Might as well make it since the Wakfu Vid did well. This console game is full of particle effects and runs at like 900p or something. Says 1080 on Xbox360 and 720 on PS3's box. I own both and used the 360 copy. It just looks so blurry when editing I'm sorry. I recorded 115 gigs of footage. Years I ago I recorded more footage but that was on PS3 which is at a lower resolution. I ain't using that crap. Scrap it all and use slightly better 360 footage. Wish there was a PC port that cleaned this crap up.

@@Bluecho4 There's already an enemy in the game that's harder to beat than Gene with 2 god hands, his name is Cybrid Bar-Bot. Although it would have been pretty damn sweet to have Gene as a playable character, or at least have him as a special boss.
So according to this article by Destructoid on 4-12-2017 called "Platinum says it would port 'all their games' to PC": "MadWorld, Infinite Space, Vanquish, Anarchy Reigns -- very high chance(porting to PC) as they're all done by Sega, which allowed the Bayonetta port. Especially Anarchy Reigns, which could be given a new lease on life as a free-to-play game." So it's likely we may see an Anarchy Reigns revival/port soon. Just...not too thrilled about the 'Free to play' aspect of it. Like you said Pan, in this day and age with lootboxes and all the DLC, it could potentially ruin it. If they do it, let's hope they do it right.
who knows? maybe they'll just drop it on pc as a free game, no lootboxes or anything. platinum doesnt seem like the kind of company to do something like that. but, then again, games do require that they make money so who knows.
Fuck reheated ports of ancient games, rebuild the game from the ground up. There's too many flaws with the game to just toss it on PC, seeing as all Sega PC ports are straight ports of old console games. They should focus on the Ps4 and Xbone since they are seen as more serious platforms, with PC being the "throw old games on there and patch it only twice" platform.
If we get a port of Madworld I would love the option to detect Wii remote and nunchuck using the Wii sensor bar for PC (there's stuff like that out there. Amazon is your friend kids)
@@RevolvingCube don't expect anything more than them directly mapping wii controls to keyboard/mouse and controller buttons. Sega does the bare minimum when porting their games, they wouldn't bother supporting a third party peripheral.

I'd say something like "ohh Nintendo should give platinum the cash to remake this" but that would mean it would be a switch exclusive and... well to put it nicely Nintendo still needs to learn how a server works.
It's already laggy enough as it is. Putting it on Nintendo's service would be a total *disaster* ... plus they'd just shut it down QUICK like they did to Devil's Third (another bad game).
I loved Anarchy Reigns combat. It reminded me of the Budokai combo system. Simple on a surface level, but once you learn to cancel? The entire games combo system opens up dramatically. Almost anything can be converted to anything and pressure becomes endless. That's when matches start to look like whole ass anime battles, when both players know how to twitch cancel. The mechanic also allowed for dope looking conversions into killer weapon combos too. The B&B for most characters was 3 light attacks < twitch cancel < heavy launcher < twitch cancel < 3 light attacks < Killer Weapon Combo 1. Typically 30%. If you knew how to consistently cancel then you could just keep going, but it isn't as easy as it sounds.
God damn it Pan, the memories on this one hurt. I remember following this game through it's delays and ending up loving the game only for it to die a month later. Oh and screw unlocking Gargoyle. I think I did that via online rank as opposed to story. lol
Split-screen could've saved this game. There are people who still drag their GameCube and extra controllers to every gathering, fighting tournament and convention to play Melee. I would do that for a multiplayer game I love, BUT thankfully FF: Crystal Chronicles is being re-released so I don't have to invest in 3 extra GBAs and Link cables I'll never use otherwise.

This game was *released at half price with preorder bonuses included* on top of that. And it's not like it got "held back" for a long time either. It came out only 5 months later than the Japan release. This game is just not very good. Platinum's done better games when they focus on single player.

Another issue that effected SEGA was their unwillingness to really push the game because of their tight financials. While the Yakuza games are very well made, they weren't putting asses in seats and SEGA was going into a bit of a panic mode. Platinum had an agreement to create new IPs for them, notably Madworld, Bayonetta, and Vanquished, but none of them were all that impressive in terms of sales. Anarchy Reigns was to be the last game in their deal and was Platinum stepping outside their comfort zone. The game was a massive risk for SEGA when they shouldn't have been taking any so they did little if anything for it.

