- Civil rights activist Medgar Evers was born on July 2, 1925, in Decatur, Mississippi. In 1954, he became the first state field secretary of the NAACP in Mississippi. As such, he organized voter-registration efforts and economic boycotts, and investigated crimes perpetrated against blacks. Evers was assassinated outside of his Mississippi home in 1963, and after years of on-again, off-again legal proceedings, his killer was sent to prison in 1994. In 2017, President Barack Obama designated Evers's home a national historic landmark. #Biography

It takes a real coward to shoot a man in his back, especially one who gave so much to his country
Well they killed both kenendy and mlk to were all shot ..Ronald reagan they were some creep that try to kill him to
It was so sad that Medgar Evan's, as a soldier, fought for this country, came back to his country, to fight for civil rights, only to be gunned down. It was a terrible time, back then, but Medgar Evans, was a true warrior soldier, to take a stand, and I appreciate what he did, trying to make this world a better place. Rest in PARADISE Mr. Medgar Evans
I am so glad that i am taking the time to learn about history.
💯💯
And now, there trying to erase it!
I’m glad I learned about these civil rights activists because they all showed integrity, grit, and courage.
I admire his courage
Someone who contributed so much! RIP
I was only 3 when he was killed but I remember my father and other family members who were crying even though I was a child I still knew that what happened to medgar
I had the privilege to speak about Medgar a couple of years ago.
I hope my presentation did him justice, although I feel that myself,or anyone trying to do so would fall terribly short.God willing, I get the chance to meet him in Heaven, since I was too young to meet him here on earth.May God hold you close Medgar, and know that generations will continue to know and love you for your sacrifice as a soldier abroad, and a soldier here for equal rights for all.
It's 2020 and the fight is still going. This feels different and minds are starting to really shift.
Well, it felt different. It was different in some ways, but my state passed harsher laws against civil disobedience.
RIP Medgar Evers (July 2, 1925-June 12, 1963)
July 2nd: Happy birthday Civil Rights activist Medgar Wiley Evers (1925-1963) Thank you and God bless. RIP. Thanks for the upload, Biography. Blessings
Medgar Evers was an outstanding African American Leader! God bless his family and loved ones. Just an outstanding man and activist...the whole package.
Emmett Till was never hanged. He was beat to death. and Evers lived for about 50 minuets before dying.
They didnt say hanged they said lynched ....just extrajudicial execution.
A great but unfortunately forgotten black leader. Ty for this video.

Justice never sleeps!!
Emmett Till is the young man you are referring to, not "Tibbs."
Medgar Evers Should Of Never Been Killed, He Was A Moving And Caring Civil Rights Movement, He Will Always Be Remembered. 😇

Bless Medgar.
Overall good but you have to fix the inaccuracies. Medgar didn't die instantly. He was only 37 when he died.

What kind of biography is this only 4 minutes long such a disappointment
Byron is forshame for killing Medgar Evers. However in the 1970, Medgar Evers College schools in Carroll Street and in Bedford Avenue were built and now part of the City University of New York for all African-American students to pursue into a career they are now into. : )
Didn't Medger die because he was able to land some time on a popular television spot? That's what I remember.
COWBOYS
Ur wrong
#silvereagle2061 is right, do reasherch

Nope listen to Yash Quarah, Emit Till was a sacrifice, you have to dig deeper, listen to other witnesses and watch out for the Black Boule lying and passifying things
The information is wrong on this. Emmett Tibbs died for whistling at a white woman, Medgar was 37 when he was shot and killed and he last 0ver 50 minutes before he passed away.
No, that was a lie. TIll's killer made that up so they'd have a "Reason" to kill him aside from the color of his skin.
Paula Via *Emmett Till
@@benlevin478 Yes but before Carolyn Bryant recanted even his cousin stated he heard Emmett whistle . Makes no difference still wrong
Mr. Beckwith is a hero to all white people with the tiniest bit of self respect.
