    No joke, your RUclips channel is a litteral saviour..... learning an Instrument through youtube is incredibly overwhelming where you're bombarded by information from all directions. Your channel however , gives clear concise and necessary information needed from the absolute beginning.... thank you!

    Another tip maybe: I work in a drugstore company (office). currently i am practicing house of the rising sun. Today we had a motivational speech about creativity in home office. and during that meeting i changed the text of the house of the rising sun in something like "i got a mouse in my blue jeans, it ...." in geman of course. and played it for the team. It was so funny and it helped me to .... play with the notes and the words. it was an amazing experience. My real life teacher was very pleased because it combiend so much fun with practice and playing with the notes (playing a little different that what we predetermined).

    Great advice here! I particularly agree with the first point about getting performing with other musicians early on. Music is ultimately a collaborative activity. Practicing on your own can only go so far and getting in a room with other musicians can suddenly make the whole thing make sense!

      Hi David, thanks mate. Yea always wish I had started that sooner than I did, learnt so much and got way better just by playing with better musicians and trying to keep up. Love the channel btw, great work 👍

    THANK YOU AGAIN!
    Today i followed tip 1 and played with a drummer. Currently i barely can play house of the rising sun in an easy version with both hands. Todays session was mindblowing. It was similar to firts playing with both hands. Amazing. After a short period of time i got into it and we plyed ... together.... me only playing melody ... both hand again ... a little harder both together ... wooooooooooooooow. Respect to the drummer who was very patient and gave me a lot of tips like "just keep playing" and so on.

      Great stuff, well done. It takes some getting used to at first but it's well worth it, eventually you start to get locked in with each other and it's really good for your inner sense of rhythm

    Started learning piano 3 weeks ago on my own and with some RUclips videos. I have learned other instruments over the years and your stuff is spot on. One thing I wish I had done more with other instruments is to use a metronome. My keyboard has one built in, so that has been really handy. Focused practice is super important, although noodling around just for fun is good too (it just can't be the only thing). So much to learn... The pace and cadence of your delivery keeps me listening and engaged with the ideas, and there is just enough repetition to help them sink in. I am very happy to be subscribed and look forward to digging into more videos. Thank you!

    First of all I love your channel. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us. Finding a good teacher is the most important thing. Methods vary from instructor to instructor. I have been leaning guitar and wanted to start doing some home recording. I recently purchased a midi controller keyboard and came across a couple of your videos. As a beginner your lessons are good place for me to start. The last segment of this video you mention the importance of Music Theory and intervals. Intervals and how to play them on your instrument should be the first thing anyone learns. They are the building blocks of music.

    I loved the first tip! Any tips on finding people/places to perform. I was thinking of the instrument stores and lovely and in my place, I do know a musical cafe wherein people could go in and perform. I will definitely add that to my list since practicing hasn't been on my list lately.

    • @PianoFromScratch

      I mostly ended up playing with friends when I was younger and then just meeting people through the music scene playing gigs really. Depends where you are but places to meet musicians might be, rehearsal spaces, jam sessions/local gigs/open mic nights, local music groups/music schools and things like that. Also worth looking for any groups on facebook for your area

    Define "as a begginer" because definitely as a begginer, going to play in a band or with friends I don't think doing "cdefgfedc" will be fun xD

      Haha no but you can play simple things with other people soon enough. Musicians who play with others tend to get further much quicker for many reasons and so it’s just something I encourage people to do if they can. And by beginner, I mean the beginner phase l, not your first day

    I think the most helpful tip was to PRACTICE FREQUENTLY and don't try to sabotage yourself by thinking you don't have enough time to practice properly so you forgo it
    Completely

    • @PianoFromScratch
      @PianoFromScratch  2 года назад +1

      Yes it's simple but makes such a difference to most things you learn. I might have to steal your phrase 'sabotage yourself' in the future, that's a great way to put it 🙂
