuft buttons apart and reuse? and anything else i can use if i dont have a long needle, i am redoing a headboard , thanks

    • @ComfortWorks
      @ComfortWorks  2 года назад

      Hi Jay, you do need a needle that's long enough to run the thread through, if your needle is still short, you can try to flatten the cushion as much as you can to reduce its width while you run the needle through.

    My couch pillow is very similar to this one, I'm constantly fluffing the pillows I hoped that adding buttons will help it maintain its shape better, what size buttons did you use? Great video

      HI there, the buttons used here are 2.6cm(1 inch) in diameter

      I found another video explaining this ruclips.net/video/bXBObylr6LM/видео.html -- In short, tie a square not after you've tightened the slip knot into place. The above video skips this step.

    How long should be the needle?

    • @ComfortWorks
      @ComfortWorks  2 года назад +1

      just long enough to fit through the cushion, our tufting kit comes with a 20cm long needle and it works perfectly fine in this scenario 😉

    How do I do this to a couch with attached cushions?

    • @ComfortWorks
      @ComfortWorks  Год назад

      Hi Mae! Unfortunately, we are unable to make covers for couches with attached cushions because of the way they are built. We would suggest working with a local upholsterer to get some covers made for your couch. All the very best!

    Are you not supposed to tie off the slip knot after tightening it to the correct position? I would imagine the button would slip loose if you don't.

    • @ComfortWorks
      @ComfortWorks  4 года назад +1

      Hi Suzie, As seen in the video, all you need to do is to thread the twine into the button(0:38), once you insert the thread into the needle and run it through the cushion, the side shown at 0:50 is done, you can simply move to the other side and finish by inserting the second button and pulling the thread which will also tighten the button on the other side. hope this helps :)
