  • Korach was an illustrious Levite who rebelled against Moshe and Aaron, and as everybody knows, the earth opened up and swallowed him. But there is much more to his story - and to his agenda - than meets the eye. What was he really after, and why was his punished in such a unique and severe manner?
The portion of Korach (Num. 16: 1- 18:32) is read in the Land of Israel on Shabbat, 28 Sivan 5783 - June 17, 2023
The portion of Shelach (Num. 13:1 - 15:41) is read in the Diaspora on Shabbat, 28 Sivan 5783 - June 17, 2023

usupers are quite normal in history but Korach was not trying to usurp a man alone and his rebellion was conditioned by self absorbed cruelty.

Unrelated question...should women wear tzit tzit?

Women can wear tzitzis and tefillin if they wish. Michal, the daughter of king Saul and the wife of king David, put on tzitzis and tefillin.
