However, I was thinking of just adding more money to it and getting the Mantis 10 base. Which one would you recommend? I can cancel my order for the ghost. Please let me know as soon as possible....
@@Bobbyzjr That's a tough one. Both ar great scooters and great value. The Ghost is slightly less money. The Ghost has better acceleration from a dead stop, but the Mantis is faster from 25mph and up. Top speeds are about equal. The Mantis has more range at 29 miles vs 22 miles, though we rode the Ghost a little faster during our range test. Really, they are so close, I'd weigh out which one you like the look of the best. The Ghost is a tiny bit sportier in its riding style. Suspension and throttle are more abrupt. The Mantis is a little more of a GT: a smooth and fast grand tourer. I don't know if that helps at all. Bang for the buck its really really hard to beat either of those two. -Paul

Is the “VORO motors Mantis SE” The best way to go? Is that considered a Mantis pro? Also KAABO USA said they have the same scooter as the SE and they would have the scooter out to me ASAP. It’s just so confusing. I’m assuming the Mantis SE is definitely better than the ghost right? Thank you
I have kaabo mantis pro se (24,5ah) and it has all the specs I need, acceleration, range, speed is enough to keep up with the traffic, it is quite portable and very nimble when driving in the city, also I like the suspension. I really like that you can change the settings to make it less agresive and get better range and when you have the right mood you can wake up the beast and have fun. Overall best scooter for me and I tried a lot of them. Great job electric scooter guide 👏👍👌

I have a Mantis 10 Pro, and the only thing i recommend for someone getting it is to have preinstalled the foldable handlebar, and turn signals (if possible). The scooter is beefy, but using only one hand at full speed is scary to say the least.

The Mantis 10 model line includes 5 models. Mantis Single 800w with smaller battery pack 13Ah (I have this) or the bigger 18Ah. Mantis Single with 1500w with 18Ah battery pack. Mantis Dual 2000w with 18 Ah ( I am about to purchase that next week) or 24,5Ah battery pack. You missed to review the most of them.
Depending on who the re-seller is, they can spec them out differently, for sure. We only included the ones we've been able to do complete hands-on testing with.

Alright here's the dilemma, I love the 10, but I hear the quality of the newer 8 is significantly better and has a lot less play in the joints. Is this true? Is the 8 more solid and "tight" when co paring it to the 10? I have a 10 on order and I may need to cancel it because I need a solid reliable platform... check out rk9 rides review of the 8 at 2:15 he explains it and that really concerns me!
I just got the 8 from kaabousa. The issues rk9 mentions has all been resolved in their latest model. The stem is really sturdy. The tires are tubeless. The eco/turbo buttons now have led indicator and the horn button now actually works.

I wrote up a review on reddit, but log story short it feels more solid than any other scooter ive owned (FFR Horizon, Zero 9, Zero 10, Ninebot max, Xiamoi M365, GXL V2 gotrax etc.) so thats great. One thing i would recommend to every reviewer out there is to please, please please touch base on the Hall sensored motors! I did NOT know the Mantis didnt have hall sensors! I am very keen to the way it rides and the glitchy, on/off nature is accentuated by not having hall sensors and the fact that this scooter is so fast, makes it dangerous to not have them IMHO. I pulled off the deck and found out the motors have hall sensors, but they are just not hooked up tp anything because the controller does not have them... I really hope that they release a sinewave or future controller with the halls so i can upgrade and get that feature. The motor runs smoother, more efficient, quieter and more controllable with them. End rant.

