  • Thanks for checking out my custom hammer cart build! This mobile metalsmithing work station features hammer storage, a sinking stump and a very special anvil. It’s not uncommon for railroad tracks to be used as anvils in blacksmithing but this one has a twist: I cut and shaped this track specifically for sheet metal forming. I hand torched this anvil with oxy/acetylene and created the bull-nose taper with an angle grinder. This was an affordable way of having a large metalsmith’s raising stake - which can be very expensive to buy new. Enjoy the build!
This is part-two of a two-part build, for part one:

I have to say you are very talented at welding and fabricating. I watched both of these videos and the welding table video. Awesome stuff man!

Thank you! I appreciate it! They're deffinitely a lot of work to get posted, but lots more videos to come! Glad you enjoyed them.

Very nice job. It's awesome. Hopefully you get great use out of it for many years to come. Keep up the great craftsmanship and hard work my friend. Forge on. Fab on. Weld on. Keep designing. Keep making. God bless.

Excellent compact cart. Thanks for the practical demo too. It’s been over a year now since you posted this build. Would you change anything? I love the idea of being able to use it sitting down. May not be as efficient, but looks very relaxing to use. 👍👍😎👍👍

Thanks again Joel! The sitting aspect is a more jewellery/metalsmithing thing than a blacksmith setup. It's how I was taught and lends itself to a compact little setup. I wouldn't change a thing about the build but i really wish i could have included oxy/acetylene cutting the railroad track anvil and hardy hole - I did that at work and couldn't record it but would have been a good addition.

You're saving my ass here. I have a plate of steel for my welding table that I'm going to build in the next couple days and after dozens of welding table builds I just gave up till I saw yours. Thanks RUclips algorithm!
And this thing is the build right after the welding bench and I have seen nothing that even comes close to what you made here.
My only criticism is that I think the videos could be a little more punk. Maybe some GG Allin for the soundtrack? I think you would get way more followers.
    Wait...that's probably a terrible idea.

Hahaha, I wish I could have better music! The copyright free stuff is... limited... lol. I'm glad you found it useful. I have a 14 page package of drawings with notes on my patreon if you're interested.

Thank you! I have an Everlast 255 EXT. I've had it 2 years and it's still a great machine.
