Out of all her solo records 'Dreams' has the most commercial potential. I love Manhole, but it's too weird to have any commercial success. Only her hardcore fans will dig it. She said in her book if her solo albums didn't sell she would have to spend her own money producing them. It was a wise move for to quit while she was breaking even and go back with Jefferson Starship. This song is definitely about her fight with alcoholism. The whole album is about recovery in one way or another.

I always felt the songs on this album were equal parts about her struggles and her friend Janis Joplin's. Especially Let it Go. Beautiful album filled with dark hope