Well, I prefer the Kaabo Mantis Pro. I might have to get used to it for a while but it has tons of settings. In the end I'd have the power I want in a sleek, sexy scooter.
I like the description of the smallest Mantis 8 basic model. Can get one for 1000 euros in Finland. I weigh around 82 kilos, 50 years old and just want a smooth ride(suspension), on pavement, quality build, ability to go up reasonable hills with reasonable speed, ability to carry a rucksack, range of 30 km+, max speed of 25km/h is just fine (legal speed in Finland). Cost no more than 1000 euros. Would commute to work on summer days, 25 km one-way with possibility to charge during work time of 6-10 hours in between rides. Would Mantis 8 basic be a good choice? Anything else, cheaper but with smooth suspension, available in Europe?
The mantis would be fine but i doubt it is lehal over there tho. The dual motors is probably a biy overkill for your needs tho unless you have some pretty steep hills :)
Is there any way a ignition key that can be installed on the Kaabo Mantis SE? Any suggestions? That is the only thing I dont like about the Mantis scooters
This will sound like a stupid noob question but what is the difference between these Manti and like a Voro motors Kaabo Mantis pro SE? Are they from the same company but slightly different variants they can custom order?
Actually, this is a great question! Each retailer can spec out their own exact flavor of Mantis, so it can get a little confusing. Thankfully, companies are adding their own names, like Voro's "SE" to help us tell them apart. Someone also offers a Mantis 8 with two 500W motors rather than two 800W motors! I think, over time we'll see more branding on each of the scooters, i.e. something like "Fluid Mantis Pro" which will help us keep them all straight. The ones we are testing here all came from Fluid Freeride. -Paul

Wow, that's a tricky one. I don't know of any seats available as a direct bolt-on for the Mantis. The deck has kind of a tricky profile to clamp on to. Have you reached out to Fluidfreeride? They may have some ideas. -Paul

Idk if you would be able to help but I bought the mantis 8 from kaabo. Hook everything up turn on the screen and the screen glitches. Then goes dark. It’s fully charged. I’m in the middle of talking with kaabo but they’re taking forever to get back. I even reached out to fluid. I’m on some of the forums and a few people are saying it’s a bad lcd. Now I can still take it out and ride it. But I can’t see anything. What could it be? Thanks.
I am thinking about buying Mantis 8 I'd want ECO (rear drive 48V 18.2Ah 800W Motor, Disc brake EABS), but I only have the option of getting PLUS (48v 18.2Ah 2 x 800W Motor, Semi Hydraulic brakes ) and PRO (48v 24.5Ah 2 x 800W Motor, Minimotors Controller and throttle, full hydraulic brakes, LG battery ) Now, the main thing that makes me wanna get the mantis 8 is the tires are tubeless - could anyone tell me if there is any other brands/models aside from EMOVE Cruiser and Ninebot Max that have tubeless pneumatic tires? while being light enough Also, out of the 3 models which would you suggest? I am leaning on the ECO, but can't find it, my only concern is should you spend x2 more for LG batteries if you don't need 75km range (I only need like 20-30km in a day)

Good evening! I recently bought Kaboo Mantis 10 Base 18.5ah 60V, not professional. I used it, there is no manual, I found it on the Internet - it did not help. Such a scooter for the first time, in the display settings it is indicated that the scooter turns off at 53V. Today it was 58, I was driving and turned off on the go, although the charge remained, how to solve this problem? If he turns off on the Chinese Kugoo M4 pro because he can no longer drive, then he immediately cuts off. I had to walk home. What is its minimum voltage, if max 67V. Thanks! And it does not show the speed correctly, in the manual in the P2 motor magnetic pole settings - you need to specify 30, but it does not show correctly anyway.

Things like bolts and mounting points coming loose early in ownership, lots of braking issues, electronics/throttle problems. Obviously it’s a popular scooter and more numbers means more faults along the way. Still a nice scooter and still in my next list. But should I wait in hope of a new version.......?

@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide The most predominant one is the magnet falling out. Half a dozen customers had problems with them falling out, even one new scooter in the shop missing the magnet entirely. E10 errors galore, had 4 units with E10 straight out of the box. However, we also had a spate of failures on one particular SMD chip, on it's Vcc pin in the Minimotor ey3 display Throttle circuit board. I had 2 failures and other 2 stores had 1 each. Mind you, the store I worked in sold several hundred Kaabos a year.
irrelevent to this video but i commented anyway......ive got the 2022 Mantis and the 2022 Dualtron mini The Dualtron is in my opinion a better purchase and their both basically the same price too (depending on model of Mini or Mantis) The Dueltron mini in my opinion is better for every day usesge, that being said, please do NOT get it twisted or confused, im in no way whatsoever saying or implying that the Kaabo Mantis is a POS or a bad investment bcse its NOT, the Kaabo Mantis its a monster and is worth purchasing, This comment is MY OWN personal opinion and NOT a fact, Their people that would argue and have the opposite opinion to myself

Great question. All of the Mantis scooters are as good as the 8 now. The 8 came out later, but they've all been updated for almost a year. -Paul

Thankfully, companies are adding their own names, like Voro's "SE" to help us tell them apart. Someone also offers a Mantis 8 with two 500W motors rather than two 800W motors! I think, over time we'll see more branding on each of the scooters, i.e. something like "Fluid Mantis Pro" which will help us keep them all straight. The ones we are testing here all came from Fluid Freeride. -Paul

The Voro Motors SE is basically a Mantis 10 Pro with a smaller battery (18.2AH vs 24.5AH).