Decided to come back to this video after Babylon's fall. Damn shame that game turned out the way it did when their first attempt at a multi-player game was so beloved.
I love games with standoffs. Nothing gets more personal and epic than fighting someone with all your might and feeling indestructible, only to find an opponent who is doing the exact same So you both just go absolutely ham on one another until the battle becomes an unrecognizable blur. *That’s my jam*
I didn’t really care about this game when I played it, but it was still fun seeing you geeking out over it. I had forgotten how many modes and characters they had. Say what you will about it but its a game filled with content, more content than plenty of 60$ games nowadays
Some kind of sequel to this could be so cool, espetially now that Platinum has so many more games to potentially pull from. Having Nier, Wonderful 101, Astral Chain, represented, maybe even Raiden, all in the same game could be super fun
i preordered this back in the day, and the bonus multiplayer modes and Bayo were free Gamestop Preorder bonus's at the time. i used to go hard in Death Ball when there was a player base and i really miss this game.
god, looking at this really does make me wish this game got more. i haven't heard much of it until now but now i really wish this got a sequel or spiritual successor, maybe incorporating all of platnum's franchises. maybe if that KLK game does well maybe we could see a big trigger/gainax crossover fighter in the style of anarchy, that would be perfect imo. maybe if i can find this for cheap and it has xbone backwards compatability ill give it a shot, this looks honestly too cool to pass up, despite the lack of local multiplayer (which is the one thing a successor should get, even if it's just splitscreen)
I was so excited for this game that I imported a copy from Japan about a month after it released in Japan. It took forever to get here, but nowhere near as long for the American release. I had a blast. Gargoyle and Douglas were my dudes. The online was a little laggy, as I had to play with mainly folks from Japan., but there were actually a lot to people playing, and it wasn't hard to find a match. When it released over here, I was hyped. Especially since I didn't have to go and buy it again. Online lasted maybe a week, a month at most. It's nice to see this game get some positive coverage. I thoroughly enjoyed it and it's a shame SEGA let it go to waste.
My god this game is so much fun! I wish i could go back in time and buy it when it first came out and actually experience the online mode! At least the simulator lets you try out all the modes. I would give a kidney for a sequel one day! Imagine bringing the entire cast back along with others from Madworld, Revengeance and Bayonetta. It truly is such an underrated gem! Also Mathilda is my main too!!!
Hell yeah dude! This game seriously does not get enough love, even in retrospectives. Soundtrack still bops and yeah the combat is a bit repetitive, but the aesthetic of the game and this grimy urban feel just isn't done all that often anymore. Glad you made this video.
A fighting game akin to Power Stones with a roster than feeds Pan’s punk fetish, guest starring Bayonetta? I have no idea how this game wasn’t more successful
I used to play this game all the time when it came out. There were real advanced tech to learn with each character, even if they fought similarly, on the gamut of "types." Lights usually being toppest tier because of their cancel into killer weapons, but I remember showing some people that tiers-are-for-queers and using heavier characters like Max and his counters and tech that it inspired others. Then they all teamed up on me because I had a high score. Anarchy Reigns in these streets, baby.
I remember loving this game. Some months after release I tried playing online hoping to get all the multiplayer achievements. I found a small but dedicated community. Like 13 people who played all the time and were way too good, but super fun to play with. I wish this game would've been more successful and had more people to play with.
Anarchy Reigns feels like my other heart throb from original Xbox Iron Phoenix right down to its heartbreaking forgotten status. No one deserves this to happen to them twice. So sorry Sega.
Wow I never got the link but now I finally get it why I was sometimes thinking back to how I would like to play another round of Anarchy Reigns sometime after an Overwatch session.
yeah, they were really fun... when like tom and hard news were around. I still like nick. but Im sure rooster teeth has already put down the channel. like the fred channel. except for death battle.
YES! This was such a hidden gem, I imported this back in the day and when I heard it was only $30 when it came out in the states I had to double dip, but I recall that even at the US launch the game was relatively dead and certain game modes were impossible to play and others would take 10 minutes to build a lobby. Thanks for this video, Pan, it's great to see this game is still remembered. And please, I must request that you organize some kind of game night to refill the lobbies so we can smile and reminisce of the days of the old.
Haven’t watched Pan Pizza in a YEAR and forgot how much joy his videos bring me. The fucking ATTENTION TO DETAIL and the work put into it. He genuinely made me want to get this game
Anarchy Reigns is one of my favorite games. I picked it up way too late to enjoy the multiplayer, and I sadly never played mad world but I'll be damned if for a couple hours every few months or so it's not just super fun to beat some grunts up and listen to some bomb ass music.
It Definitely Needs a PC Port Or a Remastered version From Anarchy Reigns. It Possibly Worth For the Fans what they Really wanted to have More Online Multiplayer.
This game had characters more interesting than Overwatch and a gameplay that would fit perfectly the genre of Battle Royales that are swarming the industry. 7:18 I also spilled my coffee when you said "NieR Hakuna Matata".
Same problem as madworld - visuals blend together so much that it's hard to tell what's going on on the screen, and that's kinda important for a brawler.
Durga and Big Bull was def my go to guys. Loved Bulls dual grab and Durgas leg cannon. I pray to Kamiya every night for a remake but in my prayers he just insults me on his Twitter.
I love the idea that the devs play the game with their fans too be cool, and just get shit on, so they check the manuel to see if what's happening to them is intended.

