I have about 60 locomotives myself O gauge. And my layout is 6x16, not a huge layout, but big enough. I work for a railroad in the northeast United States and as an EMT. Sometimes after my day at the railroad, I want to pull my hair out, it’s certainly much different than model railroading that’s for sure. Or after an ambulance shift, I’ve seen some very very sad situations. So my way of unwinding is my trains. I come home throw them on and I find it very relaxing and helpful. And to make things even better, my girlfriend encourages my hobby. She could care less if I come home with something I bought. And she actually is very interested to see what it is, and many times comes to the trains shows with me. It’s a great hobby, I find it very helpful for stress relief.
Well Eric, I will tell you my favorite...it is the ABBA Norfolk Southern Tuxedo F-series Office Car set with the yellow accents. That MTH set is without a doubt the most beautiful of anything ive ever seen anywhere. Great video...
Eric, I got the train bug too! I have 47 diesels engines most by MTH, Lionel also in my collection I have 38 steam engines. I'm looking for a 4-8-8-2 Yellowstone, I hope the guys at Whistlestop trains, that where I go to buy my trains here in Portland I have my fingers crossed that Charley can find one for me. I've been buying trains from Charley for 20 years. I really enjoyed watching your video`s I have been watching them for about 10 years now. I like each Episode, thanks for sharing your collection! I also like your bridge on the layout, like I said I've been watching you for a long time. I watched your episode on laying track and ballast, the episode on running wires for lighting, switches, etc. Eric, keep going and I will keep watching!
Nice video. The second time I have watch it. I did notice one thing though. You have a few Burlington Northern locomotives, but what was BN before. It was Northern Pacific railways. And no Great Northern railway either. My best friends dad worked for Northern Pacific and Burlington Northern and retired from BN in the late 80`s. At that time all of Northern Pacific`s locomotive shops repair shops and the round house where torn down. Northern Pacific and Great Northern railways together in a joint effort to cut the tunnel through the north Cascades mountains back in the 1800`s. That tunnel is still used today and is the longest tunnel in north america (8 miles).
Hi Eric, Happy 40th upcoming birthday from an older guy. My brother and I got our first Lionel train set back in the last century about 1965. My grandmother bought it from the neighbor because her sons had grown out of trains and were gone to university. It is a steam engine plus cars. I don't exactly when it was built. I still have the train set and I'm still doing the model train hobby which is great.
Most people don't, but there are some people out there who do. They are usually the type of people who choose to blame everyone else for their problems in life and hate people who succeed through hard work and determination. They also tend to believe that success in life depends on luck and not hard work.
@@Ericstrains Those are losers, sir. You don't have to worry about them, as I can see the only luck you had is inheriting your dad's model stash, which is also his hard work. So yeah I can pretty much say that haters gonna hate, this is awesome!
Good ol puffing smoke units and air whistles. Both my steamers are the same like that, one is a postwar and one is the old pennsey flyer. Yeah my collection isn't great. Yet.
Awesome video Eric!I'm not jealous of you like when I was younger, but you inspired me to collect my own O Gauge trains. For the Silver Bullet Train, my mother bought me that same train for my birthday in 2008 when I was in 7th grade and I almost got in trouble for saying the train's name by my one teacher before I got the set.
My only train that is close in scale to HO is that at a train show in Missouri, I picked up a 1957 Triang-Hornby Jinty for $10. Gauge is of course OO scale and the guy said it still runs. For $2, I got a piece of Bachmann Nickel Silver track so the engine can rest on it instead of the wheels resting on a table. Who knew that you can find British made toy trains here in the United States?
When I was in high school 1961-65 we had a head football coach who would not allow football on TV at home because of beer ads that his children might see.
Eric.....I have a 5 x 8 layout, nothing fancy. I'm not jealous because i like watching different videos. At 65, I built off my original set from the 50s. I 'll end up being more display than running around the track, but still having fun. In in queens ny.....enjoy
Eric: The Pennsy high pitched whistles were known as banshees and the N&W high pitched whistles were known as hooters. Both banshee whistles and hooters whistles are steam freight whistles.
I'm so weak.. I hit "pause" right after the scale test car, went to the bay - there was only one in O (the UP, new in the box) - it's on its way... yee-haw!
My dad years ago had been saving an old (maybe 1960's) Lionel freight set to give to me or my brother (I'm the one into trains, so I would've gotten it), but my dad's nephew or sister stole it before he could take it out of his parents' house.
Eric, NS 9010 is currently the oldest dash 9 40cw out as of 12/6/19 according to ns dash9.com. it's currently stored at GE ft worth TX for rebuilding as AC44c6m. It will be of the roster very soon
You always has some very nice Trains and l learn alot about what locomotives that l buy and you been a great showing your layout and great content 👌 keep up the Great work and got anything for sale
I am planning to buy a Lionchief Plus A5. I don’t know which variant I want, but it’s a bit pricy on eBay ($200-$400). I think it’s a cute 0-4-0, and would be a great addition to my little layout.
Thankyou Eric for a great tour of you train collection..... Yes I did fall asleep during the tour but I have now Watched it a total of three times.. Regards ...Frank from Oz.....
Fantastic video Eric and a long work in progress and worth it! I did miss getting to see the Weaver LH Black Diamond. Love that beautiful engine and wish I could have gotten one myself. Guess you had it on loan when you did the review and the "September Running videos?"
Being from the Northwest couldn't help but notice no Great Northern, Northern Pacific or SP&S. But they are Fallen Flags. Love the videos Eric, thank you.
Excellent video. Took me a while to watch it, but worth the extended time. My Dad got me started back in the 50's with a great Santa Fe 2043 set that I wish that I had now. I have passed the bug on to kids, grandkids, nieces & nephews over the years. Now retired, I'm fortunate to be able to enjoy the hobby and expand the collection. All the best, Matt
You should have called it "Eric's Trains - The Epic Film"! Congratulations on finishing such a great project and thank you for taking the time that you do to share your collection with us. It was great spending the evening looking through your collection.
Also, I'm so glad you was able to pick up the Rudolph baggage car for your 249E Tin Plate Christmas Train. I just love the passenger announcements for this train. They always make me laugh and smile!
excellent collection bud! CSX Atlas switcher #1114 works in Nashville and is now in YN3 or YN3b paint- so you have a YN2 scheme and now a piece of history- excellent video and collection bud!
Thanks for sharing. A suggestion if I may? Maybe add some annotations to this video for the video/review for the train you're talking about. Then it would be much easier to just click and watch the video if someone wants to watch a more in depth video of the model.
Do you have an AlCO A1 super chief in the war bonnet paint that came with another diesel and the center generator power car. There was about 2 or 3 Pullman, 1 mail, 1 observation and a tapered pullman for a caboose. All engines and rolling stock cars were made from extruded aluminum.
Great video. I admire your enthusiasm for the hobby. And I am envious of your ceaseless passion for model trains. Looking forward to the total rolling stock episode!
Great collection thank you for sharing.
Very impressive collection
Eric I love trains as well
Very cool
BRAVO ERIC, BRAVO