Wow, that's a tricky one. I don't know of any seats available as a direct bolt-on for the Mantis. The deck has kind of a tricky profile to clamp on to. Have you reached out to Fluidfreeride? They may have some ideas. -Paul

youll need to get fenders. otherwise youll get dirty.
They don't do well at all, from what I hear. Many have mentioned ruining controllers. There are videos on how to waterproof them, though.
Definitely not my first choice for riding in the rain. If I got caught in the rain, I'd avoid deep puddles and wipe it down when returning home. -Paul
Idk if you would be able to help but I bought the mantis 8 from kaabo. Hook everything up turn on the screen and the screen glitches. Then goes dark. It’s fully charged. I’m in the middle of talking with kaabo but they’re taking forever to get back. I even reached out to fluid. I’m on some of the forums and a few people are saying it’s a bad lcd. Now I can still take it out and ride it. But I can’t see anything. What could it be? Thanks.

I'd want ECO (rear drive 48V 18.2Ah 800W Motor, Disc brake EABS), but I only have the option of getting
PLUS (48v 18.2Ah 2 x 800W Motor, Semi Hydraulic brakes
) and
PRO (48v 24.5Ah 2 x 800W Motor, Minimotors Controller and throttle, full hydraulic brakes, LG battery
)
Now, the main thing that makes me wanna get the mantis 8 is the tires are tubeless - could anyone tell me if there is any other brands/models aside from EMOVE Cruiser and Ninebot Max that have tubeless pneumatic tires? while being light enough
Also, out of the 3 models which would you suggest? I am leaning on the ECO, but can't find it, my only concern is should you spend x2 more for LG batteries if you don't need 75km range (I only need like 20-30km in a day)

How stiff is the suspensions? Do you feel every slight bump in the road? A too soft suspension is dangerous especially in corners.

Good evening! I recently bought Kaboo Mantis 10 Base 18.5ah 60V, not professional. I used it, there is no manual, I found it on the Internet - it did not help. Such a scooter for the first time, in the display settings it is indicated that the scooter turns off at 53V. Today it was 58, I was driving and turned off on the go, although the charge remained, how to solve this problem? If he turns off on the Chinese Kugoo M4 pro because he can no longer drive, then he immediately cuts off. I had to walk home. What is its minimum voltage, if max 67V. Thanks! Any issues I know of with the Mantis (stem issues) were resolved a long time ago. Are there issues going on with newly purchased Mantis scooters? -Paul

Things like bolts and mounting points coming loose early in ownership, lots of braking issues, electronics/throttle problems. Obviously it’s a popular scooter and more numbers means more faults along the way. Still a nice scooter and still in my next list. But should I wait in hope of a new version.......?

The next common failure they need to fix is replace the Standard Display (LT01); it is a shockingly bad product.
We haven't had any trouble with our LT01. What sort of failure did you have?
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide The most predominant one is the magnet falling out. Half a dozen customers had problems with them falling out, even one new scooter in the shop missing the magnet entirely. E10 errors galore, had 4 units with E10 straight out of the box. However, we also had a spate of failures on one particular SMD chip, on it's Vcc pin in the Minimotor ey3 display Throttle circuit board. I had 2 failures and other 2 stores had 1 each.
Mind you, the store I worked in sold several hundred Kaabos a year.

The Dualtron is in my opinion a better purchase and their both basically the same price too (depending on model of Mini or Mantis)
The Dueltron mini in my opinion is better for every day usesge, that being said, please do NOT get it twisted or confused, im in no way whatsoever saying or implying that the Kaabo Mantis is a POS or a bad investment bcse its NOT, the Kaabo Mantis its a monster and is worth purchasing,