Some kind of sequel to this could be so cool, espetially now that Platinum has so many more games to potentially pull from. Having Nier, Wonderful 101, Astral Chain, represented, maybe even Raiden, all in the same game could be super fun

i preordered this back in the day, and the bonus multiplayer modes and Bayo were free Gamestop Preorder bonus's at the time. i used to go hard in Death Ball when there was a player base and i really miss this game.
god, looking at this really does make me wish this game got more. i haven't heard much of it until now but now i really wish this got a sequel or spiritual successor, maybe incorporating all of platnum's franchises. maybe if that KLK game does well maybe we could see a big trigger/gainax crossover fighter in the style of anarchy, that would be perfect imo. maybe if i can find this for cheap and it has xbone backwards compatability ill give it a shot, this looks honestly too cool to pass up, despite the lack of local multiplayer (which is the one thing a successor should get, even if it's just splitscreen)

I was so excited for this game that I imported a copy from Japan about a month after it released in Japan. It took forever to get here, but nowhere near as long for the American release. I had a blast. Gargoyle and Douglas were my dudes. The online was a little laggy, as I had to play with mainly folks from Japan., but there were actually a lot to people playing, and it wasn't hard to find a match. When it released over here, I was hyped. Especially since I didn't have to go and buy it again. Online lasted maybe a week, a month at most. It's nice to see this game get some positive coverage. I thoroughly enjoyed it and it's a shame SEGA let it go to waste.

My god this game is so much fun! I wish i could go back in time and buy it when it first came out and actually experience the online mode! At least the simulator lets you try out all the modes. I would give a kidney for a sequel one day! Imagine bringing the entire cast back along with others from Madworld, Revengeance and Bayonetta.

Hell yeah dude! This game seriously does not get enough love, even in retrospectives. Soundtrack still bops and yeah the combat is a bit repetitive, but the aesthetic of the game and this grimy urban feel just isn't done all that often anymore. Glad you made this video.

I used to play this game all the time when it came out. There were real advanced tech to learn with each character, even if they fought similarly, on the gamut of "types." Lights usually being toppest tier because of their cancel into killer weapons, but I remember showing some people that tiers-are-for-queers and using heavier characters like Max and his counters and tech that it inspired others. Then they all teamed up on me because I had a high score. Anarchy Reigns in these streets, baby.

I remember loving this game. Some months after release I tried playing online hoping to get all the multiplayer achievements. I found a small but dedicated community. Like 13 people who played all the time and were way too good, but super fun to play with. I wish this game would've been more successful and had more people to play with.
Anarchy Reigns feels like my other heart throb from original Xbox Iron Phoenix right down to its heartbreaking forgotten status. No one deserves this to happen to them twice. So sorry Sega.

This was such a hidden gem, I imported this back in the day and when I heard it was only $30 when it came out in the states I had to double dip, but I recall that even at the US launch the game was relatively dead and certain game modes were impossible to play and others would take 10 minutes to build a lobby.

Anarchy Reigns is one of my favorite games. I picked it up way too late to enjoy the multiplayer, and I sadly never played mad world but I'll be damned if for a couple hours every few months or so it's not just super fun to beat some grunts up and listen to some bomb ass music.
It Definitely Needs a PC Port Or a Remastered version From Anarchy Reigns. It Possibly Worth For the Fans what they Really wanted to have More Online Multiplayer.

Same problem as madworld - visuals blend together so much that it's hard to tell what's going on on the screen, and that's kinda important for a brawler.
I hope sega would re-release this on PC. It would be great, there is potential that would be the case some day.