Thanks for showing your Trains 🚆 I enjoyed this video 📹 😀 very much, looking forward for more of your Videos 📹 😀 !!!! Good 👍 Job !!!!
The tinplate locomotives are beautiful never knew about the standard gauge I always thought of it as some weird thing Lionel made
I like the SD80MAC
I Model HO and O scale trains.
I wish I had all of those trains

Noticed the DT&I in the thumbnail. My Uncle Chuck designed the older DT&I logo that looked like a compass.
Amazing you have so many trains🚂❤️😎
BN only had 3 of those SD60's
You did an awesome job on your layout. I live wstching your videos evause its like railfanning eithout leaving the house lol
The Pan Am railways loco is based on a real on in my home state in Maine. Not many engines on this channel are from Maine.
i like trains
How the hell does anybody gonna get jealous, I love this sir! I'm impressed!

All you need to go behind MILW 261 is Amtrak 184
Good ol puffing smoke units and air whistles. Both my steamers are the same like that, one is a postwar and one is the old pennsey flyer. Yeah my collection isn't great. Yet.

And a new review on the silver bullet
When I was in high school 1961-65 we had a head football coach who would not allow football on TV at home because of beer ads that his children might see.
Of the 2 o scale engines I have, we have none in common. But I do have the HO Union Pacific.
WOW!
I know it’s a lot Oder video but thank you for sharing your collection very nice.

You should get the locomotives from the movie Unstoppable. Awvr 777, Awvr 767, Awvr 1206, and Railroad Safty Campain 2002, Awvr 7375, and Awvr 7346
My dad years ago had been saving an old (maybe 1960's) Lionel freight set to give to me or my brother (I'm the one into trains, so I would've gotten it), but my dad's nephew or sister stole it before he could take it out of his parents' house.
You are fortunate to have your birth in United States of America. From Tamil Nadu.

Fantastic video Eric and a long work in progress and worth it! I did miss getting to see the Weaver LH Black Diamond. Love that beautiful engine and wish I could have gotten one myself. Guess you had it on loan when you did the review and the "September Running videos?"
+Christopher Edens (Saturn Mist Prod.) Yeah, the Black Diamond was a loaner from Weaver.
I plan to have a o scale layout
the only Lionel train I have is the Pennsylvania flyer and some additional rolling stock
Great that you have your dad's hobby and you built on it and keep him in your thoughts frequently. Great family connection that never ends.
Eric that caboose is only in the Lionel NS Black Diamond Freight Set
Good to know. I guess the set from was broken up and sold in pieces.
like soo lines
Nice dude
That is a lot of trains and I thought I had a lot
the 3710 steam engine reminds me of the thin red line flag
I’m pretty sure you think there are a bunch of people out there that are jealous of you but I highly doubt that.
You should do a video of the NKP 765 pulling your NS OCS passenger cars as an excursion in your next run by video.
I'm jealous as hell.i love your setup.
You have some beautiful locomotives.
I just found your channel and love it.you do some really good reviews.
Thanks!
Being from the Northwest couldn't help but notice no Great Northern, Northern Pacific or SP&S. But they are Fallen Flags. Love the videos Eric, thank you.

So as it turns out, I currently own (1) more Illinois Central Railroad locomotives than Eric does. Actually, 1/3rd of my locomotives are ICRR.
YOU ARE AWESOME, ERIC!
