Hey, I'm the newest member of the dev team. I'm going to voice the main antagonist AKA Jessie AKA The Overseer in the full version of the game.
The backstory is actually pretty messed up. Jessie's father worked for Nintendo. They were working on a remake of the original Super Mario Bros game to celebrate Marios 20th anniversary titled Super Mario Bros +. They wanted the game and characters to feel alive, so they implemented a scrapped personalized AI from Super Mario 64. It worked, the Wario AI gave Mario a mind of his own and the plumber felt like an actual living person treating Luigi like a family member. However, Jessie's father felt that it wasn't enough, that it didn't truly capture the soul of a real person, then he got a twisted idea. When Jessie was thirteen years old, his own father drowned him in a lake and somehow trapped his soul in the game cartridge. The AI has been manipulating Jessie ever since, which is why he's become so twisted and violent.
We're kinda procrastinating at the moment, but I look forward to seeing people play the full version when it finally gets released. By the way, there are secrets that the player can unlock by holding down certain keys. The codes so far are MX, VHS, GTFO, and BIG.
