I cannot run the same link for other hosts in same local network running via VLC
only running in local host (same computer running obs) i want to run it in multiple hosts, please help

@@TechT2 I'm trying to connect via the VLC iOS app, but it is showing a "playback failed" error. I have set up the firewall port rules, but it is still not working. Do you have any suggestions? (It works on my PC when I stream.)
I can confirm, I can watch the stream on the same PC, but I can't watch it on another PC at the same network (even having firewall rules applied)
@@user-yt2cv9ke1y same issue for me. I already set outbound and inbound firewall rules for udp 9999 on both computer , also enabled ICMP request to be sure but still the same. Let me know guys if you figure something out

use an IP address that is multicast enables such as ones starting with 224 or 239
following the exact steps, after i press record OBS fire an error says :
"there is no sufficient disk space to continue recording"
Please check your Hard disk space...
@@TechT2 , i have 2 TB , and 1.25 TB is FREE . so its not space problem
@@DoctorMGL There is a known bug where if you use FFmpeg custom output, the regular output path is checked instead. Turn off the custom output, set a valid path, then go back to custom.

had to set rtp_mpegts container and replace url with rtp:// in obs. vlc would not use udp:// to save my life.

In the "File path or URL" field, at the end of the URL for IP address and port number it has ?pkt_size=1316 , what does this signify?
Does it need to be in this address.
ffmpeg pkt_size=1316 for use Stream, You can also class A,B,C,D,E ip use range.

you will have to use multicast ip address range
also make sure your routing switch has igmp snooping feature enabled 👍🏻
Update, I got this to work with a monaserver works amazingly. I give out a rtmp address and you login flawlessly

Does this work from pc to pc? Because I tried it but all my other computers are on Linux or Macos and I can't seam to open the stream... Is this a Linux problem or a VLC problem? because it works fine on windows
this should work on any OS and pc to pc. all you need is OBS on one pc and VLC or similar on the other pc.
1) make sure all of your PCs are on the same network and can see each other.
2) double check your settings if you did everything like in this video
3) make sure that the ip adress maches the ip adress of the pc that is running obs studio. the ip adress is most likely different than shownin this video.
note: if you use dhcp, your ip adress may be different each time you reboot your pc. set the ip manually on the pc or reserve an adress on the router.
4) check if you have added a video source and that you hit "record" on OBS (not "stream")
5) if it still doesn't work, there may be firewall settings preventing a pc to pc connection. check your computers firewall and security settings as well as the routers.

if both devices are on a local network, a similar configuration should be simple. Global transmission is also feasible, but would likely require configuration of firewall settings on both devices and their respective network modems.
Find the local IP of the device you want to play the video on, and input that instead of the IP of the host device.
