Yep. you can even play "double-stops" in rock, blues or soul. And, like others here, I'd played them but never called them that before now. I play in a band that does a cool version of "Poke Salad Annie" in which I play double-stops to follow the primary guitar riff. sounds great and easy to do.
Great tutorial! I was totally thrilled when I first heard Stanley Clarkes School Days. The older guys maybe remember; The days before RUclips . . . ;-)
great lesson man. A little suggetion when you teach these lessons that aren't just like scales or theory, but something people can actually use when playing. I would suggest you give an exsample of a song where say double stops are used, which is also something people can learn how to play. for instance Joy Divisons Love will tear us apart would be a good one, the whole bassline is double stops. What do you think?
Hi Daric, how are you? thanks for this video its very cool. I like to know if is possible to make a video or audio to play the intro song more extended. cheers
Hey Daric; just out of curiousity; what made you want to purchase a Squire bass? What do you think of these basses. I want to get a Squire P bass; reason being is I just cannot afford a Fender P bass. (American made with a Rosewood fingerboard) What P bass makes would you recommend to get that sound being an under $1000 price tag?
Anyone know where I can listen to bass playing similar to the feel of his little improv in the beginning? To my ears that sounds distinctly like Wooten, but with all of the cool and none of the tacky. Any recommendations?
Great playing, great delivery, great presentation!!
Great stuff. Ironically I've been playing with this stuff, without knowing exactly what I was doing or what it's called. 😅
TShaka Roots Mayanja same here bro😁
Yeah i think the term double stop should refer to something rhythmic but instead it's just a 2 note chord. Weird

Great lesson, and great playing! Thanks!
Great lesson and awesome advice about making something difficult an exercise! I'm pretty sure that Nathaniel Phillips used 10ths on "Glide".
